I got the email for Eli today too. It is such a weird thing that I won the lottery this time. I haven't won any for a long while (5 years?)and I know she's quite popular in Asia. I quite wonder what happened this time. Congrats to everybody who won!!

@Cloudedmind : Congrats! Super happy for all the new WS Williams owners. It's going to be so interesting seeing his sculpt in WS I don't really have a concrete idea in mind yet... but want to do something kind of 'spooky' for him. What about you?

Congrats to everyone on the arrivals and wins! I got my shipping notice this morning. Now the last miracle I ask Mother SD for is a delivery while my boyfriend is not looking.

@Cloudedmind The photo that sold me on Williams was him sitting in a rocking chair with a BF Sarang on his lap, pointing a gun at a Little Lorina or Alice. I have to wonder how many people own that combination of dolls or if I should just assume it was byouyuuken who posted it in 2010. I never even considered buying Volks until I saw that boy.

@Dybbuk I'm also still mulling over ideas. I might give him my RG Williams body and put RG Will on a taller body like either the DF-H or A. Also, not sure if I want him to have a similar faceup to my RG Williams and Ernest or go in a softer direction.

@nyaaain Haha, I remember those photos. She had some great photo's of her Williams. It's unfortunate, that she doesn't seem to be around anymore.

Well, the voting is complete for the Volks Best Selection. Any guesses on if we'll get results? or just "surprise a re-release!" one day?

 

Volks does this poll every five years. It always results in a surprise re-release of various dolls and outfits, usually with a tweak of some kind to differentiate them from prior releases. They trickle out over the two or so years after the poll closes. Sometimes there will be a "Best Selection" logo next to the rereleased item when it is advertised in Volks News.

The full results are kept internal to the company, so as to avoid creating customer expectations of anything in particular coming out.

 

I’ve been curious if it’s any different this time though because after you submit the vote, it comes up with a message saying ‘the results will be in Volks news’, which I don’t remember last time, unless I forgot it.
But by result it could just mean ‘the doll getting rereleased, when it happens’ which will obviously be in Volks news regardless. I was just surprised by the message, I first noticed it on the boys SD-SD17 voting. (It also never specified which Volks News) It seems weird to bother saying it at all if that’s all it meant though. I might jumping to conclusions though.

 

Volta arrived I was able to receive the package and open the box without my boyfriend seeing. Bless. We'll see how long it take for him to realize there's another doll in the house. This body has so many joints it's insane.

His head number is 227 and his wig stopper is annoying so far.

Hina was such a cutie today that I gave her Will's eye. Cadet blue is a lot more subtle than the green eye she came with. A gift to my most beloved

 

Volks is known for changing up their rules every so often, so I agree it plausibly could be different this 5-year period! I am not expecting them to actually be more forthcoming with the data myself, but it would be welcome if they were.

I had interpreted their message on the results screen to be an attempt to proactively head-off status-inquiry questions, by telling people that anything Volks wants us to know will be printed in Volks News over time.

 

Can't wait for the Dolpa in April. The magazine has not come yet. Ewww

I don't really believe them about the vote. Just take it for fun I guess. I still choose to buy old heads on auction or tradeplace if there is good price. If Volks really resale the models I love, i would like to get a new one for twins.

 

My WS Williams boy arrived last week! I got sick with a nasty respiratory infection - so I didn't get to do much with him until today~ I absolutely adore him, and really like his default faceup! I did add a few minor touches to him to make him look a little bit different though. I hope everyone will receive their dolls soon.
