@Sianserais : awww bummer! Did you try for Lyra? I did get my email today... I wonder if they are still confirming payments for those who won and might have a few more available soon.

 

@Dybbuk - I did, yes. I'd be very surprised to get an email after today. But again, I'm fine with that! I've got plenty of projects sitting around already, and the theme this time wasn't really my style. I assume she'll be offered again eventually! I mostly did it because I have a hard time resisting a purple/lavender doll.
In the meantime, it's not like Aisha is desperate for companionship. She's been sitting on the lap of one of my Luts guys for months. Which reminds me, I should get a pic of her in her new wig one of these days.

 

@Dybbuk so far the label's been created, but I don't think she has actually shipped yet. I'll update the thread when that happens.

I will keep her makeup default, but not her styling. I love the default face-up on this year's Icons, which is the key reason I went for it this time--rockabilly isn't really my thing. This is my first Dollfie Dream-adjacent doll, and I've noticed certain style tendencies in DD fashions (Sexy Schoolgirl! Sexy Battle Schoolgirl! Sexy Party Dress! Sexy Grown-up Lady! Sexy Ingenue Lingerie! etc.), none of which seem to fit the Purple One. So far, some FreedomTeller pieces seem about right for this girl. I'll be keeping her palette to blacks, whites, reds, purples, and beige/brown, mostly. Oof, you asked a simple question, I wrote a novel! How about you? What is the styling plan??

@Sianserais I hope Lyra comes home to you when she's offered next time! Please post pics of your Aisha--she is my favorite of the newer Icon girls.

 

@Sianserais : Totally understand that!!! The good thing is Volks seems to be offering the Icon's on an annual basis So Lyra will definitely be back and hopefully in a different style next time for you. I would love to see pictures of your Aisha!!! She was the first Icon that made me start looking at these girls more closely.

@green_judy : Ok sounds great... I am watching my email like a hawk now too lol.
I have the same feeling! I actually do love the clothing set, but for some reason not necessarily the color combo with the fantasy skins - so I do plan to change mine out from default too but not sure to what yet. I love the idea of the Freedom Teller pieces for your lady. She will look a lot more sophisticated. I'm not sure what style I want for Erin... part of me wanted a more spooky look/theme for her... but I'm really afraid of darker colors staining her so I don't know. This is my first vinyl so I need to research care tips for her...

 

Welp, the tracking number has disappeared from my order page on the Volks USA website, making me think that perhaps my shipping notice was sent by mistake. I'll update here if anything changes.

EDIT: I got a shipping notice today 8/27/25 for my Erin! Eta is this Friday the 29th.

 

Incoming, also expected Friday.

 

Although my "tracker" via my gmail account is telling me she will arrive today, when I put the UPS code into the actual UPS Tracking search - it tells me she will actually arrive Wednesday, Sept. 3rd. BUMMER! I'm on vacation this week, so I would have loved the free time with her, but I will have to wait until next week. @green_judy - does your UPS tracking code still reflect today as the delivery day?

 

@Dybbuk my Lilac shipped via USPS, not UPS, and according to USPS tracking, the package is listed as 'moving through network' and expected to arrive by 9 PM tonight. I'm sorry your girl is not coming in for your vacation...!

Editing to add that USPS did not live up to expectations, LOL. No Lilac yet.

Additional edit: arrival time updated to the end of this Tuesday. (Oh, Labor Day...)

Final edit: Eagle has landed. I didn't get any sleep last night. Will unbox tomorrow!

 

I apologize for the terrible photo (and the wig in disarray!)--I'm due at work and in a hurry. A few points: She is much, much lovelier in person. The red skirt and brown wig are also much darker in person. In the promo the red skirt looks almost crimson, but in person it has brown tones. I am personally delighted and I think the color works really well for the iris-purple skin.

I'll attempt additional shots when my light is better.

I did not find the little poodle purse in her belongings. I will double-check the box and let you know if it turns up. If not, I will contact VolksUSA and see what's up.

 

@green_judy, congratulations! Her make-up is gorgeous, and I especially like her eyebrows. Great shape, position and angle

 

Thanks, @beamlette ! Her make-up is the key reason I went for it this year. Agree about the eybrows!

@green_judy : Absolutely GORGEOUS! Wow... I love her makeup!!! I She is heavenly, I cannot wait to see more of your girl. An Iris Pearly glow color girl is definitely next on the list. I also got my girl today and her poodle bag was also missing... I was wondering if I was misremembering if it was offered in the promo pictures, and it was!!! I will email them as well. Wondering if that get left out of all the orders by accident.

I will try to get some nice pictures of my girl as well. She's so beautiful... but I'm trying to decide if I want to do a different wig for her.

 

@Sianserais I am planning to try a different outfit and see if it works. Either way, I'll post pics (this time, with better lighting!).

@Dybbuk thank you! I agree, she is wonderful. I look forward to seeing your Erin...! (How interesting that neither of us got a poodle bag...!) What kind of wig are you considering for her...? I had been planning a different wig for Lilac, but I really like the color it turned out to be in real life.

 

@green_judy : I actually experimented with my Erin a bit. I was going to just use her default wig until I had time to really get her a new outfit, but I dug through my old wigs and and found two wigs that I liked on her. I'll share below~ The pearly shimmer of this vinyl is SO LOVELY! It makes me really want to see a Lilac or Lyra in person with the beautiful purple color~

Anyway... I bought this Patisserie cart at a doll show. I think it belongs to an American Girl doll set~ But it's soooo perfect with the clothing set she came with. So it's a nice stand in while I figure out how I want to customize her~ I posted more pics in her gallery thread here.

@Dybbuk wow, she's wonderful, and you got some really nice shots! I'm struck that in your photos, Erin looks slightly more.... serious? In the promo, she looked really bubbly. In your shots, it's more like she's a force to contend with!
