Volks fetish? (I hope nobody is offended by this)

I have a migidoll "fetish". =3 I wish I could own every one of them. I also have a "fetish" for SOOM Monthlies.

 

Most my dolls are made by Luts and Soom.
I think my preference lies mainly with the Korean companies.
I tend to find the faces of Volks dolls in general a bit too child-like and gentle for me.

 

Iv read through a bunch of comments and sheesh. WHERE IS THE DOLLMORE LOVE!? XD I love dollmore to no end, I admit that most of their dolls though arent my cup of tea, but I have dolls from dollmore, my first and my seventh dolls are from there. I love the quality of their clothes, and there customer service is wonderful. Other then that I have three dolls from luts, dont much care for luts though, One DoD that I had gotten second hand so no opinion about the company yet, one from bambicrony, one from piposland, and then one from Crobidoll. But since I got my first from dollmore, Dollmore is my first doll company love. X3

LittleSkyLark - If they were banned for making this threath, the thread would have been deleted a long time ago. So I dont think it was that that got them banned.. do wonder about that sometimes though.

 

At the moment, my wish lists includes one or two anticipated Soom MDs babies, Souldoll Chiron/ Senior Delf Dahlia as a couple, maybe if DoD brings out another girl like Delphine.
Regarding dollmore...
I don't feel comfortable with anything they make anymore after the controversy between them and Dollshe

 

woo! DOLLMORE LOVE!!!! my first and favorite doll is is a DM. i have three now, and will own at least two more in the future...so you are not alone! and i agree about their customer service...i would keep going back a million times just for that alone. especially after dealing with other companies.

i also adore B&G...for some reason almost every sculpt they have put out appeals to me. same goes for Migidoll, and im really starting to appreciate Luts dolls (i really didnt when i first got in to BJD). but Dollmore is my main love :3

as for Volks (keeping slightly OT) i dont care for them much. i love them when they are owned by other poeple (i.e. my friends volks dolls, i think theyre gorgeous) but i have no desire to own one myself.

 

Not really, I own quite a few Volks, but it's not my favourite company and I don't think of my Volksdolls in any way different from my other dolls. They're just dolls that I really like.

 

I am a die-hard Volks Fan!! I can only get interested in Volks. I just think that the quality in better. I do have a boy crush on Soom Spinel, but I know that I would never cheat on Volks and buy a Soom. I am biased when it comes to all things Japanese.

 

I do have other dolls from other companies, but I am drawn more towards Volks dolls. I think Souldoll dolls are lovely too, but I prefer my Volks dolls over my others now and I am seriously considering whittling down my collection to only consist of my Volks dolls because of this preference. It's not that other dolls are not as good, it's just that Volks dolls have that special something else for me and by limiting myself to only Volks dolls it might stop the endless multiplying that's going on in my collection!

 

Definitely some Dollmore love over here.
It took me forever to actually find a doll that attracted me enough to bring it home and it was Dollmore that stole my heart, so I hold a soft spot for them. While I'm not sure if I'll be bringing home another Dollmore doll anytime soon *has too long of a wishlist* I always find myself on their website for one reason or another.
At the moment though, I'm going through a bit of a DIM phase xD; Must have Lloyd ... He keeps creeping up closer to the top of my wish list, haha.
But really, looking at what I eventually would like to have, no 2 dolls are from the same place ... I'm pretty all over the place.

As for Volks though ... In all honestly I was never a big fan. I find myself attracted to very few of their dolls. They just don't appeal to me.

I have an Elfdoll and Soom thing going on! I have three Elfdoll girls and 2 Soom monthlies, had three but one's on layaway for someone...and their last Daae head. and in the past i had Kyrie and Smokey Day Gena.

Luts first captured me with the DES, DES Vamp and Soony....I still have my first resin head- a modded Soony head..and I have MNF Shushu Elf, Vampire, Shiwoo elf and had a DES..but she is from Fairyland.

and I have some Dollmore love, had a Dollmore Rosee Asha, a Suntan Asha..and now I have a Fashiondoll Sara and an Erico on the way..but they are OT here.

 

Honestly, I'm not all that fond of Volks. There are a couple of molds I like, mainly the f31 head *sigh of longing* and Kurt, and mayyybe one or two others. The bodies I don't particularly care for, but I'm particular about bodies, and I have at least one boy whose body I don't like nearly as much as my other guys' bodies. I'm a fan of Dollzone for the most part ( I can't help it, I love those weird little faces with their strange lips and odd eye shapes, my favouite boys are my favourites precisely because they're weird looking) , and Luts. I also reeeeally like Dollshes (I can haz Saint plz?). Also, Soom (horns and hooves and wings! GAH!) has a little piece of my soul all to itself.

 

Favouritism from me would be CP dolls. Luts Delfs and Fairyland dolls. I love those so much, all time favourite look. I own a few too. I also love Volks dolls. CP for eternal beauty and Volks for simplistic beauty. I like a fair few other companies but these two are probably the ones I like looking at the most.

 

Most anything sculped by CP appeals to me, whether from Luts or Fairyland (when they split I about had a heart attack realizing how many lines of dolls were going to come out that would tug at my wallet). I default to them when I'm looking to shell a character, and then branch outward from there if there isn't anything suitable. I'm starting to appreciate Luts' independently sculpted dolls as well, so yet more of my money is headed in their direction.

 

The first doll I ever held was a Volks SD girl... though I can't remember what sculpt, sadly! XD I think she was a Volks Elena? Aside from that girl, I'm not a huge fan of their dolls. Something about the face sculpts just bugs me, despite how great I've heard their quality is. Their mini and tiny dolls are adorable, though!

Hmmm.... I wouldn't say I have a "fetish" for a particular company, but if throw out the sexual connotations, that certainly fits certain collectors who favor one company's sculpts. ^.^

 

I have sort of a thing for Migidoll. I have a Ryu and a Miho, and they're the only two dolls I have right now. Their sculpts are just so beautiful I guess I like Migidoll better than Volks because they're a tad more realistic than most of their dolls, even though I like some of the bodies. But the price scares me away from even those.

But they're not the only dolls I have planned for myself. I want KDF Cherry and Bory twins and a Puki pongpong. So I guess I like CP too xD

 

Yeahh I've got a Volks fetish, you could say.

I also have an Iplehouse and SOOM fetish that need expanding, haha.

 

That's tough, because there are a lot of companies I really like. I love Ninodoll, and Bobobie, and I've become much more fond of Volks over time (they kind of snuck up on me, lol). I have a couple CP dolls, and one of my all time favorite headsculpts is a CP, however, I'm not sure that I'll end up with many more. I'm more likely to end up with more Ninodoll, BBB, and Volks. I wouldn't mind another Soom Gem or two either--especially since there's one that looks like another one of my characters. However, I have such a mix of dolls, it's hard for me to predict who I will or won't end up with in the end. Plus when I buy for specific characters I have to base it more on how the sculpt works and less on which company it comes from (that's one reason I have such an odd group).

I used to adore CP dolls like no other. I still like them, but Volks totally pulled one over on me. I didn't like them at first and now I just love their Yos and a lot of their other sculpts... While I still think that CP/Delf dolls are really pretty, I don't really want to own any anymore. (except maybe a Chiwoo...maybe)
