Volks Super Dollfie - SD, SD13, SD16, SD17, SDGr, SDGou & FCS - XXXIV

Thanks for that! I've been buying a bunch of clothes from Volks lately so I figured if there was anything that struck my fancy I could finally get another outfit for my SID girl.

 

Gaaahh!! Screaming!!! With 1 hour left to order I pulled the trigger on an FCS SD16 Diamond!!!!! Got the amber skin and make-up, no outfit though. I'll deal with that later..... But her face is SO interesting!! She only gets offered once a year or so, so I figured I better do it.

I ended up "only" getting one doll in amber. I was most of the way through adding another doll (Topaz in amber) to my cart when the time expired. So tempted, especially since it's been so long since they did SD16, but have to remember that December dolpa will be soon and who knows what awaits us . Besides, I'm hoping the FCS will start to be more regular now that they've got the FCS revamp all.. revamped! I will get another sd16 next round...

 

I waffled until the last minute, too, over which faceup style I wanted for my amber Emerald. In the end, I went with the sweeter Romantic. (My sun goddess' lunar partner is a rather somber-looking Genji, so letting her have a gentler feel plays right into their whole 'opposites attract'-thing. )

 

Hooray for more Diamonds!!! The sculpt is so unique and interesting and it's an old fashioned, classical face that you just don't see outside of art history. But I'm looking forward to a mature melancholy lady.

Oh no... how hard are clothes to find for these girls?? I didn't take that into consideration!

 

It will depend what your style is. If you like classic dresses, there are some vendors that you can buy SD16. If you prefer modern clothing...checking the korean vendors is an option.

 

It's also a size of girl that Volks themselves has supported very well over the years! The clothes do sell out with some regularity, but are often reproduced and put back up for sale.

Volks USA is often more convenient and has cheaper shipping, while Volks International generally has more items, gets the newer stuff first, and can potentially be much cheaper depending on the currency exchange rates.

 

@Chehime If you like Japanese fashion, then Volks makes quite a bit of things still which is nice. As someone who doesn't like Volks style (or Japanese fashion mostly) very much, clothing options are a bit limited. Especially since the size isn't popular. You can get creative and check measurements for some other dolls like Smart Doll sometimes fits, or what I do is look for Korean clothing makers since they have more my personal modern style. The only way to dress these girls is to become a measurement pro But there are options, just not the easiest ones

 

As I said just upthread, my SD16 girls have shared outfits with their SeniorDelf, Feeple65, Iple SID, Soom Super Gem and Spirit Doll Proud cousins. They also occasionally swipe things from my Dollshe Hound and the other guys in the crew.

Those little heart hands are on the newer side. I think they were released as promotional hands through Volks news? My wallet is dead but I’m sure I won’t be able to grab these 2 ladies. The fight will be fierce!

Oof, I lost my taste for lolita/pink bjds some time ago, but the overall styling is really, really cute. I love the wigs and especially their faceups. For the uninitiated, which is which? I wouldn't mind taking home either to redress

 

I think Maacha is the one in a red dress and Yumepi is wearing pink.
