      There was an issue of me putting two of an item in my cart and halfway through the checkout process someone else ordered one as well, so it took one of the item out of my cart giving it to them. There were only two in stock, so there was nothing that could be done about it. In other words, they did nothing to solve my problem and I had to suck it up and continue to check out the one remaining of that item.

      * How was the communication? Excellent. I put in the wrong CCV for my credit card. They contacted me via e-mail to ask for it with VERY specific instructions NOT to e-mail them any other info. I replied via their website and the problem was resolved the same day I replied and shipped out later that day.
      * How easy was it to pay? Very easy, I used my credit card.
      * How long did it take to ship? Next day. Would have been same day, but I gave typo-ed when filling out my payment information. They fixed it for me after I told them the correct info.

      It was wonderful quality, I was pleasantly surprised. I am really in shock of the quality of these shoes, with all the little details on them being in perfect condition.

    12. I usually don't leave feedback for Volks but will do so this time because the service team helped me track and resolve a shipping problem. Somewhere along the way, my postal code was logged wrongly although it was correctly written on the mailing label. The EMI package was held in Mississauga postal facility for 3-4 weeks. Canada Post did not allow me to let me resolve the problem and insisted that the sender make an inquiry about the problem through USPS. Volks USA (the sender) filed a research and took the trouble call USPS regarding this matter. The problem was resolved and the parcel finally arrived safely. I'm very impressed with the trouble and effort taken by Volks staff.

    16. JUST found this. Figured I'd reply even though I'm a pinch late.

      COMPANY NAME: Volks USA
      * What did you order? A MSD "Hisui" Assembly kit, extra wig, pair of stockings, two stringing tools and extra string, wig caps
      * When did you order? In the summer of 2009

      * How was the communication? Good. I was still a new doll owner back then so I probably didn't ask all the questions that I should have, but what I did ask them in my first email they replied very promptly and politely.
      * How easy was it to pay? Very easy.
      * How long did it take to ship?
      I'm going to say it took around 1 1/2 months to 2 months.
      * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion? No.I ended up (for all the items, which there weren't many of) paying to the tune of $800 which what should have only stayed around the $650 bracket with taxes and such. The customs bill was HUGE! I enjoyed the doll, what it came with, and etc. However, the stringing hole inside one of her legs was CLOSED. I had to take a very small screwdriver and stab it open enough so I could get the string through (without damaging the doll). I did not think to report this until MUCH later (2 years). It was too late then.
      * Did the item look like the sales pictures? Yes and no. I had thought she would come with the face-up, however nowhere on her particular page was it noted that she wasn't going to come with one. I also thought that she would come with the underwear shown in the picture. Although this was partially my fault for being a new doll owner and not knowing how to ask these questions and know about these sorts of things. Without her face-up the doll's head looked VERY different to me than the pictures, leaving me a little disappointed with the sculpt.
      * Were you satisfied with the product? Overall I was overjoyed since it was my very first doll. I was a little ignorant and naieve about certain things that I ended up not asking questions about or overlooking. On the whole, the company didn't make mistakes (except that leg thing). I did.
      * If you weren't satisfied, how did the company solve your problem? They have not. I never ended up reporting anything (I didn't know that I could/should until a long time after). I had to fix her leg myself (without damaging her), as well as I bought her a new head to replace the head that I was displeased with.
      * Would you order from this company again? Perhaps. This is a big maybe for me. I really enjoyed the quality of their dolls, but I felt the selection was a little lacking. I am more knowledgeable of owning a doll now, so I know not to make the same mistakes (and have not repeated those mistakes with my 2nd doll I've purchased that JUST shipped). I would order from them again, but I would be sure to ask questions this time, and lots of them. The customs was BEASTLY though ($150).

      I received an email from Volks today regarding my problems, they simply told me they do not provide exchange parts for overseas customers. I was not expecting that lack of service from such a well known company. But maybe people outside the USA and Japan are second class in their viewing and do not deserve any service after giving their money to them. I wonder now what had happened if I had received the doll broken. So I would say they did not solve my problem at all.

      maybe if the doll attracts me very much, but whenever I see a Volks doll I might buy in the future I will think of the fact that when it breaks I can get no replacement.       I received an automated notice when my order was placed, and another notice when my order was shipped. I did not need to contact the company directly with any questions or concerns.

      * How easy was it to pay?
      Very easy--credit card payment is built into the checkout.

      * How long did it take to ship?
      My order shipped in 2 days--Monday, April 25, 2011. It was delivered on Friday, April 29, 2011.

      * Was the quality appropriate for the price, in your opinion?
      Yes, it was. I was also very happy about the shipping costs that I was charged. I ordered a very large item--a doll carrier--and the shipping was under $20.

      * Did the item look like the sales pictures?
      The carrying case looks very similar to the sales pictures, but there's a depth of colour to the tweed that doesn't show as well in the pictures. The tweed is comprised of several different strands of coloured thread, and there are many subtleties in the overall look of the material. I think that the strong lighting in the item's pictures wash out some of the colours; they appear more noticeable in real life.
      The MSD shoes look identical to the sales pictures.

      * Were you satisfied with the product?
      I am very satisfied. The doll bag is well-constructed and very beautiful. The tweed is absolutely gorgeous in person, and the antique gold hardware accents the pinkish cast of the tweed and the coordinating plum-ish brown straps and zipper. The case is very roomy. I can easily fit both my SD and my MSD inside with extra space. I think it might even be possible to fit two SDs together, but I'd need to borrow a friend's doll to test my hypothesis. The pockets inside of the case are very useful, too. One thing that I really appreciate is that there are two slides to adjust the shoulder strap. This keeps the shoulder strap's padding centered on the strap, and allows for very even readjustment of the strap.
      The shoes are darling and very well made. I don't have any complaints!

      Yes, I would definitely order from Volks again.

      I would buy Volks products second-hand depending on the condition of the second-hand item.
