Volks Dolpa SD17 Reisner Discussion

Ah, thank you, Lady Samhainne! I honestly had no idea about the authorized dealers. I am a little bummed at not trying through either of those sources, but I've been dead-set on getting Reisner from day one, so I know it'll happen sooner or later anyways.

(I'm also holding out a small hope that there's a one-off Reisner at NYC Dolpa! )

 

I can't believe Tonight basically is Dolpa 17 in Japan and tomorrow is the VolksUSA lottery I'm So Freakin EXCITED!!!!! We should be seeing Actual Pictures of Reisner on Y!J Auctions by Tomorrow Morning

Ahaha, there really would be. XD But man, if there is one, I won't be able to resist trying!

And I'm definitely going to be stalking Yahoo!Japan tonight, just to see the limited items get listed! I'm also curious as to how high Reisner will be ending, and how much my wallet is going to be hurting once I finally can put in a bid for one.

 

I've asked multiple Volks employees about this and Volks pretty much doesn't allow their employees to buy limiteds regardless of how much they pine for a particular doll. An item in limited quantities must always be available for customers, because it looks like insider privilege if an employee owns a limited. FCS and standard dolls are their only options. It took me a while to figure out why Volks employees were so surprised to identify a Hewitt when I brought him into stores.

Congratulations to everyone who is getting a Reisner! I was waaay too far down the WLD list.

Thanks for that St. James! Its interesting that Volks employees can't buy limiteds AT ALL. Much less be first on the list. I can see why they have that policy in place though. And it does make me wonder if it ought to apply to Volks authorized dealers as well.

Well, I've been watching the auctions pop up on Y!J for the Dolpa 17 items, and so far only one of the Reisner listings has an actual photo of his face though it's a horribly lit, low quality photo. But damn. I think I like the default better than the one-off's faceup! I can't wait until after NYC Dolpa when I can start hunting for my own Reisner!

 

Even in that low light, you can tell he has thick, lush lower lashes, elegant brows, and an overall aura of smexiness about him!

 

Those lower lashes are very reminiscent of the default faceup on my Scarface, which are just stunningly beautiful in person! Oh man, this boy is a total heartbreaker, isn't he?

 

Yeah, yeah he is. And I'm sticking with the notion that he and Cecil are "sworn brothers" not blood relatives
