The new Volks FCS sculpts are flying out the molds. I can't they're in the hundreds already! Everyone's dolls look so nice! I have my eye on F80 but its such a hard sculpt to find second hand. I might have to order direct as I've been desperately searching with no luck. I just got a body for my F98 boy and I wanted to get his friend soon.

 

@Cydril, congratulations on your new boy! He has such a dignified look about him.

@eleniel, your F-03 girl is lovely! The dark makeup does give her a bit of a spooky vibe. I love it!

I'm just driving by to complain about Volks' business practices lately. For Hometown Kyoto Dolpa 20, they did a guidebook (ticket) presale for VS members. It arrived to most people on July 13th or 14th... just exactly when the non-member sale opened. It seems like the system is designed for Volks to exploit people's desire to have a good ticket number. Everyone who got a bad ticket number in the first sale round is just going to buy more ¥2,420 guidebooks. There are A ticket guidebooks on Y!J for ¥100,000 and more. It doesn't cost Volks much more to print additional guidebooks, but they get to reap the benefits of many people buying multiple tickets... tickets that don't actually represent a person attending Dolpa. It makes it really obvious that Dolpa in Japan is now pay-to-win, because people who can afford to spend a doll's worth of money on a ticket are able to buy a good entry ticket, and then use that to buy the limited dolls that they want.

I really hope that this system will not continue in Japan, and that Volks will return to the reordering-the-line-on-the-day system that they used to use before COVID (and I suppose they could still sell the old-style X-Pass tickets, which allowed people to be first in line for the dealers' room; that system didn't apply to the Sumika/limited dolls line).

Alright I'm getting so excited, I got a Nico secondhand and she's going to be my very first Volks! She's supposed to be here in a couple days per the tracking. I'm so excited because I'm also going to the Dolpa in Los Angeles, so I get to bring her, yay!

 

She's arrived! I switched out her eyes from her defaults and found a wig that fits for her for the moment. Already plotting her final form -- the resin is really nice and heavy! I'm excited to work with it

I just got in my new SDGr 75 boy thanks to a wonderful seller on the marketplace! He is absolutely stunning and i'm just in awe of how amazing he is! F-75 has been at the top of my SD FCS wishlist since I first learned of him and i'm so glad I was able to find such an exact representation of what I would have ordered directly from FCS.

I completely agree. I held out on some purchases to save money to buy a doll at the LA dolpa but when the list of dolls came out I was so disappointed. Most of the best selection dolls are available at every second hand website at a low cost. To me it just seems like volks put this event together to just get rid of stock. I would’ve loved to see the new dear SD’s with the red outfits from the kyoto dolpa from a few days ago. Im grateful that an LA dolpa is happening but I was just expecting more

 

It really does feel like they're just trying to get rid of stock. :/ Hopefully they see the attendance and do better next year.

 

I wanted to share my newest girl, Evangeline Hope. She's a Saki one off painted by Luluco, and she is everything and more.

I got her after a heartbreaking end to a long term relationship as a means for healing and reinvesting in myself. Her name is what I had wanted to name our future daughter, so she will carry that love forward. I am excited to see what kind of personality she will have, and how that plays with her style and aesthetics. Saki is a gorgeous sculpt that I didn't think I'd be able to obtain, but now she's here!

I'm editing to add a photo that I think is her final look, minus any eye changes (still the same colour grouping). Evie looks good in everything but especially in soft colours. I am so in love with this girl

 

I wasn't patient enough to wait for lottery, as I have wanted Genji since 2009. I was able to get him through a proxy from Kyoto Dolpa. He will be put in his default outfit, but first I wanted to play with him! Here are some photos:
