Dollshe and the sculptor may not advertise his products on this forum. Sales may not be discussed, no news threads may be posted regarding new releases. This ban does not impact any dolls by Dollshe ordered by November 8, 2023. Any dolls ordered after November 8, 2023, regardless of the date the sculpt was released, are banned from this forum as are any dolls released under his new or future companies including but not limited to Club Coco BJD.     1. :) That's not just manga proportions--it's true for actual people as well. Most good growth & development books will show the progression of body proportions through adolescent development, and--proportional to the rest of the body--the head does get smaller.

      You're absolutely correct, though there are exceptions (think Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Leo DiCaprio, etc. for real life examples of those baby faces). I think that's part of why I'm in LOVE with this boy where I was lukewarm on Yukinojo. I like the sweet face :)

    2. It isn't so much that the head grows smaller - actually your head just stops growing while the rest of your body continues to grow. Of course your ears, nose, and in my case waistline never stop growing. XD Your head never actually shrinks - though when you get really old your fat layers may start to degenerate so it looks like your head is shrinking but it's just the skin getting closer to the bone in your skull.

    3. Head still grows :) It just doesn't grow as fast or as much, and it stops sooner than most of the rest of the bones/structure of the body.

    11. The bones really do grow and fuse throughout adolescence, only really solidifying in early adulthood. ;) Causes real problems if they fuse too soon! (Sorry to be OT, but I'm a medical editor, so stuff like this is my bread and butter.)

      More *on topic* is the fact that I find it wonderful and fascinating that sculptors for these dolls have subtly capitalized on this fact to give age and maturity to the dolls with more than just older faces and bigger muscles. It's one of the reasons I really love this hobby!

    13. Ah... well, my less charitable theory is that poor ole Joe got a few comments comparing him to G.I. Joe, so they made a leaner, taller boy.

      That, or possibly the folks at Volks are also secretly into the whole yaoi thing, and are just putting out two older boys so that Joe doesn't have to be seme all the time :lol:

      on a less uhm..amusing note xD I want hiiim ;_; the longer I look at that sweet face, the more I want him..I don't have the money right now, but I might try and get him on the aftermarket..that smile just does it for me ;_; *is melting*

Ok, so all the descriptions on VolksUSA and on superdollfie.net (links in the first post) say that Reisner comes with "Doll, wig, hat, necklace, shirt, bracelet, harness and scabbard, long jacket, double string pants, buckle shoes, eyepatch, gloves, the Captain's Sword, optional right sword hand "

      What gloves? I don't see gloves in any of the pictures so I'm a bit confused.

    19. I looked at the picture, didn't see the gloves. It is either glare from my screen or from the flash in the photograph... but it's hard for me to make out many things in that first scan. :sweat

    20. It's the one nearest to the spine of the page, next to his wig. You can see it on the Dolpa 17 page, it has a clearer one somewhere. Hope it helps :sweat
