1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Volks fetish? (I hope nobody is offended by this)

Aug 25, 2004

    1. I wouldn't call it a fetish as a preference based upon reliability of product meeting my expectations. I really like Souldoll's Osu and Luts' Senior Delfs a lot, but when it comes time to fork over cash for the item, it's always for Volks.

    2. I really love Cerberus Project. She shape of their eyes, nose and head is pure love for me. :love

    3. I dont actually own one or have any immediate plans to get one, but I love Dollstown sculpts the best. They are all so beautiful. :D I'd have every single one if I had the money.

Never saw the big deal about Volks and Luts.. they're all pretty, but just too plain for me.

    4. I have to admit, out of all the dolls I've seen, I think Luts/CP are probably my favourite. They have so many sculpts that I love. But I also like a number of other ones, for example I am currently staring puppy-eyed at DZ Shoyo-3. So cute! This all relates to the dolls which I would consider buying - as for other people's dolls, I love anything that is pretty and/or is to my tastes. ;)

    5. I think DollZone is my favourite, followed closely by B&G, but really I haven't looked thoroughly into every company/brand intensely, so I wouldn't know.

My Luna (dz yume) is such a cute pest though

    6. I definitely have Volks leanings, although I only have one BJD so far (and yes, it is a Volks doll). I do find that I love more than enough Volks sculpts to keep me occupied and broke for long enough that I don't need to branch out into other areas of temptation! Also, I live in Japan, and so the potential to participate in the community and the availability of the products are both pluses to me. I guess with Volks it helps that I've gotten the chance to see most of their sculpts in person (one trip to Sato will do it!), which really can change one's opinion of a doll.

That said, I regularly see really gorgeous sculpts from other companies. A friend of mine has a BF Tommy that is just sooooo adorable and gorgeous.

    7. I must admit I have a preference to Volks, the quality is out of this word, the resin is just perfect in texture and colour and they make more sculpts I like then anyone else does. i LIKE THE sd'S, THE msd, SDC and YO SD's so they have a whole range of things I love. I adore the quality and design of their clothes and shoes too.

So yes, I am a volks girl and proud of it. Now if only they weren't so hard to get >.>

    8. Have you seen the thread where they are planning on sending a photoalbum to Volks president to have a Volks store in Europe? I think that's a great idea if a Volks store is opened in Europe. Viva la Volks! And other companies too as I do appreciate Luts and Souldoll dolls. *skulks away sheepishly* :)

    9. Of course I've seen it, I was one of the first to sign up for it.

    10. It's Souldolls for me. I used to think that the reason Gwenllian was my favourite over Alaw was because Alaw arrived on a bad day, now I've got Zeelzaroth at home, I know I just prefer Souldolls! (I do love Alaw though!)

    11. Makes me smile, I looked back to my ans nearly 4 years ago.... where I only had 3 dolls... 2 CP 1 Volks...

Now I have alot more Volks dolls, followed closely by CP/Luts/Fairyland..

Id say now I prefer Volks, but only just lol

    12. I'm definitely a Volks girl, I own only Volks dolls at the moment, and 90% of the dolls on my wishlist are also Volks. I do like other doll companies aswell but it's always the body that puts me off, but I love the Volks bodies with a passion. I love the feel, quality and weight of the resin, and majority of their head sculpts appeal to me. I also love their clothing, shoes, eyes - especially the zouks, and also the way they carry their company and services. The only thing that I dislike about Volks is their doll stock photo's and the default faceups, I believe they don't do the dolls any justice at all!

    13. The Volks dolls look beautiful when I have seen them in person, but I find the website frustrating--not enough pictures, most things out of stock because of the small "editions" (for a lack of a better word) that they make, so it's hard to plan and save up for them. I also have trouble matching mold number to faces; I would personally prefer names, even goofy ones for marketing purposes, and ordering is..well..not simple!
All of these things probably add to the mystique of the dolls, and I won't say they aren't gorgeous...it's just that I'm kind of busy and it's easier to just go to the DollZone or DOD website, moon over a mold I can look at whenever I want, and eventually just send them the money and they send me a doll:)

    14. volks for me!!

    15. Well... In terms of doll stuff in general, I have a lot of Dollmore stuff, not just including my doll. Haha. I like a lot of different brands of dolls though, so I don't think I particularly prefer one brand over another.

    16. Even though I own only one and have three others from other companies, Volks has always been my favorite company. I like most of the dolls they make and except for one, every new doll I buy will be from them.

    17. I don't know if I have a specific attachment to any company though i do think CP/Luts/Fairyland dolls are really beautiful. I've never been huge into Volks, and seem to find any dolls on their site that really catch my eye.

    18. I'm definitely a Volks girl. I like dolls from other companies too, but never could bring myself to buy them up till now.

    19. I adore volks even though im only now getting my first full volks, though that love is closely followed by luts.

    20. Hm. I do like Volks. The feel of their resin is very substantial and nice. I don't prefer their SD bodies, though, being slightly immature for my tastes. I love many of their limited molds (unfortunately), such as Williams, Reisner, and Cristal.

I don't prefer any company over the other, though. All my dolls are from different companies, to be honest. So I suppose I don't have a fetish at all.
