1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Volks Dollfie ICON

Jul 17, 2019

    1. That excited me too, at first, but @Audrina Mystique's comment made sense to me, too. Besides, what would I do with the extra body, unless returning the old body was part of the deal. So I may leave well enough alone, and keep my Clover from the 2019 LA Dolpa intact. (However it'd be nice if Volks made body suits for them!)

A little dolly tax -- my Clover, Arminta, dressed in a Volks outfit. Look ma, no staining! :XD:

    2. I'm not an Icon owner (yet?), but I agree, if I had bought one with the mismatched joints, I wouldn't be inclined to buy a whole new body for her. But hey, this is Volks, so I'm trying not to be too optimistic about them just straight up offering blank dolls for preorder, y'know? ;)

@beamlette your Clover is lovely in that outfit, and I love her red hair with the minty skin!

    3. Thank you, Dolly! She wears it well; enjoying her BoHo style. Her wig is a Dollheart that a friend gave me several years ago; I like how well it goes with her face-up, and the short style too. Not always easy to find cute short wigs!

Good luck to you if/when you try for an ICON! :3nodding:

    4. This may be a dumb question, but I'm asking here since the listing says Volks USA doesn't answer questions about how the lottery works.

There's this line in the lottery rules:
A lottery will be conducted for each of the items. You may only win one of items even if you entered for more than one item.

I've always wondered if that means "you may" in the sense of "you might," or in the sense of "you are allowed."
That is, are they saying, "Even if you enter for multiple items, it's possible you'll get one, multiple, or all of the items you entered for." Or are they saying, "Even if you enter for multiple items, you can only win one of them at maximum."

I suppose if anyone has won multiple Icons in one lottery, that would answer that question, but I can't recall right now. (In every Icon lottery so far, I've entered for multiple colours in the hopes of managing to get at least one, but so far my luck has been the worst.)

    5. I asked over on Doll Dreaming, since i was wondering, too. This is what I got.

    6. Thank you! That is very helpful!

I'm just going to go for it and try for 4 of them again and hope I finally win one. I used to worry about the possibility of having to pay for several, but after losing every lottery so far, I realize what a naive concern that was. :sweat

    7. You may win more than 1 doll out of the 4. If you win 2 dolls, you must make payment for both dolls that you enter for. You can’t just pay for only 1 doll if winning 2.

    8. a pre-order instead of a lottery would be fantastic! I'd really like to get one of the new face in lilac :) and with all due respect, f*** the fullset price :sweat I have a lot of clothes of that size at home already & I generally like to do my own faceups

    9. Volks USA just sent out an email that they're having a pre-order for the new Icon's base body so that those who had the older version can upgrade.

    10. "You and a family member in the same house can each use your own account to enter for the same doll."

I was banned from Volks USA last year when both my sister and I entered a lottery. We live in the same house, have different accounts and names. I didn't even realize I was banned until I try to buy a doll and when I clicked on PayPal it went to "prohibited web service". Same happened to my sister.

I thought it was because we had the same address and used the same computer. If I knew it was possible for two people to buy from the same house I would have contacted them about the ban but it's been awhile and now I just buy from the Japanese website :/

    11. I'm really excited about this years re-release of the dollfie Icons. The previous years mis matching joints really put a damper on my interest. I had previously thought that it wouldn't be so bad, especially if I had looked into options for dyeing or painting the joints to match.
I'm really glad I held off because the new colored joints look amazing!
I want to try to enter the lotto for Terra or Aisha in Tawny as that color is just so beautiful!
I hope others are just as excited to enter as I am! :love

    12. Well, I'm probably going to cave and order a new body for my 2019 Clover. My reasoning is I shouldn't pass it up when offered! :sweat

I'm also tempted by RG Terra and Aisha, and I like Serra's make-up and expression. Hmmmmm... I have until the end of the month to decide if I'll put in my entry, so.... :3nodding:

    13. then it seems the most sensible idea is to get an f3 frame and dye that i think, so that if i fail, i still have the old frame...

    14. Really?!! Do you happen to have the email? I'm subscribed to their newsletters but haven't received any messages from them regarding pre-order for the new base body.

    15. @tinana If you message me your email I can forward it to you, but you can also check out the veeeerrrrry bottom on the Icon website and see information about it.

    16. This is my thought process as well. Even though I'm not in a rush to swap the body, I'd love to have the ICON f3 frame handy given the unique opportunity. The price doesn't feel as bad as the price of a new full kit 2022 ICON. My 2020 ICON was $750, 2022 is now $840 - It doesn't feel good at all.

    17. Wait....I was able to purchase from VolksUSA again! and I even entered the lottery so....they didn't ban me? How do you know if they ban you? I thought they banned me because of what I wrote up there but I can make purchases now

My sister and I made purchases and enter lotteries but not at the same time. I thought that we were banned since both entered the lottery for the same dollfie dream....

Anyways, I entered the lottery for Aisha. She looks like my mom when she was young, same face and sweet smile so I couldn't resist. It might me creepy for some people but not for me.^^

    18. This is my first doll lottery! Aisha and Lilac… I think the competition will be fierce for those. I think Aisha looks like an adult version of the MSD F-21 head… could be my MSD’s mom or sister. We shall see if I get lucky!

    19. That means that you are allowed to bid for as many items as you wish, anyway you will be able to win the only one item at best.
Volks have other type of auctions, where you can win multiple items. In this case, of cause, you must pay for all items you have won.

    20. @Tolgy Wait, that directly contradicts the DollDreaming post that @Kymera shared ("You can enter for one of each. You must pay for every doll you win. You can potentially win and then buy every doll you enter for.")

So which is it? I actually had always been under the impression it was 'if you enter for more than one doll and we draw you for more than one, you'll only actually be considered to have gotten one, we will redraw someone else for the other slot' (so what Tolgy said). But had no solid reason for thinking so. I guess no one can clarify but Volks (unless someone knows of an order where someone won and was able to buy two different LE dolls in such an event.)
