1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Volks Dollfie ICON

Jul 17, 2019

    1. Volks has almost always allowed you to win one of each item you enter for. If you enter for five different dolls you could potentially win all five or none at all depending on luck.

    2. No, it's not. Let's reread that question:
It is clear, that it's about the second type of auctions I have mentioned in my answer, the one where you can bid on and win multiple items. And most Volks' auctions are of this type. And for this type of auctions that answer is absolutely correct: if you have bet for and won several items, you must pay for all items you have won. But Volks have yet another auction type, auction where rare or precious items, as one of kind, or items produced by small batches are presented. For instance, D'Coord models on VolksUSA were auctioneered on this auction type, auction, where you are allowed to bid on multiple items but you can win only one of them. And the purpose of this ruling quite obvious -- it's to give a chance to win to as many people as possible. And ruling for Icons auction:
absolutely clear for me -- this is exactly the case: you can bid on multiple items, but you may (will be allowed) to win only one of them.

Unfortunately there is no other auctions right now so you cannot see the difference in rulings.

    3. The post I was referring to, the one quoted earlier from another forum, is *also* from a thread about the Icons, not a different instance of LE items sales. So that’s why I said your post and the DollDreaming post, which are both about the 2022 Dollfie Icons and not two different categories of lotto LE sales, are in disagreement — one says it is possible to win and then have to pay for multiple Icons, one says this is not possible. The post wasn’t about the (common for after events) type of sales where folks can enter for and buy numerous LE clothing items via lotto, you’re both talking about limited dolls and specifically the Icons. Maybe I’m not explaining it clearly enough, but can’t think what else to clarify.

(My personal guess is that the DollDreaming post is just mistaken, because like I said, my impression of how this category of LE doll sale worked was the same as yours.)

    4. For what it's worth, you make sense to me, and I am back to being confused again. The way Volks has it worded on their site, either explanation makes sense.

I was also hoping somebody might pipe in with a story of a person winning multiple dolls in one lottery, as that would clarify things. However, that might be too much to hope for.*

When I asked, I wondered whether it would be best to enter only for my absolute favourites (so I don't reduce my chances of getting a favourite by winning a not-quite-as-favoured version instead) or if it was best to maximize my chances at getting any of them by entering for every version I wouldn't mind owning. It was obvious that I would have to pay for anything I win, that part was very clear, but that darn "may" in the rules is too vague. I've wondered about it every time I've entered.

*Well, I entered for 4 of them again, so if by some absolute miracle I win multiple, I will be back to let people know. I'm just expecting more people than ever will enter this year, with the joints matching now, so I'm not even getting my hopes up for one.

    5. I’ve never entered a lottery as the Volks system/ rules are confusing to me, and I have been wondering this myself.

I just had a thought that maybe the ‘you can’t win multiple items’ in the Icon lottery is meaning you can enter for each of the dolls, but only once per doll, so you can win multiples, but only one of each sculpt, not 2, 3, etc of the same sculpt. I hope this makes sense, as it was hard to put it in writing ( or maybe it’s just me).

    6. @kurogane you make perfect sense and that's basically what the post from BeyondTime said -- they said you can enter once per doll and could potentially win for each that you enter for.

Also I just noticed that user has a DoA! So I'm going to tag them in and see if they have any further deets lol. @BeyondTime have you heard about people winning multiple dolls within such a situation?

    7. Maybe this experience of mine might help. Several years ago, I entered the Volks USA lottery for Midi Minoru and Ryotaro. They were also offering 2nd ed. Charlotte and Lieselotte on that lottery. A few days later, a friend asked if I could also enter for 2nd ed. Lieselotte for her, which I did. I won Ryotaro, but not Minoru, and much to my surprise, I won Lieselotte. So... it is possible to win more than one doll, and it seems random.

    8. @evilhamster13, I've red some of that thread, and sorry, but I can't understand how people can be so mistaken and so confident in their misbelieve! They so confident so easily convince ones who had proper understanding that they ware wrong! And I give up. You prefer to believe to people, not to reasoning, it's your right. I just ask you explain to me in a few simple word rules for two different auctions, the one where I can bid for multiple items but may win only one item even I have entered for several of them, and the other one where I can bid for multiple items and may win only one item of each kind I have entered for.

I am such a person. I have won both Kagamine Rin and Len in that auction. And I absolutely positive, that in that auction there was no any "You may only win one of items even if you entered for more than one item".

I did. And I know that if they allows to any one to win several kinds but only one item of each kind, they write down that in a different way.

BTW meanwhile Volks USA started new lottery:
Home Town Dolpa Kyoto 19 After Event
so anyone can check the difference with ICON lottery and try to find that "You may only win one of items even if you entered for more than one item" in its description. :)

@kurogane, if you have a time to check upper link, you could find that ruling you preferred to assume in Volks terms sounds like that:

    9. From past lotteries, with regards to Dollfie ICON, you can enter once for each doll. Under lucky circumstances you can win all of those entries, but may only win one of each. People have won multiple ICON dolls during one lottery period. RG versions of a sculpt count as separate items to their open eye counterparts, so you can enter for both if they both appear in a lottery period.

example: Entry for Serra, Nikki, Clover, and Iris; Win Nikki, Clover, Serra

    11. I just won clover and this is my first time winning a Volks doll lottery since I started collecting over a decade ago. (I haven't entered a ton though, maybe a dozen? but I lost both of the past two Icon lotteries) I figure a lot of people must have won this time since they have extra bodies to sell and it's not a big deal to make another head.
Anyway, I'm excited to get her!

    12. Yay! I won a Clover, as well! :D I'm so excited. Of course I was hoping to have ridiculous luck and get more than one, but after losing every Icon lottery so far, I'm thrilled to finally get one of my own!

Good luck to everyone else who tried -- I hope you have good news in your inbox!

    14. Won an Iris! In Gmail it was in my Promotions box, so be sure to check there!

    15. I entered for two dolls and won one of them. Sad I missed out on Nikki, I hope whoever gets her posts a lot of pictures!

And I entered for 2 of them on the same transaction, if anyone is wondering? I didn't enter two separate times.

    16. No go in trash or any other folders. I did manage to get the Dollpa 19 clothes I entered for though.

For lotteries, is there ever a 2nd round for dolls that didn’t get paid for, ect?

    17. Who did you enter for? Wondering if anyone has had yes or no on Aisha

    18. Aisha and Lilac. I'm guessing by the amount of likes on facebook for associated pictures, they may have been the most contested.

    19. Thanks. It's not clear to me if you get an email if you don't win. I saw some people on Instagram share 'you didn't win' emails so they definitely exist, but I don't know if they entered for Icons or something else

    20. Has anyone received your doll? I know that there are 3 winners of Tawny Terra have received their dollie icons on Saturday. I won Nikki and I haven’t get any notice. Volks USA mentions on the website of delivery date is late September. Is it just me the only person not receiving my dollfie icon?
