1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Volks Super Dollfie - SD, SD13, SD16, SD17, SDGr, SDGou & FCS - XXXIV

Jan 12, 2024

    1. Yes indeed @whisperingtree all SD17 they have the little string for attaching hands~

    2. Hello everyone.))) Folks, please, if possible, someone can explain about Volks existing skin color for now, fcs and in general. After renaming them. I feel confused a little. I know only normal it fair skin for now. Previous sunlight is Tan skin.
      Still question about Ebony, Shadow and Bronze skin colors.. if someone explained I will be very thankful ))

    3. @Kykycik, Shadowskin is now called Bronze, and Ebony is called Amber.

    4. Thanks a lot)) I thought it is only 4 skin tone existed. But seem it is 5 of them..))

    5. Bronze/Shadowskin, to my knowledge, has only been offered with limited releases. To make things more confusing, there's now also Pinkish Fair and Alabaster White, which are only offered with the Disney dolls so far. Here's a photo I use as reference often that shows the difference between bronze and Ebony/Amber:

      藍乃助 太郎 on Instagram: "何となく並べてみた各色ハンドパーツ 画面上がPSビスク 左から ホワイト/アラバスター/ピンキッキュ/フェア/タン/ブロンズ/アンバー みんな良い色☺️ #volks #volksdoll #ボークス #ボークスドール #superdollfie #スーパードルフィー"

      For FCS, I believe they only offer PS White, Fair, Tan, and (in the US) Amber.

      I hope that helps!

    7. Just wanted to add that the Amber skin is only available for online FCS SD16 at the moment but it’s a gorgeous color

      From an email with Volks previously about what tone names were updated:
      old name -> new name
      PS Normal -> PS Fair
      PS Sunlight -> PS Tan
      PS Ebony -> PS Amber
      PS Shadow -> PS Bronze

    8. I put a pink wig on my fujitsubo while I wait for her stand to come in and I really love how it looks. I wanna use her actual wig, but I'm tempted to keep the pink.
      . [IMG]
      Also, her clothes are so long and grand. The inner lining of both outer layers is super silky. I wonder if it is silk or just some very good polyester :XD:

    9. She is stunning!!! Her features are so delicate and beautiful. The robe for Genji is also very silky, the skin on my fingers was a bit rough so I was really worried about snagging it while dressing him.

    10. @Kayble She's lovely in the pink wig. I would be tempted to keep it on her.

    11. Hi everyone! Does anyone happen to have comparisons between Supia white or cream white and Volks white, or Supia light rose white and Volks alabaster (the Elsa/Cinderella color), or Supia peach and Volks fair or pinkish fair (the Anna/Ariel/Rapunzel color)? I have all of the Volks colors and none of the Supia ones, so any comparison is really helpful to me! I’m hoping to see recent versions of these resins, if possible? Thank you very much!

    12. A much delayed photo of my Genji from when I opened him. His hat and shoes make him so tall I haven't managed to get a photo of his full set as he is very awkwardly sitting in the doll cabinet at the moment.

    13. Hey there everyone! I'm very new to Super Dollfie, but I've been really interested in them lately. I wanted to know what everyone's favorite sculpts are? For looks or versatility, how it looks with its official faceup(s) or otherwise! I really wanna learn about SD sculpts but don't know where to start!

    14. @Captainnessbot

      I reccomend getting this book (if you're in the USA) to understand their Full Choice System to preview many of the scuplts.
      However, this book does not formally showcase limiteds and it's not up to date as of 2024 as they have released new FCS sculpts.
      Intro to Super Dollfie Full Choice Hand Book 2021

      And you could get their latest magazine (VOLKS NEWS Vol.105(GLOBAL会員様0円販売)) to see what the Japan-side of Volks is up to. Just keep in mind, certain things the Japan market gets are sometimes not privy to the global market. Make sure you check and ask around before getting excited about one thing. But typically Japan gets releases first before the USA website gets it.

      I also recommend using Instagram to browse Volk's profile and any sculpt tags for example "#sd_f_75"

      I also recommend browsing DoA's wiki on Volks as they have some general information for you. https://denofangels.com/doawiki/index.php?title=Volks

      They're on the more expensive side of the BJD world in my opinion, so I would be mindful about what you really want to go for as some of the sculpts are limited (more expensive) and are much harder to get. Just take your time. Hope this helps.

    15. The doll stand I ordered literally could not support the weight of Fujitsubo's clothing guys. :...( Before I invest $60 in a Volks stand, do you think the waist or saddle style will be more stable? Or do you know of any other companies that sell sturdy SD size doll stands?

      As Fujitsubo is stuck in the pink wig indefinitely, I decided to have Murasaki join her. Her kosode's a little pink anyways, so she looks very cute!

    16. @Kayble

      Yeah! for pink wigs. They both look fab in them.

      Anyways on the topic of stands, Kaiser makes very nice stands that cost a lot less than Volks.

      https://www.amazon.com/s?k=kaiser+d...ix=kaiser,aps,173&ref=nb_sb_ss_ab-ac-rank_6_6

      You can also get them from Dollspart if you object to using Amazon. The 14 to 20" fashion or 16" to 24" fashion doll stand should work for most 1/3 scale BJD.

      They are waist stands. It honestly depends on the doll and what they are wearing as to whether waist or crotch stands work best. Some dolls tend to tip sideways in crotch stands or have too much booty for that type of stand to hold them securely. Also some outfits work better with the stand under, like some dresses. Other times the waist stands push upwards on the dress bodice too much. Pants can't go under the stand for obvious reasons. If the doll is heavy get the stand with the biggest base on it.

    17. @Lyrajean Thank you! Actually, the kaiser stands were the ones I got :...(. Fujitsubo's clothes may just be too ridiculously huge/long for anything but solid metal to support. I have her sitting on my dresser and her clothes hang off the edge by a lot. I guess a $60 stand isn't crazy for a $1000 doll lol, so I'll invest in a Volks one. I hope The Volks stand is as as heavy as I'm imagining it will be.

      Thanks for the info! I'll definitely go for a waist stand. Now, here's hoping it is sturdy enough for her outfit lol. At least, it won't show under her outer garments.

      And I'll definitely keep them in the pink wigs! :D I don't like Murasaki's base wig that much, but I still wanna try Fujitsubo's Rapunzel tresses. I should take a photo of them together lol. They have a great resemblance! (Accurate to the book :thumbup)

      Edit: I'll put Murasaki's outer garments on her to see if the stand can handle that. It fits her a lot better already since she is a little shorter

    18. @Kayble Have you tried slipping a piece of wooden dowel or something like that into the space where the waist piece fits in? If you are using those kaiser stands for 1/3 Volks dolls the waist piece isn't in the lowest position. Try slipping something under the pole part if the stand is indeed collapsing under the weight of the costume. And I would test this on a carpet or rug in case somone topples over.

    19. I'll try that! Thanks for the tip :D

    20. @Kayble, with my Kaiser stands, sometimes I put a glob of eye putty on the track to stop the long part of the waist piece from sliding out of position.

      And I love your choice of pink wigs for your Fujitsubo and Murasaki. Very sakura!
