1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Volks School Head C

Oct 23, 2006

    1. I don't know if I'd use Crescent anymore since their new deposit policy is so irritating to work around, since from what I've read it seems like I have to pay a deposit then send the entire total of the item once I win and not use my deposit towards it. What do they do with the deposit? Why can't I use it towards my total? It's all very confusing :doh

    2. Yeah that is one irritating point but it's done with the idea that people are bidding on multiple auctions at once; you can usually just ask for your deposit back, then pay up. I still prefer Crescent Shop... Rinkya is hopelessly overpriced and Celga, while wonderful service-wise, doesn't have real time bidding. I don't like SMJ either for their "surprise" shipping -- may be cheap, may be expensive, may be quick, may take forever, you never know!

    3. Can a School C head fit on an MSD body?

    4. Nope, its far too big at about 9" around:daisy
but there are MSD sized versions, called Rock(boy) and Margret(girl).

      Sera~

    5. Ah ha. Thanks Sera, I want to take the makeup class at Dolpha in NY, and that is the head I want. I'm not too much for big boys and girls, but I thought I will probably fall in love with the head, and then need to get him/her a body!

    6. I think the School C head looks best on an SD13 girl/SD10 boy/SD10 girl (they are the same size) neck. Even the Volks promotional image of a School C SD13 boy looked a tad awkward :sweat You can see some of Volks' School C models on my page here.

    7. I find 16mm eyes usually work well for my boy :)

    8. Seconding that:) I think the wispy lashes help. My partner's Sch C originally wore a pair of 16mms but they gapped at the front, so we bought her the same color in 18mms. I put her old 16mm in your boy while he was here for the pictures (yep, two grey eyed Sch Cs, it was so cute:XD:).

      Sera~

    9. Ooh. I have to buy new eyes then.

    10. I use 18mm Mystic eyes in my boy, and I think he looks great with them in. :>

    11. He's beautiful :) but aren't his eyes modified? It makes the proper size different :sweat

    12. All those Schoolhead Cs. . .
It's my dreamhead, it really is.
It's just so so annoying that it's quite hard to get one.

    13. Its not really hard, just keep an eye out and your head high. They'll come around, you'll see:)

      Sera~

    14. omg i love that head ! <3

    15. That's true. But most of them have or no face-up or a face-up which I don't like. And I would love to buy a head with a good face-up so I don't have to change anything.
      But that's my lazy-ness, I guess ^_^"

    16. Okay I do have a question on the School heads... I want (if I am able to get in) to go to the School they will have at the NY Doll Party. If I go to the class and buy a head... will they sell me a body to go along with it? OR do I have to look around for a body on my own?

    17. Japanese classes just recently began selling SD10 and SD13 bodies for the heads, it's possible that the NY Dolpa will do this too, but I don't think Volks has so far said anything. They will likely post any new info on their NY Dolpa site and/or Toppi's blog :daisy

    18. What non-volks body would fit a school c head in proportion and resin? Does anyone know? I love School c heads but I can't afford a full Volks doll. I will be lucky to afford a school c head period since their prices keep being raised to $400...

    19. Actaully doll bodies regardless of brand are about the same in price range. You could get an SD10 pureskin girl body for about $400 (which may even include shipping), or an oldskin one for $300 or less.

      Cheers,
      Sera~

    20. I found a pureskin SD10 boy body for $400, which is pretty reasonable in terms of this hobby ^^;. Timchener's School C had an elfdoll boy body at some stage, I think? Not sure about resin match on that one, but the proportions looked good in photos. Anyone have their school C on something else? I'm curious about other matches too!
