1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Volks Dollfie ICON

Jul 17, 2019

    1. This line is so beautiful, I’m so excited! I love all the skin tones and how colorful they are . I can’t wait to see how everyone styles them .

    2. I hope one day that Volks sell basic heads and parts for this line like they do the DD.

    3. Volks USA just sent an e-mail saying shipping might be delayed.

    4. Anyone know what size eyes they come with, and/or what size looks good on them in general?

    5. So I decided to email and ask about the current shipping delays. I'm less than 20mi from them and haven't had issues in the past, but figured it'd be worth checking. They replied and told me they've seen delays of as much as a week just to the next town over! >_<"
Just an FYI for anyone that's wondering what to expect. I've decided to change my order to pick-up since that's a reasonable option for me.

    6. @yukiri Thank you for the update. I'm so excited to pick up my grail doll. I hope she will be arrived on the first week of August.

    7. @yukiri That’s true. It took almost two weeks for me to receive my last copy of Volks News when I live in the next city over.

    8. Well I just got an email saying she's ready to be picked up. Considering their hours I won't be able to make it there in time today, but I should be able to tomorrow. I'm sure others will get their notices soon if they haven't already!

    9. Yeah, they send the emails out later in the day. I just got my email from them, so I’ll be picking up my dolls tomorrow too! Better call and schedule then.

    10. Yeah, I kind of wish they sent them out earlier, but I had a meeting that went pretty long today so I wouldn't have had time anyway. Oh well, now I can leave a little earlier in the day and hopefully avoid the lovely LA Friday afternoon traffic. ^_^"

    11. They sent me 2 emails: one for my Serra, one for my William. Hell yeah, Imma pick 'em up on Monday :D

    12. Hopefully that means they'll be shipping them out soon as well!

    13. I got her home safe and sound! I have some other errands to run before it gets too late in the day, but I'll take some pictures when I get to opening later today.
Also, for anyone that hasn't been there before, the building is pretty non-descript. There's an open gate with a sign for a few suites in the lot that is pretty easy to miss. Just turn in at the gate and they should be immediately to the left.

    14. Happy Friday to you!
Can't wait for the shipping email.

    15. I just finished taking and uploading some photos. I got my lighting set up and realized that my camera's battery was dead. >_< I didn't feel like waiting for it to charge, so I proceeded to use my phone. I didn't do any post-processing since they're just phone shots, but they turned out well enough. I was going to take a couple of photos of her with the ears on, but honestly I could not separate that stack of magnets so it will have to wait. I absolutely love the wig she came with. It suits her so well and I'm really happy with that.

Here's a shot of her fresh out of the box with everything that came with her:

The tattoo sheet is in with the COA and the jewel pin is packaged in with the hood. Getting the jeans on was a PITA. They're pretty snug. Also, can I just comment on how deep those pockets are? Never mind the fact she's green or has fins for ears, those deep pockets on womens' jeans would never happen. I'm jealous.

Here's a close-up of her face-up. Honestly, the doll is much prettier than I even expected.

Here's a link to the full album if you want to see more, including a few shots I took of her side-by-side with my DDB, DDS, and Shiro SD13: Dollfie Icon

Honestly, I think the set was a great deal. The clothes and accessories are adorable and the typical DD face-up doesn't even compare. Also, the joint coloration didn't bother me nearly as much as I thought it would. Maybe it's because Clover is a bit pale in the first place so it isn't as jarring, but in person it really isn't so bad.

If I had one complaint, it would be that in some spots the pearlescence seems a little streaky near the joints in some spots? You have to look pretty close to see it though. I don't know if that's common with these dolls or not, hopefully someone else that's seen more than one can chime in.

    16. @yukiri
Are the eyes glued in or did they use putty?

    17. I just double checked and they're glued. I was hoping they'd use that fitter they used for my Dream Choice DDB, but they used glue.

    18. @yukiri - The faceup is really lovely in your close-ups! Are you going to keep those eyes or change them?

    19. @yukiri Yes, that is normal. It has something to do with how they put the pearlescent stuff into the plastic. My Clover has it too.
