    1. They are so adorable! Thanks for taking the time to record it. I love the detail on the faceups!

    2. I usually just lurk this thread to see all your lovely photos, but...
As someone who first collected Ranma 1/2 tankoubon back in the early 90s, seeing Volks do their versions of the characters all these years later is amazing. And of course, they're adorable! Not going to try for them myself, but best of luck to anyone who does!

    3. Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh!!!! I got a white envelope today!! :o

I applied to my very first One-Off lottery ever earlier this month and I didn't actually think I would win her!! I wanted this girl so much, too!! Ahhh!! I'm so happy!!! Tears!! :...(

I was so psychologically prepared not to win her that I was already saving up and moving on to Dolpa content to try my luck at the auction/lottery. Now what am I gonna do there? :sweat

    4. @Grimoire Congrats! She's lovely. I won one ages ago when I lived in Japan. Much fun. Do they still give the year's VIP membership when u win one?

    5. No idea, I sent back the envelope and I'll have to go pick her up next week. I'm super excited though!!

I always wanted to do FCS as a doll hobby bucket list thing, but this is so much cooler. Since I was getting back into the hobby and made doll friends here who visit Volks facilities, I've really been wanting a Volks and was hunting around for a while, looking at Bisque, FCS, Andre and Lady Oscar on the secondhand market, admission to Dolpa, etc. It felt like it took ages to get the "right" one and this girl really spoke to me so I'm glad I was patient. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world right now.

She does have a non-jointed SD body with the double-jointed legs though. Not sure how I feel about that since I was hunting for SDGR. I'm also hesitant to change out her body since it's written on her certificate and all as a "set," and I've had problems with other dolls where I restrung them too loosely and their jointed torsos fly everywhere.

How much does the non-jointed torso impact posing? I looked around the forums but didn't find much aside from they don't sit up as "naturally"...

    6. @Grimoire Congrats! Having omukae ceremony with your 1st one-off should be very cool experience. :D

Your girl look lovely in her violet dress.

    7. @Grimoire, congratulations! I put in for that Saki too, since her faceup is so lovely and delicate. I hope you take lots of photos!

    8. Congratulations! She is absolutely lovely and thank you for sharing a sneak peek of the process, I never knew there were sealed envelopes! So happy for you!

    9. First of all congrats on your absolutely stunning girl :love. She looks amazing and that wig suits her so well.

Regarding non-jointed torsos it strongly depends on how important the torso joint is to you.
For me personally it is about the most important joint because I care a lot about my dolls' posture when posing them. I think it plays a big role in how 'natural' I consider a dolls' pose. Especially when sitting.
But non-jointed torsos look very beautiful and they are popular because of that. I think most Volks fans prefer them which is why they are the current Volks standard.

It's really a matter of preference. My suggestion would be to play around with her and you'll figure out quickly if it's a dealbreaker to you or not. I only found out how important it is to me after handling one. So I got a different body instead.

      (Edited some typos.)

    10. I actually read about the process on a Japanese blog about someone's experience, which is why I had a heart attack when I got a "White Letter Day." The blog worded it so beautifully. When you put your ballot in the box, you are sending out a "love/friendship letter" to the dolls you like asking them to pick you, and when you get the white envelope, that is the doll responding to your love/friendship letter.

Her faceup was what got me more than the dress. She's like an anti-Saki--I don't know how they made her look so cocky, must be the eyebrows. I didn't even realize it was that mold at first. She's not a 'rare' mold, sure, but her set just all clicks together, especially with that wig.

This is going to give me more incentive to learn how to use a camera. I'll definitely be taking her to the seasonal studio sets at Mado!

I'm a big fan of the "slightly anemic, lips-darkened-in-center" look which is why I was checking out Bisque, Andre, etc. I was checking out peoples' Saki's on Instagram and it's such a versatile mold--you can basically do any style with her and it comes out great.

Yeah, I think the only thing I can do for now is see how I feel about the posing. I don't anticipate her doing any midriff or saucy shoots that would look nicer with an intact torso, but it might be nicer for holding, which I would probably be doing when hanging out with doll friends. And there are some SDGR pure white bodies at Dollyteria right now, so I might take her next week to do some color matching if I feel like SD10 won't work out. It was an interesting choice in the first place for how mature her face looks.

    11. @Grimoire that's a very beautiful white skin saki and the faceup details are amazing on her. Congratulations :thumbup

    12. The faceup was done by one of Volks' own faceup artists (Saifa), so theoretically you could request the same faceup for an SD_F_59 if you get their most customized faceup option for FCS. But I think Saki's head mold is only available at Sato now, though.

I saw some Japanese tweets of people who were already applying to FCS with her faceup in mind while she was still being exhibited. :sweat I was also actually considering it if I didn't win her, but was still torn between a boy or girl FCS since Harajuku has 93 as a limited male head model until May.

    13. Just wanted to pop in here to let folks know I found clothes on Dollyteria for my SDGr boy that fit - they were labeled for SD13 and they don’t look like XXXL size on him

    14. Some
SD13 boy stuff fits well, it’s the things that were also originally advertised as fitting the 17 and Gou boys that are problematic.

And the Ryoya school uniform, that’s way too big for the Gr boy.

    15. Just received photos of my FCS girl from the proxy and she looks so cute behind the plastic face mask :XD:! She is an F-69 with order makeup and from the photos Volks captured the look I was going for quite well. F-69 is that sweet spot of resin SD but with DD features :love

    17. For Volks USA FCS orders - does anyone know if dolls ordered with sato-gaeri services take longer, or do all the FCS dolls tend to arrive and ship at the same time regardless of additional painting/sanding?

    18. Absolutely :D!!

    19. That's actually really sweet! I love that tradition and it adds an element of charm and fun to the doll buying process. Can't wait to see photos of her!

    20. Sorry about the fangirling--I swear I'll be done after this, but I had my very first omukae ceremony today and went to the studio booth after.
