Volks Tea Party in NY

Well, I've already got my F-15 registered on the site and my Kohya just arrived from VolksUsa on Thursday and I didn't get a card :\ Not sure if they're going to be sending any out just yet. Although some people said they didn't get them with dolls, just smaller things..

 

Oh yeah, I knew they nixed the 4 states things, I remember hearing about that just a few days after the whole thing was announced.

I hope they update with how they plan on selecting people, because I have an LA doll, and I have a card that says "Volks ID Card '05" with a number on it (46) and the doll was shipped to me in VA, but somebody else purchased it off the website for me - so I guess I'm one of those strange cases where it could go any which way - and if it is the case that you personally have to have purchased something off volksusa, I need to hurry up and do that!! Maybe I should just email them and ask them straight up about my case...?

Me too, Valentine - as far as I can read in this thread it still isn't clear what we have to have done on volks - registered your doll on their site, OR, purchased something thru volksusa online. SO confused. Really worried there will be some requirement i'll miss and not even have a CHANCE to go.

 

Now I'm sad because although I anticipate my FCS coming to me soon I know it won't be before May 8 and then I won't have the number (sob)...I'd esp. like to go to meet all of you guys...

 

Um... I have not purchased anything from volksusa.com and don't have a card. I do have a membership on the owners list.

So now I HAVE to purchase something from volks usa to get a card? and will it have my name on it? a personalized card?

I really don't want to buy anything from there right now so it seems a bit of a slurg. I am on the east coast and really want to go as I didn't go to the west coast event.

 

I hope this helps with all the confusion about the volks cards. I emailed them a while back (when they first posted about it) and I asked if the card I got when I bought my FCS doll was the membership card they are talking about for the event. This was their response:

"Yes, Volks ID card is the membership card. We have already
registered you as a member who purchased from us, VOLKS USA.."

I hope this helps at least a little bit...

 

When I was in Japan, it was very common for shops to issue such a card when you made a purchase.

(Rather like Barnes and Noble and Books-a-Million do here - except they charge for their discount cards.)

But yes, a purchase is a requirement. ^^;

 

Well... that's rather disappointing. The initial information was that we had to have our DOLLS registered. Guess I'll go see about buying a pair of shoes or eyes or something.

 

I don't think you get the card by buying an accesorie or outfit, you need to buy a doll.

I have a family of volks dolls here already! is the card a Personalized card? with your name on it?

 

I have a card with a number on it but I can't read what it says; is on japanese.
Treelore I am pretty sure that if you register your volks doll at the volks internatioal sd club owners you"ll be fine. Don't worry

Well I hope so, I am not willing to buy a doll just to go and ALSO sign up for the magazine subscription just to get my foot in the door thats going too far.

 

I bought two dolls online from Volks USA in the last Dolpha bunch, and neither arrived with a card of any type.
I am sure I am in their "system" as they have my address, but have never received a card, even though I registered my very first SD with them last fall, as soon as the site opened.
If it gets close to time, I will just email them and ask for my membership number, and take it with me (if I get lucky enough to be invited).

Edited to say, the folks at FDQ are definitely on the ball.....I just subscribed last week, and my first issue arrived today!

 

Yeah I think FDQ is great, even if I don't go to the tea I'm glad I got the subscription. You know my motto, is it about dolls? Cool.

Aimee ordered my FCS so I'm sure she'll get the number. If she ever gets the dolfie Haha, it's only been about 3 months normal for Volks I know...

 

I bought my doll from Volks USA and I recieved a card too. It says Volks ID Card 05 with the number 21 on it. Is that what we're talking about?

I don't think the written number really means much since I got my card (#52) at the LA event and nohbahdee got her card (#46) at a later time. I also don't believe these help keep track of purchases, since there's no bar code or anything to scan.

Also for those of you who have a card -- is Byakuren on yours, or does your card look different? Has anyone gotten a card without purchasing a doll, just items?

Yeah that is the card I got. mine says number 25.
Everyone next to relax. I am pretty sure we will have a chance to go. We are their customers....they need us to be there.
Remember that they exist only because we buy their stuff.
