1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I always manage to chip the eyeliner trying to get the eyes out, even with the freezer trick. I might need to change my newest one's eyes for a character cosplay I want to make, but I'm hoping I can avoid it.

    2. I always take the glued eyes out! It's admittedly stressful taking the eyes out of a oneoff, but I haven't had a mishap yet! *knocks on wood*

    3. This is my major worry :sweat my one off is a second hand one and her faceup is 90% in amazing condition. I typically do the freezer trick for all my Volks dolls but I'm so scared of also chipping the eyeliner or worse.

:3nodding:I hope the luck continues for your future Volks dolls! I'm too anxious to give it a try myself but I wanted to learn what other hobbyists do in this situation. Thank you for the reply!

    4. I like the blue coord and the shoe and bag set, but not sure whether I'll purchase them or keep looking for older releases. It's a shame there's nothing for MSD.

    5. Does anyone know of a good way to attach earrings to Volks "The Little Mermaid" Ariel's ears? The plastic clip on style doesn't work with her, and I don't want to drill holes in her ears.

I made her some earrings using seashells and sand dollars using the plastic clip type of earring finding, but her ears are different. For that matter Elsa and Anna seem to have the same type of ear as Ariel. The clips work just fine on my Belldandy & my Sapphire, but the Disney dolls have slimmer ear lobes.

    6. I'd think just water soluble white glue would work, or a tiny piece of eye tack?

      • x 2
    7. That might work, but I'd have to see if I could find an earring or jewelry finding that could be attached to her ear and still hold the shell dangles. I might have to make something custom for that.

    8. Have you considered bending thin jewelry wire and seeing if you can hook that around her ear? It will probably take some finagling to try to get the earring to show up on the lobe in the place that you want it, but at least you could put the weight at a more load-bearing part of the ear.

    9. That might be a good idea, but you should choose somthing non-reactive for wire. I would stay away from anything containing copper/brass or silver that tarnishes. Gold would be the best choice. Don't want to leave stains on the resin or in the faceup/sealant layer if the earrings are going to be on for a while.

    12. Seems like the Volks USA Lottery results are out. Did anyone win?

How often does Volks USA have One Off lotteries?

    13. @SeriousBunny there's always Holiday Greetings once a year. Sometimes there's an extra small event for one offs in addition, but it can be very small, like 3 dolls. There's always dolpa one offs, on years that occurs.

    14. Where did you hear that from? I’m anxiously awaiting to see if I won!

    15. I'm on the Volks Super Dollfie Discord and someone posted they received an winning email for the Volks USA Lottery last night.

I entered in for the Suiseiseki since she is my Grail but I didn't receive an email yet. :pout: Hopefully next time I'm more lucky.

    16. Initial emails went out last weekend.

    17. Oh I thought 11/15 was for the International Lottery. I could be wrong though.

    18. That's correct. I said that yesterday which would make 11/14-11/16 last weekend.

    19. @Ephemeral_Dream I think because you typed "initial" instead of "international" we were a bit confused by your first response. I see the emails for international lottery went out on the 14-16th so the USA lottery probably went out the 22nd-23rd.

Guess that means I didn't win either lol. :sweat
