1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I got a Genji head off Mandarake after I TOLD MYSELF I was ok not getting him... :doh I definitely could swing the head... not the entire fullset. So I guess FOMO is still alive and well with me o.o;

But I do agree with many of what's been stated above. I notice the dolls that are being "scalped" right after the event on Y!J are nearly at cost or even less with the conversion rate online. I think the occurrence of inflation in many countries has made it hard for people make such big purchases as frequently - and as Insane-Chan stated, more thoughtful about what to buy instead of trying to secure a doll from each release.

My Murasaki arrived early! Her clothes are massive and I'm glad Volks had instructions on how to put them on. Her face is lovely and has different expressions depending on what angle you view it from – a very Noh-like quality :love

    3. She's so pretty!!!! Hold me back from buying her online please (or enable me) before I finish waiting for a potential restock

    4. She's so pretty! I was more taken with Fujitsubo originally, but she's so lovely here
But no, I won't be trying to get one of the girls after all, I've spent most of the money I had put aside on much needed new clothes/shoes/wigs for my dolls.

    5. Do you guys recall how much Murasaki and Fujitsubo were through VolksUSA? I've seen some for sale, but I can't tell if they're mildly overcharging (I'm okay with this) or extremely overcharging (end scalping lol).

    6. I've seen both on Y!J for about a ¥30000 yen markup, which is fairly low compared to Sapphire (double her retail price or higher) or Elizabeth (¥50000)

    7. Wow! She is more stunning in her owner photos than in her official photos!

    8. Murasaki was $950.00 Fujitsubo was $1,200.00 from Volks USA.

    9. Thank you! I thought they stopped doing the 1:1 yen usd conversion rate but maybe that was just one time. yeowch. but that means I can secure these girls no matter what without feeling bad about feeding scalpers. :D

    11. @Littlebirdzoom : And two new heads! <3 Really glad to see FCS online come back... deciding if maybe this is the year to bring back my Pearl in tan color~

Also big congrats to all the winners at the Volks Dolpa this past weekend. I saw so many friends win dolls! So happy for you all :D

    12. It looks like scans of Volks News 105 are starting to float about the internet.

Also, if anyone was interested in Genji, he's available on Volks Japan.

    13. Genji in stock probably means there are no more Murasakis to be restocked huh :...( I'll go find one to buy secondhand then lol. I might wait until I get my Fujitsubo, because she may sate my desire for a tale of Genji doll haha.

    14. Never in my life did I think Genji would just be sitting in stock online  amazing!!

    15. ^NO KIDDING! I remember a time where Genji's were being sold for $2k+... and him just sitting on that site, brand new fullset for a little over $1k is mind boggling. I'm super happy people are able to get some long standing grails~ I just hope Volks isn't taking huge financial hits right now if all of their dolls aren't selling out. :(

    16. I think Murasaki and Fujitsubo were more popular; usually the pretty little girls are. So sadly I think it's doubtful either of them will become available on the webstore.

And SDB Michelle from the last re-release is available; poor boy finally hit saturation.

    17. I found a Murasaki for a good price, so I'm happy to say I snagged her! should work out to be about the same price as if I bought her from VolksUSA.

Watch her be restocked on the jp site tomorrow lmfao :|

I'll post pics of my girls when I get them for sure! I wanna buy a folding screen to display them with :chibi.

    18. I am wondering...I do feel like the pandemic probably hit them in many ways, combined with people being more conscious of their purchases these days. It is perhaps telling though that the auction model for this weekend's LA Dolpa, which historically has always been a charity auction, seemed to just be...an auction, with the money going to Volks? They never made any mention of proceeds going to charity for it, which was unusual.

    19. @Insane-Chan : Totally agree, I'm sure Volks is facing their share of challenges. I was curious about the auction as well... I assumed it was a charity auction, but when I look online it doesn't state it like it has in past years. If it wasn't a charity, I'm glad Volks was able to receive a high bid for her. I know that putting on a Dolpa internationally is a huge undertaking and investment. I'm glad it paid off for them! :)

    20. My Genji arrived and he is stunning! He arrived with his hands separately which had me so confused for about five minutes as I thought he was strung way too tight for me to get them on. Have SD17 dolls always had the hands attached by a string to the s hook or have I just totally forgotten?
