1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    3. Thank you so much to everyone that replied about my concerns with the clothing on Date Masamune II and gave tips for prolonging the life of the pieces. I've been thinking about it and I feel like the clothing pieces that will deteriorate are relatively minor and he's still be beautiful even after they turn to dust so I'm still very interested in picking him up. Again, thank you all who went through the trouble to give their thoughts!

    4. Peeling pleather can sometimes be partially salvaged with skillful use of Angelus leather paints.

    5. @shofukan88 Also, most of these pleather pieces would be relatively easy to recreate, just trace them onto tracing paper, and use that as a new pattern. (Be sure to add seam allowance, though!) If you don't want to work with real leather, you could use satin or fake woven suede instead (depending on weather you want it to have a shiny or matt finish).

    6. I've never tried to get a volks lottery doll before but this might be the time I try it! I just need to keep the dates in mind for when they sell online...

    7. @shofukan88 Yeah ... I'm not a big fan of pleather either. I actively try to avoid it but sometimes it's hard.

Ariel will be preorder for those living in Japan (not shipping outside Japan) as well as limited quantities at the event. I imagine this is all because of the licensing agreement.

FYI, Dolpa 49 After Event is May 6.

    8. I'm super excited to share my Rose of Versailles display! I finished tweaking my custom Fersen (thanks to Freedom Teller's beautiful tailoring), and Rosalie.

    9. Alright, I just returned from a trip to Japan, during which I visited Volks Dolls Point, Tenshi no Mado, Volks Osaka Showroom, and finally, Tenshi no Sato. Each of the locations had completely different vibes (for obvious reasons) and brought different experiences.

And I just must say, to no one's surprise I'm sure, that Tenshi no Sato is absolutely incredible. It is beyond beautiful and everything you could ever imagine. The museum is breathtaking (all those dolls I’ve never seen in person!!) and having a private garden to peacefully stroll through in a crowded area like Arashiyama was a great break from everything. The entire estate is super relaxing and peaceful; I wish I could visit with my resin dolls and spend a day just sitting and enjoying my time. Mado was also really nice and such a great building! There was a tiny snafu where we were at Mado purchasing some (a lot >_>;; ) of things, and when I went to pull up my Volks My Page for my membership number, the website was down for scheduled maintenance! In the middle of the day. The staff were flustered about it as well, but actually found a way to look up our account information via another method. They were the sweetest people!

Another interesting thing I don't recall seeing before at Volks stores in Japan, is that they sell lots of artist/vendor items as well, and not just Volks items. I bought a ton of non-Volks accessories, shoes, and some clothes at Dolls Point and Mado. The only caveat, naturally, being that those items don't count towards your member points, and they’ll ring them up separately.

I brought my DD along for the trip this time (though my ultimate goal is to bring a resin boy in the future) and took some photos of her in her Volks kimono while we were in Kyoto.

    10. I got an f-30 on yj recently because I wanted his ears for another doll.
I figured eh, I'll paint him up and sell him for cheap without his ears.
Well within a couple days of finishing him, this guy now has his own body and his own ears and I LOVE HIM.[IMG]

    11. F-30s have a way of doing that... I bought mine originally to "body-snatch" him for a different head.

And then he kind-of... yeah... became my Monkey King. That head had to get its body elsewhere.

    12. F-30s are an underrated mold, but very resilient; good to see some being appreciated!

I have two; one is a Sunlight SD13 boy ordered from Volks USA in 2006, who still has his default face-up. My other F-30 is WS and on an SD16 body. She originally came to me via eBay 5 years ago, and on an SD13 girl body, which seemed, well... inadequate! I bought her because she has an Evenstar face-up; I'm sentimental about Evenstar face-ups --

    13. So nice to see some old F30 love! My F-30 also came to me pretty randomly... user @nikittin allowed me to adopt her F30, and I impulsively took her up on that offer. @zingor your F30 has beautiful makeup that really makes the mold come to life! I can see how he seduced his way back into your home ;) Hope you will show off more of him! @Brightfires and @beamlette -- stunning boy and girl! I love how incredibly versatile the sculpt can be. <3

My boy Vero with the extra long elf ears~

    16. Interesting seeing the f-30 pop up in conversation, I've been on the lookout for an f-29 girl for so long now. I love both of their elvish features :D

    19. When do the winners get announced for the One offs from VolksUSA? I didn't enter but I hope all the winners end up here. :)

Thanks for the photos @Insane-Chan ! Yes, all the Volks locations are very different. I hope you had a dessert in the cafe? :chibi
