How are people ordering the Harry Potter dolls? I'm jealous!

Ayumist allows layaway that's due at the end of the order period. I personally went through Zenmarket because the conversion rate was much cheaper and it was all due at the same time anyway. Ayumist is super nice to work with, but normal proxies work fine too if you choose

 

I have paid Ayumist in Yen before as USD is not my home currency either.

Great to know! Thanks for the info on an option that allows for layaway too. That's more for later for me since I'm going to hold out hope for Draco. It does say "The first is Harry's best friends, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley." so I'm hoping they mean the first of many or at least a set including some main characters. Ron's smile is cute and Hermione is adorable too but for SD10 size I would like a slightly more mature face. I really love Harry Potter and thought they'd be an instant buy for me but luckily for my wallet, not these two.

 

I mean the 10 in SD10 is supposed to be the age, so they probably chose that for when they were 11 years old from the first book. But they do have the typical young airbrush Volks look going on, yeah. I'm really hoping they make Draco too! And Harry. I wonder if they started with these to see if they did well first. Fingers crossed the order goes through ^^

 

For the Harry Potter dolls, do you have to use a proxy to order it?

 

Yes, unless you live in Japan. The company does not ship outside of Japan. Which in this day and age is ridiculous.

 

@Kbarberdav the issue likely due to a licensing agreement, not an inability to hand over a package to DHL.

 

I saw the the full choice system will be up again in July on Volks USA, and it left me wondering once again;
How can I as a person not living in the USA get me a SDGr boy?
The international Volks page always has only the very few standard models.

Does the Kyoto shop sell all the options all the time? If so, is there anywhere online a possibility to see all the options? So that I could at least look for a proxy to go there for me

I remember last time there was the full choice event on Volks USA I could not even few the options since they blocked access from outside USA =_=

 

SDGr boys are readily available in the local japanese FCS. But you'll need a proxy to order one.

Here you can find some of the head models. It's not entirely up to date though: Neo Angel Den - Volks FCS - 60cm SD FCS - Head Molds

You can find them on IG though. Volks also posts the new heads on IG when they release them. The tags are always structured like this #sd_f_98 (FCS head 98 for example)

 

@Pyoko If you get yourself a vpn (ExpressVPN is what I use) you can at least see what's on offer...there are also proxies you can get stuff shipped to that will send it on to you too. I found something that let me buy a subscription to something not available out of the US (not doll related)...

The Yen rate is very good atm, so asking a proxy in Japan to go to the store is what I want to do.
Does someone know proxys in Kyoto?

Does the VPN cost something? Browsing the options sounds useful

I would really like to avoid ordering through the USA store though, because that would be extremely expensive. (high shipping cost and most terrible exchange rate from Euro to USD in years. Also, of course, the proxy cost on top of that)

 

There is the FCS handbook that Volks sells in their international store. But they don't show all makeup options for all heads there either. And it is noteworthy to add that one can request two changes to the makeup. So it's hard to depict all the possibilities.
If there are some heads that interest you I can offer to take some pictures of the latest handbook (that contains the sculpts up to F-100) as it also shows the blank heads. For the makeup it might be better to look at owner pictures on IG.

If you go through the japanese FCS via proxy I strongly advice to pay in JPY instead of USD. Otherwise you get hit with double conversion.

The other option could be to get a SDGr boy on the second hand market. It might be the easiest way but it requires luck and patience.
