1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Volks Super Dollfie - SD, SD13, SD16, SD17, SDGr, SDGou & FCS - XXXII

Jan 9, 2022

    1. Wow!! Congratulations @I<3MySD !! :love Sometimes, you just gotta Y!J. Been there, done that. No regrets.:thumbup

      It's great to see Volks do these 360 videos on the dolls! It gives a person a better idea of the sculpting. Jury is still out for me on Regulus. I like him but I feel like if I got him, he'd compete too much with my Beast Claude (who really needs some photos) and right now it's all about the girls for me. Funny how the hobby can change a person! :sweat Here is hoping Volks keeps offering some variety in the resin! Now, if only they would release a tan version of Lieselotte or Charolette.:abambi:

    2. Oh my gosh he's so so cute!!! I absolutely adore the lips and eye shape on F-17, he's so so so cute!

    3. I'm still debating about Regulus. I want another tan doll, but he appears a little to on the orange side for my tastes. Of course there's always dye. :evilplot:

      @Aiko-chan Your F-17 looks adorable.

      @I<3MySD Congrats on your Sapphire.

    4. @I<3MySD Thanks for that link - for some reason I wasn't aware Volks had a channel, LOL, so that's me subscribed... Your Sapphire is so lovely - congrats on snagging her - she's much prettier in your photo, if that's possible...

      And seeing Maximillian all the way round has led me to think if I couldn't get Regulus, I'd be just as happy with him in a different wig! For me it's the sculpt that's to die for as much as the tan skin tone. Oh dear, what a lovely conundrum to have...or enter for both!

      @Aiko-chan Your Sam is adorable!

    5. Does anybody know what diameter(s) of elastic are used in the SDGr girls, please?

    6. Thank you @pris84, @Cloudedmind and @Alice80!

      It is so hard to decide between all of these amazing releases. After Regulus I am praying for a break! Volks has been churning out the amazing releases!

      @Kurosakura I'm not sure if this is helpful or not, but on Volks' website they have the elastic listed for SD/SD13/SDGr all as one, so I believe just the standard is compatible! If you need the exact diameter please say so and I can grab that measurement for you!

    7. Thank you for the reply! Yes, I saw that on the Volks webshop listing too. I think I am getting myself unduly mixed up because I thought I saw someone mention the body having different diameters for arms and for the legs. But I guess that was something they did out of personal preference rather than it being standard. Thank you for your help.

    8. I have a question for the Volks hive mind, regarding doll stands, please...

      I haven't really used them in the past as I normally prop my gang up in their cupboard or display them seated, but I'm moving into my new house soon, and was thinking that I'd build myself a little database of who I have and when I got them, and take an accompanying picture (which will also allow me to make any decisions of who might be leaving, as we're really at capacity...)when I'm unpacking my dolls, so a stand of some sort would be useful for that. So I have an SD stand in my Volks cart, but I can't see if there are any for bigger than SD, and then there's a little extender thingie, but it's only 6cm.

      So does the extender thingie (which isn't in stock anyway) extend the stand to SD16/17 boy size, or do Volks have other solutions for the bigger dolls that I haven't seen? I don't have an SD17 boy (yet) but my Yukinojo will need to take his place in the photo queue...

    9. @Kurosakura Ohhhh yes that definitely makes sense. Sometimes it's really hard to get that thick elastic through the arm channels :lol: I could absolutely see someone using a smaller size for that!

      @Alice80 I have found that the waist stand A will work for SD17 boys even without the extender. I wouldn't put them out in the gusty wind without it, but if you're doing it temporarily to move things around it should be okay! I have 2 of my SD17 boys on that stand without extenders. If they are wearing shoes, that also helps to keep them locked down so to speak. They haven't fallen down...yet :aeyepop:

    10. I don't have any Volks stands, but the "Invisable" (sic) stand from Alice Collections works pretty well. I have one in the 1/3rd size and one in the 70cm size, and both hold up their dolls pretty well.

    11. Hello! I don’t have any SD17 boys but I do have a few versions of the VOLKS stand ^.^ I’d definitely recommend the ones with steel base - they are much sturdier than the wood & less likely to get damaged! I find that for most stability the waist type is better - (my Mytyl has previously slipped from a saddle stand during an earthquake)..

      I also have the same preference for SDM stands. Tho I never had an experience of SDM slipping off of a saddle type stand.

    12. Thanks for your input @I<3MySD, @davri and @KristinaKai! I was preferring to get the steel based ones as they are in stock, but had thought about getting saddle ones...I'll have a think. Maybe one of each will work for me - and now I know they work with the bigger dolls, I'm happier about ordering.

    13. If i anticipate moving prior to shipping, is there a way to update my address in volksusa?

    14. If you log in and go to "Profile Details" you can update your address, however if you already ordered something and are waiting for it, you might have to email or call them.

      If you used VolksUSA FCS- that's a separate site you'd need to update too.

    15. I personally prefer saddle stands because I always feel like there is less chance of them faceplanting forwards with them if their legs buckle. Volks stands are nice and sturdy though regardless of the style.

      Managed to get some photos of Yizhen and Hamlet this weekend I really liked.

    16. @Kim They look lovely!

    17. Anyone here ordering Anna or Elsa?
      I’ve ordered Elsa at Dolpa - I’m so exited for her!

    18. Well that's a pity though not surprising at all. And looking on their page I don't see GL membership allowed either. :sighHopefully we get an update otherwise. I really wanted to buy Regulus direct in the hopes I could order extra hands if they are available.

      @KristinaKai I'll be getting both but since they will be coming via USA (thanks to a lovely helper) I'll have to wait until Fall to get them. I think I'll try to work on their Frozen 2 outfits while I wait. that and see if I can do an upgraded version of Elsa's original dress. Volks version is missing a few details, like a lot of shimmer.:lol: Don't blame them from avoiding handling glitter though. That dress is notoriously hard to do as a cosplay so making it smaller is going to be a challenge. It will be fun experimenting to see what works, rhinestones, beads, sequins or thread!
