What sucks is that I haven't been able to have fun with her due to crazy work schedules and emergency out of town trips. But she gives me a bit of happiness when I peek into her little box.

Oooh man, so hard to put it on! Lol, it just kept bouncing off her head. Somehow it managed to stay on, haha.

Hoping there are lots of Sapphires available too so a lot of people can get her!!

 

I'm going to resist Sapphire, although she's been growing on me too... I'm going to pin my hopes on Regulus, and cross my fingers that he's offered at the After Event. No matter which way I fold it, I just can't manage both...even though she's so pretty...

 

I swear the Volks girls have THE hardest heads to get wigs on without some kind of wig cap, lol. I remember getting so frustrated to the point of just getting up and walking away from my girl, who was my first doll ever, and had such a big, round cue-ball of a head.

Those silicone wig caps have kept me from screaming in frustration more than once.

 

In response to Volks making Princess Sapphire ridiculously pretty, I have committed the sin of attempting to steal her look.

I'm praying VolksUSA doesn't have a lottery for her so I won't be extra tempted.

 

Good Luck to all the folks going for Sapphire! My wallet is safe from her! I hope I can get a Maximillian.

Also, has anyone used Volk's Makeup Renewal Service? If so, what do you think of it?

I figured this would be a good place to ask this but can anyone identify this Volks sculpt for me? The seller calls her "Safia" but I haven't found any dolls by that name. Thank you for your time!

@SaltedPretzel Safia is a Volks face up artist. Maybe you could ask the seller if this F-72 is painted by her? Ask for a photo of the head plate and inside the head to see if there is a signature.

 

Yep... Saifa is one of Volks' artists. This may be one of her one-offs. (If it is, the headplate should say so rather than having the usual FCS combination of letters and numbers-)

Both of mine from Saifa do have a signature inside the head, but I don't know if they do that for every head they paint or not.

@SaltedPretzel She does look like a F-72, but definitely see if you can get some photos of the inside of her head. Not only will there be a sculpt number that will confirm which head she is, but also (hopefully!) Saifa's signature. Did the seller really not know? She seems too pretty and expensive of a doll to not know any details of. Especially since she looks to be on the SDGr body.

 

She showed me the inside of the head and the headplate. Both Safia's signature and the one off headplate are present. Mystery solved! She doesn't know which one off release the head is but that's not too worrying for me.

Random question- if you were the original purchaser of a one-off through VolksUSA and the face up gets damaged (scratched, chipped, flaking due to age), can you pay to have the head shipped back and redone?

 

I was currently looking on the Japanese Volks site and fell in love with the sculpts being offered on the Full Choice System for spring 2022. It seems to only be available in person in certain locations in Japan. Is it possible to order Full Choice System dolls when you're not living in Japan? Are these sculpts available again for order after this spring event ends?

 

@Fuailei Volks USA has an online FCS a few times a year, but they don't offer every head sculpt and body when they do, just a few selected heads that they announce shortly before orders start. So if there's a sculpt you really want then you'd need to get a service that offers to do FCS for you in Japan.

 

Sadly, Volks does not allow shipping for this service. It can only be done in Japan or if they ever offer a Dolpa event again. I know that it is very disappointing.

 

Nope. Of the one-offs in my crew... Saifa and Tsukimi's are signed. One of the others tends to draw little mushrooms (That's either Aone or Kinoko. I would have to check the gang to say for sure which, though. Preeeeeety sure it's Kinoko, but it's been awhile-). The ones I have from Valico and K. Mayura don't have any sort of signature markings at all.

I'm not sure if the repaint thing is available to US owners. I haven't had to try sending my Alain or midi F-09 back.

 

It's Kinoko who draws mushrooms. Kinoko = mushroom in Japanese.
