You have to keep in mind that Christmas isn't the holiest day of the year even in the Catholic church's collective mind, the Saturday before Easter is. Plus the church celebrates Christmas for 12 days anyway, you can't expect to be constantly reverant for that long. My family are all devout Catholics (besides me -.-) but we celebrate Christmas as more of a time to be with family, not really a solemn religious holiday.
In the risk of taking this thread further off topic, I think that statement sounded VERY racist, and I'm not happy with how you worded it in the least.
Guys, I think she didn't mean it ^^ She just didn't know how work with words.... You see, I'm christhian and celebrate Chrismas on a religious way (and actually, it is the only reason I like chrismas.. ^^'''') I guess she though they didn't have any kind of chrismas and were just calling it chrismas... I don't know ^^ - but please, let's see that we might be getting it wrongly ^^'''
I live in Canada and got my Heath through Doll & Hobby, I hope I can get a Ltd through Volk Website but if they make it only to US only I am going to really cry. Then I have to get it through ebay or other means which gonna cost more $$$$.
Well, for those who have asked about how the Limited Editions are handled, there are usually a limited number of dolls made. A certain allocation is made available to those who attend the event in Tokyo - these ALWAYS are used up. They are done through a lottery system. Another part of the allocation used to be reserved for 'an after party event' which was online. Volks handled this allocation (which was small) in two ways: one time they did a lottery, the other times, it was whoever got through got the dolls. This meant a lot of people flooded the website all at the same time and the system crashed/locked up. People kept trying to get in until the dolls were gone. This year it is still unknown how it will be done since they now have a store here in the USA. They did say something in earlier posts on their site about an 'after event' at the store. However, I read somewhere else (Aimee I think) that they are planning to stay with online events for the time being. So who knows? My question is - what does this mean: Dolls Party 14 Preceding Items Coming soon. WHAT DO THEY MEAN PRECEDING ITEMS - I have not seen that before
Actually, one small note, there are also dolls allocated for Pre-orders. A certain number of people who attend Dolpa are given the chance to order the dolls once the physical dolls at Dolpa are sold out.
This is not the place to talk about religion, really, is it? I'd much rather talk about Tokyo Boy 4 - definitely the SD16 and he looks nifty! Volks DID announce at the tea party that there will be an after event for this Dolpa at the LA store. They did not say that meant there would be no online event on the English-language site. I had thought about how this might affect the number of items that are available online, but honestly - I would not worry about it. Remember that a number of dolls were also being sent to D&H, and with that deal no longer in action, the LA store may simply get the allocation that would otherwise have gone to them; OR, they might simply use the US store as the base for all the English-language sales (offline and on) instead of shipping online dolls from Japan. Who knows. Preceding items aren't new; they've done them before. The post-Nagoya Dolpa items were supposed to be preceding items, as I recall XD It just means they'll have some limited clothes available before the Dolpa. They will also have those on the English-language site. Basically there's a LOT to speculate about and we probably won't get anywhere. I'd try not to panic and just see how Volks will handle it. Don't get me wrong, though, I'm very excited about Tokyo Boy 4 and hoping like lots of people I can get one (if I love him when they post more pics!). So I'm nervous about it too. Just seeing this thread going in some bad directions so maybe we should focus on the news? ^^;
I hope not D & H, bless their hearts, only got 4 Liz dolls last time. Also, yes, please do not discuss religion here, it always ends in tears. :sad:
Especially since it's against the rules, as well. I agree, Kallisti. But, damn. I can't wait to see a better picture of TB 4!!
Ooo, this SD16 looks too much like my boy... who all of a sudden needs a brother... T^T I need to see a bigger picture! *Rocks back and forth, clutching her knees*
The address and phone actually have been announced to the mass public.....it's in this month's edition of "Haute Doll". Mchelle
The full page ad has the physical address, phone number and web address in big letters. www.volksusa.com Michelle
I bet this Tokyo Boy is gonna be really big and heavy. It'll be hard lugging him around at convensions and stuff! Maybe you could get him a nice, frilly, pink stroller XD It's so sweet that they are having a charity event there too. They are so kind.
Oh! I didn't know it was up already! No pics yet though. *EDIT* I meant the VOLKS USA website *END EDIT*
ah well i think SD16 might be hound size... gut feeling... oh well i still love my hounds on another note dun start with that sensitive topic called religion ok on another note imagin e if u were going how r u suppose to enjoy all 3 lines? clone urself? tehehehe although i would be happy to bring my bunch of friends there and wreck havoc? lol evil me
Or maybe he's just a few inches taller than SD13 like DOT's (64cm). And that would mean all female dolls except Shall would have to wear heels around him
I like how they have Kohya up on the site like you can actually order him at any time you want -.- they're such teases.
I hope he's not too big. I was thinking about it last night, and if he was too different from the SD13 he might not fit in with the rest of the Tokyo Boys. Just my opinion though. EDIT: Wait, you can't get Kohya through the Volks USA page? T__T I was hoping that I might be able to...
