Volks Super Dollfie - SD, SD13, SD16, SD17, SDGr, SDGou & FCS - XXXIV

I wouldn't stress about it too much. It's confusing why the information is up if they don't want people to chatter about it. I think lots of people have the Volks app or memberships, so in this case, I'm sure it's ok.

 

Right like a sculpt similar to marie Antoinette would have been perfect for sailor moon…. And a gorgeous tan SD16 sailor pluto will continue to live only in my mind… a sweet dream princess serenity…. Gosh i could go on and on about these fantasies

 

If they make a boy Ranma I will lose it! Oh my gosh! Retro is such an easy buy for me. I didn't like the Sailor Moon DD and prefer resin, so this is so exciting.

 

I hope one day volks will release sailor moon as super dollfie.

I'm kind of surprised that they chose SDGr for these dolls instead of DD. I would have thought the DD style of faces would compliment the art style better, but I bet the dolls will look great.

I can't tell who I like best from among the new standards. I hope Volks puts them up for display so I can see people's photos of them in real life

 

I really like the new standards, even though the only standard I own is a boy (I have a Kanata!). Maki and Honoka remind me a lot of Macha and Yumepi, which is especially nice, maybe some folks who didn't get lucky can get a standard who can fit a similar vibe. I thought about putting in for a lotto myself but thought I should leave them to the huge fans, so even I'm like "oh, it's nice to have a possible future option!" hahah. The default faceups and wigs are really nice, too.

I'm very interested to see pictures of the Ranma 1/2 dolls! Even though I agree it seems weird to do Ranma... and Shampoo? I do recall Shampoo being intensely popular years ago, so maybe it's that. (As an adult, I appreciate Akane a lot more than I did.) A Ryoga would be very fun; hopefully the line is very successful, and they do some of the other characters.

 

Ooh Ranma collab is exciting! I'm curious to see how they look as dolls, even if I didn't really watch/read the series aside from seeing it during childhood occasionally. Though I wish Akane was included haha

 

Definitely tempted to get Maki or Honoka, and the new body is exciting!

 

I love the original Ranma 1/2 anime series, but in a million years I would never have expected Volks to pick that anime for Limiteds -- way to go to surprise me, Volks!

Now that the new Standard girls are getting double joint knees, hopefully it won't be long until they come to FCS

 

Yeah, the new anime probably has something to do with it.

 

The new anime for Ranma 1/2 is honestly and truly phenomenal. I'm a huge Rumiko Takahashi fan (Maison Ikkoku is my all time favorite manga, InuYasha my favorite anime). I feel like with this new animation, they have finally nailed her comedic timing. It never was quite right before, in my opinion. The style is also adorable and I love the transition in color for the fight scenes.

This release was also absolutely not on my bingo card! I am eager to see them but share the same curiosity of why they were not Dollfie Dream. I always assumed Lum would be the first Rumic World character to get a Volks adaptation, so I am truly shocked!

Hoping for a male Ranma and Akane someday to round out the set. Feels strange not to have Akane. Would love to see Ryoga too, but let's be real, he got lost somewhere along the way

 

Loving the new legs! Does anyone know if/when they will sell just the double jointed legs in the future?

 

I’m definitely surprised/intrigued that these will be SDGr instead of DD. I’m very curious how they will look in resin, especially considering the general Ranma aesthetic and stylization. What’s interesting is that they don’t say which Ranma is being released. I sort of imagine them releasing Ranma(F) with Shampoo first, and then releasing Ranma[M] with Akane. But I guess we’ll see!

 

I’m confident that they are releasing Ranko (Ranma’s female form), on the basis that if it were Ranma’s male version, the announcement would say “SDGrB”, instead of just “SDGr”

 

You know what would be interesting? If they released "Ranma," but it included a set of gender interchangeable torso and midsection and two wigs, and they made the faceup androgynous enough to look realistic for either gender. Kind of like Oscar. It would cost more and restringing would be a nightmare, but would be so on point.
