Was your first doll a boy or girl?

Jun 17, 2014

1. My first doll was a boy - and I actually kind of regret it now! Even though I loved him at the beginning, soon I realized I preferred making clothes and taking pictures of girls, and I just find them more fun to play with in general. So the rest of my dolls are almost all girls, and all the ones I'm going to buy in the future will probably be girls too :P

2. I love boy dolls, but I got a girl as my first.:aheartbea

3. I bought 2 girls first and then a little later my boy. But he's just one of the girls, so they're all demanding I get each of them boyfriends. -__- like money grows from gherkins,...cabbages? Um..whatever that expression is!

4. I have yet to buy my first doll but it will be a boy just because I've had his character in mind for ages and want to bring him to life through doll form. Although, it seems like it would be way more fun to dress up and play with a girl doll. So much more clothing options :sweat

5. Most of my dolls are girl and my first was a girl. I have two boys.

6. I don't have my first doll yet but I've already chosen and I know I'll get a girl first. I want to make her into a character I've had for a long time who's very special to me. After that, only time will tell. I have a lot more female characters than male characters and I generally like girl dolls better, but I plan to have at least one boy at some point. Knowing myself I'll probably have a few girls by then though!

7. My first doll was a boy, but It was just because I have a list of characters that I want to shell and the sculpt made me think of one of my boys. :)

8. i liked boys and plannd the first to be a boy
but it was only the forth one i got ended up as a boy

but in rewlife
i always like female artists more
maybe thats the reason

9. My first doll was a boy, even though I was looking for a girl. I kept admiring the beautiful dresses people had on their girl dolls, so I thought I'd want a girl first. But I ended up falling in love with a boy sculpt after all and didn't have the heart to dress him in girly clothes. My second doll, which I'm currently waiting, is going to be a girl though, so I'll finally get to buy all those adorable dresses and skirts.

10. Girl dolls just seem to appeal to me more I guess. I want a boy so badly (maybe a Soul Doll), but every time I see one I like, I find another girl and it's so hard to choose! :/

11. My first doll was a boy sculpt on a girl body.

12. My first doll was a 70cm boy (despite having decided that I was going to look for a 45cm-ish girl!). I don't regret getting him exactly but he has proven difficult to find a character for - I find it much easier to work out the style and personality of female dolls, which is something I hadn't realised before getting him. And he's also shown me that I know little about men's clothing beyond jeans and t-shirts! Thankfully after having him for about 8 months, I seem to be moving towards settling on a character for him, which is a relief. I was worried it would never happen!

13. @MadMisery try a girly boy cutie - problem will be solved <3 @glyndon I once had such a hybrid too :3 worked out nicely ;) @Zaliayn it's good you've worked it out eventually anyway :)

as regards my first doll... it was a boy. Two boys actually, because I ordered the other one while witing for the first and they came in the same box - the company just had an event. One was (in my head) manly and the other extremely girly. Like, really. Initially though I aimed at a very manly bjd guy. it's funny though, because nowadays I mostly have girls and just one boy and he's still modelled on Louis the 15th so... he's not the manliest either ;) if I could turn back time I'd have owned only two dolls - a boy and a girl.

14. My first was a boy ♂, immediately followed by a gaggle of girls♀.

15. CutieKitty I'm not a big fan of the whole girly boys :/ If ima have a boy doll, he's going to look and act like a boy :c

Nothing against those dolls, I'm just not a fan .

16. I prefer girls for the aesthetic and the fashion possibilities. Especially the bigger ones. However, my first doll was a pair (boy and girl, and they arrived the same time).

Right now I have 3 girls, and 1 boy. But I would LOOOOVE a Leel doll Livan and the Dollshe men: David Kuncci and Grant Philippe. Those guys are yummy!!!!! :D:D:D:D

17. My first was a boy. My second was a girl. My third was a boy. My fourth was a girl. ;) It's still about fifty-fifty, including two girl dolls that are boy characters.

The 'girls are more fun to dress' argument doesn't count for my dolls because their characters are medieval. In the good old days, men's dress was every bit as exciting as women's dress, if not more so. Yippee! I also find the boys easier to sew for - because they don't have those pesky bosoms!

18. My first (and right now only lol) doll is a boy! Soom Chrom with his cute lil wolf ears >w<

19. My first BJD is a girl and i guess all of my dolls 'll be girls :3

20. My first doll was a boy and so was the first doll that I bought xD

I got an angel region tan Kai as a gift that got me into collecting, and my first actual purchase was a Soom tan godo.

My third was a girl though and also my first msd :3

Overall my collection seems to have a lot more girls than boys.

I have a harder time picking out boys to bring home vs girls don't know why lol
