Tbh this year's anniversary one-off Lorina on the Online store was tempting me so much. So I might be fighting a loosing battle . But her secondhand market price is above the max amount I am personally willing to spend on a doll so it won't happen anyway.

This thread always has so many amazing photos of gorgeous dolls. Always a pleasure to see everyone's dolls and how they've been styled.

 

March might be early, but Volks have announced a few months back that the perks allowed to GL members who visit Japan still has stuff TBA. They were meant to announce this back in 2020 (when GL was still a brand new thing), but after Japan closed borders they postponed the announcement indefinitely. When it reopened to tourists in October, Volks released a statement about a partial start to what GL members will be able to do which included entering for Bisques and one-offs, as well as being able to attend members only special events. There was a disclaimer that the full scope of services has yet to be announced.
They haven’t announced anything specific for how FCS will work for GL yet, so I hope it will be announced soon, and I hope it’s not the same silly ‘you can do it if you’re there for order and pickup’ that it was planned to be before the GL services were actually implemented (and then got postponed due to the pandemic). The fact that it’s not in the partial rollout (rather than the same text as before) with the disclaimer about more to come gives me some hope. I’m not sure what the holdup is with the full GL rollout but I assume if its FCS logistics, there’s a whole lot to work out.

Tl;dr Right this moment the answer is no but in the future it’s ‘maybe????’. If it ends up not possible when you go, the alternative would be going with your friend who does the order while you sit and watch so you at least kind of get the ‘in person’ experience (which is what I plan to do eventually haha;; this does require a friend that has VS membership though..) I hope we get good news soon - with Japan open I think a lot of people, including Volks fans, will go for the cherry blossom season in March/April in particular, and Dolpa is in April too after all.

@Torino Thanks! I read that info on for the website regarding updated/added kachu-an services for GL members, so was hoping maybe I missed an update email somewhere. Good to know it’s coming in the future though! At least for now I know I can visit without having to worry about a reservation.

May I ask, do you use a "Dollfie® Head Cap - L Size" or wig cap for her? I am trying to decide whether SDGr dolls need a wig cap or not, to help the wig be more fitted on the head. Thank you.

I was fortunate enough to snag Marie in the After Event thanks to a friend. I wanted to share two things for anyone else hoping to bring her home!

1. Her headband comes as a flat piece, and is quite difficult to bend into a shape that will grip to the wig. The wig is also incredibly fragile. I would recommend following Volks' wig instructions first, and then sewing the headband directly to the wig to keep it in place. Otherwise, you are at an extremely high risk of it falling forward and scratching her delicately blushed face.

2. Her dress stained my white cotton gloves a light pink. If you are displaying her with other dolls, take care that her dress doesn't brush up against anyone else. Especially Oscar or Andre's white pants!

Doll tax, my FCS Diamond came home last weekend, and I was able to take some photos yesterday!
