Volks Super Dollfie - SD, SD13, SD16, SD17, SDGr, SDGou & FCS - XXXIV

Chiming in here - I’ve got multiple Volks stands for my dolls, and they work really well for SD13 and under! Super sturdy and easy to use. I wish they still made the ones with the wooden bases, but the new metal ones are still great

 

Still in stock! I stumbled onto this last night on the Volks International website, had him in my cart and then I stopped myself because I already have him! I think I was just so shocked to actually see a Genji listed and available on the website and chiming in with others, that it's incredible to think he is easily available! If only our 2008 selves could witness this now - Genji in stock at Volks!

 

@pris84 : I scooped up a Genji head on Mandrake for a decent enough price and I remember thinking that 10+ years ago I wouldn't event let myself dream of owning one because of his price and scarcity. Definitely wild that Michele, WS Williams and Genji were at one point just sitting on their online stores~

@snowgray : I love your F-97 Her custom makeup gives her very sassy vibes! She looks like she's got some Shinku/Ran inspiration. I'm so unknowledgeable on the current FCS...but they've come out with some super cute heads.

@Kayble : Love the pink wig on her~ She looks so serene! Best of luck finding a stand for her... I buy all my stands from Hobby Lobby or similar craft stores -- they're not the best quality though and it seems you need something very sturdy to stabilize her in a very hefty outfit.

Dolly tax -- an ol' boy Yukinojo that I adopted from my friend @nikittin He's the original SD16 version... which although that body was phased out rather quickly I rather like it. ^-^

 

@pris84 I did the exact same thing with SDGr Williams. There were a few times I had to stop myself from adding him to cart while he was still available since I already owned one and I really needed to be using that money for other things.

This may be obvious but I'm still a bit confused, are Fujitsubo and Murasaki new head molds?

Love both the SOUSOU collab outfits Volks teased. I think i'll get the boy one. Anyone else have thoughts?

 

I love them, but I just had to throw away a bunch of old pleather doll clothing, so I'm trying to limit my Expensive Garbage purchases to things that won't rot immediately in my humid seaside environment.

 

@Sillypeach my thoughts were "now that is a CUTE F-101!!" which is basically my thought every time I see an F-101. I might need to start making some more monpe-esque pants because this westernized wa style is one of my favorite mixes.

 

I really want the shoes! The price is pretty rough, though.

 

I have Murasaki set up and the kaiser stand supports her outfit at least! She looks so gorgeous. It took a few minutes of precise fiddling to get everything to sit right. Photo tax! I wish the quality didn't degrade so severely on the forums. and that there was a direct upload feature.

Oh, also! I can't decide which extra hands to buy. I love her fullset so much I'm not sure if I'll give her a modern outfit, but the peace sign hands are so freaking cute.

 

I've been eyeing the girl one but my mood lately is emptying and moving along doll stuff vs buying or bringing doll stuff in. That said, it is nice to see that Volks is collaborating with other brands as it give the dolls some new style choices.

@St. James I freaking hate pleather! Ugh. I had stuff for years that was fine and then all of a sudden this year and in the last 2 months, 2 pants and a pair of shoes were just reduced to flakes. WTF! Yeah ... feeling very anti-pleather these days!

I hope this is allowed, but I wanted to guage secondhand prices of Volks outfits. I'm in love with the kimono sets of Murasaki's and Fujitsubo's, and I've seen the latter's on Y!J going for 50k Yen. Is that a reasonable price point for the outfit + wig? It feels a bit high but still not sure myself as I've never been on the lookout for outfits only before (...except for Beatrice's but that's a very very distant seemingly unachievable dream at this point )

 

I see older limited full sets for around the 30k mark on Mandarake/Dollyteria and just a wig can be 6-10k. The sets for collabs with Fullhouse or BTSB can go around 50k. Given this is a new release and Volks it could go down over time but it’s not a surprising price.

 

I saw someone selling Fujitsubo's outfit on insta! For $200 I think. On YJ, I saw them going for 30k yen.

 

Hello! I’m very new to Volks specifically, I don’t own any, but I’ve recently fallen in love with a specific sculpt and I’m wondering how best to search and keep an eye out for just the head, or even just the head and body. I am not interested in the fullset. I’ve had no luck finding the set split up on any US sites, and I’m not sure how to search Japanese ones for the head alone since I don’t speak the language. How do you all usually find your dream Volks? Is it easier or harder to find legit, since the company is so big on the scene? Also, is there any way, maybe an app or website, that I can get alerted if it becomes available somewhere? Many thanks in advance! I’ve never done this before, my dolls have mostly been straight from the company or artist

 

A shopping service would be a huge help! The one I’m hoping for is Yumepi, she’s only a couple years old which is probably why no one’s split her fullset. I’ll give all those sites a look, thanks!

 

@Xweetara You could try to post a WTB/ISO here on DoA or other social media sites or groups? I find sometimes people are on the fence about selling or just haven’t had the time to make a sales thread and feel more inclined to answer a wtb. They worked well for me in the past.
