1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Volks Super Dollfie - SD, SD13, SD16, SD17, SDGr, SDGou & FCS - XXXIV

Jan 12, 2024

    1. Be sure to read this from the Volks Japan website -- ドールズ パーティー51|ボークス公式 ドルフィー総合サイト It's a lot to digest, but it may be helpful -- or confusing, lol. Gotta love Google translate.

I've attended the December 2022 and December 2023 Tokyo Dolpas. I have the GL membership, and reserved my guidebook online and picked it up at the Akihabara store before Dolpa day. There's a ticket inside that determines what line you get into for the Dolpa if you want to get a doll or shop the Volks Sumika. If you don't get an A or B number, I advise skipping that entry, and go for the General Admission line; the wait was terrible in 2022, and even worse in 2023. I'd much rather spend my time enjoying all the dealers!

Also, don't count on buying a guidebook in Japan; they were sold out at the stores.

    2. Thank you, that’s a ton of help! When you say the lines were really long, is that the general admission or the lines to get into the sumika shop and doll shop? And did you get there way before it opened or does it not matter since you have a ticket with your position? I definitely would love to see the dealer area, but it would also be cool to go to the Sumika shop if possible. Thank you!

    3. @Adele, the sumika and doll lines were both long and slow, since it would take time for each group (A, B, C and so forth) to get dolls, shop, and check out. The General Admission lines were long too, but easier for Volks to move people along in steady increments. You don't need to go extra early, other than making sure you have time to get to the Big Sight venue.

    4. @Adele I recently go to every Tokyo Dolpa and will go to the one in April this year for sure.
There will be "The time you should come" (It's different depend on your group 10:20AM for A, for example) It will show in your ticket and please stick to that. If you are late, in worse case you have to wait until the last one of H or I group enter the event.

The sumika line is only for A and B ticket if I'd said. Unless you have eyes for dolfie dream which is less popular(In general) and might be able to get with C ticket.

I was in Normal dolpa event enter line last time with C ticket (Choose to skip sumika is a right choice, even B ticket can't get Elizabeth :whee:)

The normal line is much faster, I was able to secure a sitting table for 4 of our group who participate in event that day. Some friends in our group choose to enter Sumika, and it took them hours even when one of them have B ticket. I had plenty of time walking around & shopping at dealer booth before that.

For the dealer booth... It's depend, if it isn't a very popular one, usually D or E ticket would be enough to get everything. You still need B/C ticket at least for some luxurious item like Namioka Keiko's Eyes, for example.

I miss out some items I want too last time, but gotta chat with some dolly friends is really fun, we have some food on the way back home after event end around 3:30pm and then disperse.

    5. Thank you very much for the explanation! I’m not in the market for more dolls but would love to look at the Sumika store anyway. But based on your explanation, maybe I should only bother trying if I have a good ticket! Are the ticket letters random or do the people who pre-order have a better letter than other people?

    6. Sumika will open a free access without queuing time in the afternoon. You can visit there after they clear out all the queue, don't worry :)

The ticket letter is totally random. 1 Person can buy up to 3tickets per event, so it's your choice for random more. Many people do and they sell the F G H... Ticket cheaply here in second hand market. That's also a choice if you just want to enter and don't care much about what letter you will get.

If you have any other question, feel free to ask.

    7. @Adele One fact that saturn touched on, but I think deserves a bit more emphasis, is that your entry ticket numbering (A, etc) only matters for what you want to do first in the day. Everything is open to all attendees by the afternoon so you won't miss out on going to the Sumika shop, or looking at the dealers, or playing the various games no matter what you do. The main thing to plan around is that dolls and clothes sell out and popular dealers' items sell out, so where do you want to spend your time most at the beginning of the day (dolls or dealers)?

I'm assuming they still do this, and if so, make sure to stay for the bingo game - always the very last thing at the end of the day. Even if you have to leave to get food and come back in, stick around in order to try to win the free prizes, which are very good. It's one of the few things at Dolpa that does not cost extra to participate in. (*unless something has changed; the current guidebook will specify when you pick it up. This caveat always has to be made for Volks).

    8. thank you! That is also extremely helpful! It’s amazing how different it is from the United States Dolpa I attended. I don’t think I waited more than an hour in line for the Sumika store, and there were hardly any dealers! And I didn’t know there was bingo so I’ll be sure to check the guidebook and see if they’re still doing that!

    9. So, I took a picture of all of my Williams together, plus some other of my Volks dolls. I'm just missing my vinyls, F-31, F-28, and my DSD.

    10. @Cloudedmind : Beautiful crew! Love their cohesive styling! Your new WS Williams fits in perfectly <3

    11. A new SD boy will be released at the new Dolpa next month :O!
His name is Alto and he's part of the Interstellar Dormitory Boys story.

    12. I told myself I would never buy another Volks doll again, but Alto stole my heart and RAN with it wow. I absolutely require him home! His face and look is PERFECT for me. Little bit of a story but - I had a terrible friendship that ended not too long ago that ruined Volks and the Boys Dorm for me even though I loved the lined so so much. I really thought it'd never happen again, but he feels like some sort of redemption for me. They made him exactly how I like my faces and hair. I'm so excited about him :D Need to manifest all my luck.

    13. @Dybbuk Thanks! I have way more black and white doll clothes then any one person probably needs. But, it comes in handy for stuff like this.

    14. @Cloudedmind They look amazing! Each one is unique yet they all have their own flare and personality, beautiful!

Alto looks so good, I really love his eyes (shape)! They leave room for some really neat faceup ideas, anywhere from dreamy to mischievous. I'm also loving another version of Saki, maybe one day I'll finally get one. :whee:

Speaking of eyes, my Belle's resin eyes have finally turned too yellow to be good anymore. I'm so sad since they were the eyes that really made Miss Morgan come into herself as a personality. But I had a pair of pale purple eyes sitting in the eye container that I tried....I think they work! Different, but not so different that she isn't herself.

Fun fact, since I had to look at her headplate white changing her eyes, I noticed she has the same March birth month as me. Happy Birthday and enjoy your new birthday eyes! (2013...11 years old??? Time flies!)

    16. My Elizabeth came in today and I’m in love with her! I was unsure when her default photos came out, but user photos really sold me. My first SD girl of my hobby life.

I also managed to find her secondhand a little cheaper than the VolksUSA price due to the favorable exchange rate + a Buyee coupon. I hope VolksUSA modifies their exchange rate soon, it’s hard to support the US side when the price difference is so much.

    17. Looking amazing! Doing much more good than sitting in my drawer! :D

    18. Hello everyone! Elizabeth arrived so much earlier than I thought she would and it was finally dry enough after so much rain to take a few snaps today:sweat I love her wig so much that I haven't changed it yet but I will certainly be experimenting with different ones this week as I can see how versatile she is already. What a beauty in person, I don't know that I'll ever change her face-up as it's so pretty but I can't wait to see what others will do with their Elizabeth's in the future, what fun that will be to see!

    19. Hi! I have one question regarding FCS…

I want to order a tan girl with the SD non jointed torso (M bust, B-03) and I want to put her the SD13 legs (L-02) to make her a bit taller.

What arms should I choose? SD double jointed (A-03) or SD13 double jointed (A-04)?

I want her to look good proportion wise.

      Thank you very much!!!! :3nodding:
