@OneMoreLight : well nuts! Guess the emails did go out then. Thanks for the information. I hadn't seen anyone post they won yet, so I wasn't sure. Congrats to anyone out there who got one!
I don't know what it is with volks, you get one and then they somehow multiply constantly This is a new-to-me F-22, a really fun face to paint!
@cobaltconduct : What a lovely Kun! One of my favorite molds from Volks And yes... the multiply very quickly... Enjoy the invasion!
So I just got a SD Nico (Named Gwendolyn after my late granny) and like her bangs are waaaayyy to long! Does anyone have any tips for wig cutting?
Hi guys! I realised I haven’t popped in here for… way too long. No idea how that happened Anyway, sharing a few fresh pics of Lucas — he looks kinda real in these somehow, it made me smile.
He looks amazing @Kykycik ! He definitely gives a realistic vibe, I love it! I've been working on fixing up an old F-13 head I rescued. She's going to become one of my old OCs that's a bunny girl, so her face is sort of modeling that look. Before I did a bunch of sanding and reshaping, her mouth and nose were almost completely destroyed, as were her eyelids. She's been great to practice doing restorative work on, becoming her own sculpt.
Head straight to youtube~ lots of good tutorials, some at doll scale, most from cosplayers and wig makers~
I finally figured out how to post pics to DoA lol, I know Im showing my age here but man do I miss Photobucket! Anyway, I got a new dress for my girl! But now I’m running into the age old problem of finding a place to store her clothes. What do you all do for clothes storage?
Giant storage tubs. One for each size, with outfits usually individually bagged so I can keep track of things and prevent lace etc from snagging.
Oh that's really smart! And here I was looking at doll furniture like I have space for all that as well...
Ditto on the missing photobucket -picture posting was so much easier then. I have learned to use flickr but still hate it. On the clothing storage thing. I use the plastic pull out drawer things for the larger size clothing. I have one for boy and one for girls in SD -ish size and one for western and one for kimono (the majority of my crew is 1/3rd scale) My Yos are all girls so they have one caboodles case. There is also a caboodles case or pull out drawers for each size of shoes. 1/3rd Volks type 1/3rd Iple type 1/4 and 1/6th.
I caved at a listing a fellow hobbyist had up somewhere and now I have this lovely Volks Minoru. The eyes I put in him are a placeholder but in general, he's a really nice sculpt! Please excuse the background stuff, ahaha.
Thank you so much! I thought I'd have just the one volks doll (MSD,) but I couldn't resist this guy! I can't wait to work on him!
hi everyone! I am new and have decided to make a Volks SD (maybe FCS?) my first bjd and just wanted to ask if the Volks discord is still active? if so could someone drop a link so I could join? tysm!! EDIT: Looking for an invite to Ayumist's disc in particular as they offer FCS proxy services
Hello! Does anyone here happen to have a School C head and could tell me what size wigs it takes? It seems a bit narrower in comparison to some other heads, but with Volks I'm pretty sure I won't get away with 8-9 in any case... The exact head circumference would also be helpful if anyone can measure
I have a School C, and got about 23 cm. She's in a 9-10 right now, though I've had her in Volks 8-9; this wig is Leeke, so it's down to stretch or not stretch. But 9-10 is probably more often the safer choice. (Most of my Volks dolls can wear a Volks 8-9, but no one else's.)
