1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Volks Tea Party in NY

Apr 18, 2006

    1. Once you get your invitation you must RSVP to the email address on the card. We will have name tags at the desk, so it's imperative to do so. If you don't and then just show up at the Tea - we cannot guarantee you'll get in. So please RSVP ASAP! You can call or email.
If you're bringing a guest - you must also provide the Guest's name.

PS - If you don't have an invite by Sunday the 18th - PM me.

      Added later ...
Guests can eat, take photos, and participate but only the original invitees can put in for the one-offs and raffles .
The guests will also have to pay for the FDQ special issue (sorry I didn't know that, my mistake). The special issue is free to invitees.

      Congrads to all the Attendees!
      See ya there ...

    2. I'm glad to hear this! But will only subscribers get the magazine in time to mail in the order form, or would I be able to try to buy the doll if I get my magazine off the news stand? And do you have any idea how long they will be accepting orders for?

Thanks so much for keeping us updated! ^_^

    3. Doll orders
... for those who can't attend the Tea
You can buy the July issue of the magazine (newstand, book store etc - or email FDQ and order just that issue) and send in the order form. FDQ will contact you after the event if there is a doll available. If we get more orders than dolls, then we will do a "lottery" and contact the winners. This applies to internation SD fans as well as US fans. The Tea is on July 29th - so get you order in before then.

      Good Luck,

    5. Yes I got my invite as well :)

    6. Just found out that Guests will have the opportunity to buy the exclusive doll, but the invitees will have first option before guests of the invitees. And for Guests the FDQ special event issue is $7.50.

    7. This may be a stupid question, but do you know what sort of dress is expected? Like, is this a formal event or a casual event?

    8. Its not black-tie formal, or that would be stated on the invitation. But since it is a party, I plan on dressing up a bit for it. Think of it as a good excuse to pull your fancy afternoon appropiate duds out for a spin, and save your regular clothes for every other day. ;)

Can't wait to see everyone in the Big Apple!

      Hugs, Juli DC :D

    9. Like JuliDC said, it's not the most formal event, but it's not really something you'd wear tattered jeans and a t-shirt to.

I'd say "business casual" would be appropriate. Most people wore dresses, skirts, or nice slacks to the Tea Party in LA. Some wore EL/EGL. I also saw a few wearing nice jeans and a nice shirt. There was one girl that wore a gorgeous Kimono, too.

    10. I can't wait to meet everybody! And forget about me, what will Kohana wear? People bring dolfies right? Volks of course, I'm not that hopelessly dim!

    11. Hey Stella we will get to meet :)

JULIDC - Did you get my pm? the room is booked and is also in your name so they will know who you are when you turn up!

    12. Treelore, I know! I'm ridiculously excited! I wish I could show you my girls in their outfits!

    13. Ah thats very touching!! I held onto the outfits for so long thinking I would one day get an SD sized girl for them but it just never happened, apart from my Unoss who is a demon and so her style is very dark.. SO glad they went to someone that really appreciates them.

Idea: maybe we should print out little id's with our sig picture and our den name on them :) to wear to the event, it would be fun know who you are greeting!! or avoid some one ( Just kidding! )

      For instance:

    14. i can help "design" badges if anybody wants me to..sounds like fun =3

    15. I was originally just thinking of putting it together in photoshop and printing it out, cutting it out and sticking it to some cardboard, or just attaching the paper with a pin and no cardboard. However if anyone has a badge maker we could email that person the graphic and they could create the badge and give them out once there. Just an idea.

It would be best to use the same pic you have on here of course, as the purpose is to jog the memory! and I know I relate the person to the image they use as well as the name.

NOTE: I just added this to the meet up thread, I guess there is a thread in general too where this could go. I forgot this is the news area!

    16. Again....anyone from the West Coast (or just west of Texas) get their invites yet???? Or is this an all East Coast kind of tea party??? Just wondering - Alex

    17. There's a whole name badge count and thread somewhere...

    18. Yep I saw that it came up as a suggestion right after I mentioned it! thats serendipity for you.

    19. I just got it today and I am in South Florida.
      Hope this helps.

      Geri

    20. I'm in Texas and I got mine a few days ago.
