1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Volks Super Dollfie - SD, SD13, SD16, SD17, SDGr, SDGou & FCS - XXXII

Jan 9, 2022

    1. I noticed in my Elsa's paperwork that Volks recommends using Tamiya X20 enamel thinner to remove hot glued eyes. Has anyone done this - does it work well? I've done the freezer method in the past but it still makes me nervous!

My March FCS order arrived in mid may! f-70 may be my new favorite sculpt and I'm so glad I picked this sweet face!

    3. It does work well. You need to control it, however. What I've used is one of those thin craft knives that is dipped in the thinner, then you use that to cut the glue loose.

    4. The fact that you said they give you precious moments vibes makes me like them even more. Now I want them more than ever! I always wanted a precious moment figure but never had one.

I hope VolksUSA has a pre-order or lottery for them because after my first attempt at entering a lottery in the Japan site was a huge mess. never again.

    5. I've done the thinner method, but it is pretty nerve-wracking if you like the faceup! FWIW, some eyeballs pop out with a gentle push in from the front. I usually try to get out as much hot glue with pliers as possible before I resort to thinner. Pull slowly and sometimes you'll get lucky and it'll all come out as one solid ring, or just leave behind one little dot. :clover:clover:clover Good luck!

    7. I always use the thinner method, but I use a q-tip to dab thinner around the glue edges first then letting it sit for a second before using the spatula to pry the glue out.

But Volks has been sold out of the enamel thinner for a while now. So I've bought Testors enamel thinner, which is similar good substitute.

    8. I was recommended water to take out the eyes and it takes a bit of patience but it works. At least that's how I got mine out. Before that I tried the freezer method but I ended up damaging my Liselotte's faceup *_*. In hindsight I am glad it happened as that was the chance to have her eyelashes repositioned. But I could have done without the shock. I am sure though I am just very clumsy and for other people the freezer method is completely fine.

Yvonne's (Charlotte) eyes were also taken out with water :).

I'm definitely getting used to her new body. At first I was a bit hesitant because it is quite a change from the SD10 body.

    9. @nintendallie, your F-70 is a cutie!

@laquaza, you’re not the only one who doesn’t like the freezer method :sweat I’ve had it cause condensation on the faceup before, and I’m not about that! I usually avoid the freezer method for that reason. Yvonne looks very fancy on her tall body!

    11. Is this official?? If so I hope they’re releasing a Harry as well! (And Draco, but that’s my personal dream).

I’ve had a personal ban on official HP merch for some time but… I might break for this.

    12. @KeiCai_Ayan it's official. Volks hasn't said anything yet but they're at an HP popup that's been reported on by Fashion-Press:
      写真27/40|「ハリー・ポッター」限定ストアが赤坂に、店内の全貌公開!寮モチーフのローブ&スイーツなど
      「ハリー・ポッター」限定ストアが赤坂に、店内の全貌公開!寮モチーフのローブ&スイーツなど

They're also listed on this HP fansite, including a price.
      マホウドコロ「赤坂Wizarding World Street店」、新商品・販売グッズなど一挙紹介! - ポッターマニア

I think the popup opens today, so hopefully SD fans will report back with more info. There's a QR code on their placard so hopefully someone scans it.

    13. Interesting. That’d be 110,000 yen each according to that site - Volks wizarding world collection Ron and Hermione.
These are just exhibit models and details will be released later.

    15. I tried the freezer method and it didn't work for me, I also freaked out when I took the head out and it was all wet *_* in the end I used what I always use to remove face ups and it worked! just be careful it doesn't go through the eye holes and ruin the eye face up/eyelashes https://www.amazon.com/Winsor-Newto...d=1655342393&sprefix=paint,aps,40&sr=8-6&th=1

Oh Charlotte :love she is stunning!!

May I know how did you do it with water?? do you have to leave it in water for a long time?

    18. Hermione and Ron are cute but.. can we get an SD17 Snape?? This collab really did surprise me though. When I first saw the image I pushed it off as 2 well made custom dolls. I imagine Malfoy and Harry will be revealed as a set next. Either that or Harry will be over the top.

    19. I was able to visit the HP popup shop yesterday. There wasn’t any further information about the release except a link to the online HP shop. Here’s hoping that they’ll be a preorder! And I’m seconding the dream of SD17 Snape!

    20. So are they SD? Ron's hands look like SD10 boy hands.
Very glad to have zero interest in HP. :XD:
