Volks Dolpa SD17 Reisner Discussion

Okay, just got back from spending WAAAAYYYY too much money at the Volks store. The store manager is in Japan and is expected to return this week. Here's what the very kind Zillah & (lost her name--please forgive me!) mentioned:

1) The store manager *may* be making an announcement regarding Reisner (and the other Dollpa 17 dolls) when he gets back, so watch Toppi's blog over the next 7 days.
2) Reisner is likely normal-skin.
3) Reisner is likely to come to the US.

There were no promises made on any of that, just that these things were strong possibilities. No speculation of any kind was made about his height.

 

Ooh, even if its nothing definite, the info is much appreciated Lady Samhainne! I hope Volks releases more official information soon.

I was actually lucky enough to get Isao Nanjou v. 1, but I can't remember whether I did the after event or purchased it through Doll and Hobby. I know that I purchased my gorgeous Cyndi II through Doll and Hobby ... they had one left over and had a drawing to choose the person who could purchase her.

I believe that a great deal of the reason that the VolksUSA after event and two U.S. dealers get their dolls later than anybody else is because the Volks Japan website after event involves EMS delivery (for which we pay), whereas the dolls being sent to the USA vendors are sent surface (by ship). At least, I seem to remember having heard that.

Okay I want one! I hope Volks USA will do a lottery because he`s really what I have been waiting for as a doll from Volks. I wanted a FCS F-17 but this guy is even better =)

I do have a few questions... since Cecil is usually shown with a scared face... Do you think both Reisner`s eyes are intact? I truly hope so because for character I have in mond the blindfols on on the Other eye.

I do hope he`ll be availlable through Volks USA... I can`t even begin to imagine the customs I`ll have to pay to get him ;.;

 

Well it says SD17 so we know what size SD16 is right? We can guess an estimate height of............67-70cm no way he could be like SOOM Mecha Angel at 80cm safe to say.

I translated all Reisner's specs -- and his story -- into English and posted it on my site. Just thought that you guys might enjoy to read it in English instead. I'm afraid that I can't help with the height issue or the other eye, though... I wish I knew. *pines for him*

 

It's almost fun that so many of us are over the moon for this boy... I mean... WOW! I love your translation of his story, too--nicely done.

 

I actually just had a realization of a really, really obvious fact: at least part of Reisner's higher cost than Yukinojo can be directly attributed to the fact that he comes with an extra hand and a sword. Keeping in mind the usual market costs for such things, his price is right in line with Yukinojo's. Though it won't make a bit of difference in my decision to get this boy, I now feel a LOT better about his pricing.

 

do you think he has two eyes, or would one be scarred up like Cap Cecil???

No one knows yet, but I've been thinking about it, and I'd guess that if the eye under the patch is scarred, it's going to be a painted scar rather than one cut in the mold. They really highlighted the resin-scar on Cecile of the Deep Black Ocean. It's part of what makes Cecile unique. It would be really odd to have two dolls in the same series scarred in exactly the same way.
