1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Volks Super Dollfie - SD, SD13, SD16, SD17, SDGr, SDGou & FCS - XXXIII

Sep 12, 2022

    1. They don’t usually announce the winners, but you can usually take a guess from what ends up rereleased in the following year or so. For example last time they did the DD poll it resulted in Miku Reboot and Arle 2nd.

The SD polls this time are a bit weird because they’re only including doll releases from the past 5 years for some reason - the yoSD/SDM poll and SD/SDgr/SD17 boys polls were like that so I don’t imagine the girls version will be any different.

    2. First world doll problems:

There's this super cute Nono on Dollyteria I have my eye on. She looks to either be Oldskin or early Pureskin, based on the face-up and yellowing.

I'm trying to be good and not buy her... yet. I'll tell myself that if she's still there in a month, it was meant to be. :sorry

    3. @SaltedPretzel I know that feeling! I’ve had my eye on a specific Lady Oscar on Mandarake and I’m just holding out hope that no one buys her before I’m able to. Which could be… a while. :sorry

ETA: I have no patience nor self-control so I bought her today :XD: I'm selling my Sailor Moon Dollfie Dream collection so I do have the money, it was just so hard to hit that complete order button. BUT SHE WILL BE MINE! Wow. Unobtainable grail obtained :dance

    4. Volks newbie here, does anyone know if they restock their clothing on the USA site once they're out of stock? I really want a few pieces but I don't like buying second hand! Thank you! ♡

    5. Some clothes items do get restocked and they put out an announcement when they restock stuff.
You might be able to find what you want on the JP site, they will ship to the US, but of course the shipping will be more expensive.

    6. With the current US dollar / yen conversion rate, it's still cheaper to buy from the international site even with their more expensive shipping. I just bought an outfit and a stand and saved myself about $20.

    7. Good to know, I tried to buy the stand a few months back, but it cost more from JP than the US store, since the shipping doubled the cost of my order :sweat Maybe because it was the big saddle stand? I will check it again, I really wanted it.
Surely the outfits are much lighter and smaller packaging though! :3nodding:

Edit: Crazily enough, the cost is exactly equal right now for the stand from JP or US site when shipping is added
Sounds that you got a great deal on the clothes :D:D I know where I'm buying volks outfits next time!

    8. Where do you see announcements from? Is there a newsletter or an account you can get info for? I'm in Canada so I only know the US site ships.

    9. I think that you can opt in to the newsletter when you make a store account! but you can also use this page: Dollfie News Sign Up!
(I realize the link looks a little sketch so if you prefer you can find the same link on this page: VOLKS USA, INC. :XD:)

My girl, Corbie, came back just in time for the new year with a new face-up! I am loving her new look :chibi

    11. @XiaoCream : Your beautiful girl is breathtaking! I adore her faceup <3 It works so beautifully with the crimson wig and amber eyes so perfectly. Additionally, wow - I've been totally sleeping on the Mel/F83 mold!

    12. Does Volks usually sell SD bodies on their JP/USA websites? For some reason I thought they did, but there's none listed. Is the best way to get my hands on a SD body to buy one second hand?

    13. I don't believe Volks sell separate SD bodies, only full dolls, so the secondhand market is your best bet.

    14. Volks doesn’t sell resin bodies separately- you can buy a standard and sell the head once it arrives (if you want an SD10), go through the secondhand market, or join a split if any are open for a limited doll.

    15. Thank you so much to the both of you! Maybe I'll wait until I have market access and see what's going on there or surf around on some second hand sale sites. I feel like if I bought a current doll on their site, I wouldn't have the heart to remove her head, ha! Are bodies fairly easy to hunt down?

Additionally, does anyone have photos of their girls with 18mm vs 20mm eyes?

      • x 1
    16. The bodies are pretty easy to find secondhand and affordably :3nodding:
I see a lot of them sold in Volks groups and especially Japanese secondhand markets, as always you just need to due your due diligence to make sure that it's legit.

    17. Thank-you, that's a relief to hear! do you know any resources for researching authenticity that I could dig into?

    18. Reputable secondhand sellers like Dollyteria and Mandarake are usually a safe bet. If you'd like, I can get some pictures of the markings inside my SD10 girl's limbs

    19. I've heard of Mandarake, but Dollyteria is new to me. And yes please, I'd really appreciate that! Thank-you!
