1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Was your first doll a boy or girl?

Jun 17, 2014

    1. Surprisingly, my first was a boy. Then three girls. I have plans for 6 boys and 8 girls if ever I win the lottery. I tend to be more comfortable writing girls, so the (almost) balanced numbers are shocking to me..

    2. Boy dolls got me into the hobby and my first two were boys, they're the only ones I still have. I find bonding with the girls harder, but I think when I can get an SD16 girl that she will be perfect for me.

    3. Boys made it plural because I've lusted over multiple sculpts so when I bought my first (funny story for an other time) the rest followed suit within days of each other. Now Im waiting for their arrival lol. But its just because the females have not Caught my eye yet. You know when a doll is thee doll. Just hasnt sparked with a girl doll...yet...

    4. My first doll was a boy. I tend to have a preference for only boy dolls, though maybe that will change one day... :XD:

    5. When I was younger I was only interested in boy dolls. However, now I like the girls much more and I'm getting a Feeple60 Lacrima as my first doll. Funny how my preference has changed.

    6. My first is a boy!but iI love girls too.New I have both!

    7. My first was a Boy and I guess they has tainted me forever I have bought and sold so many girl dolls at this point....I think I cursed to not have any girls in the house...I am downsizing my collection a lot right now and will most likely end up with only two boys I might keep my yosd girl but am not buying anymore girl dolls!

    8. My first doll was a girl, and most of my subsequent dolls have been female, as well. I like boy dolls, and I've had a couple, but they're so hard for me to dress the way I want.

    9. Girl, though I wish it was a boy...

    10. My first doll is a guy. It's mostly just because I fell in love with the sculpt as-was but also because of the lack of variety for male dolls whilst I was growing up. I'm still so amazed at just how much stuff there is for masculine dolls in this hobby.

    11. My first bjd was a boy because I thought he would pose the best. Now I have a nice mix of guys and gals that I really enjoy having around.

    12. My first was a boy. I was more drawn to the idea of boy dolls when I got into it.

    13. My first BJD was a boy. I loved the sculpt when a friend showed her own doll off online and figured then and there that I'd save up (took about 6-8 months) for my own. As of October I've had "Tai" with me, a Tan SD El from Luts/ CP.

I also started out just thinking of getting two, but things ran away in many directions! (As they tend to do with these dolls.) So now my resin roommate count is 4 boys and 2 girls, and I love them all. I even started out thinking that the only dolls I'd ever really love would be CP/Luts ones and nope - I've ended up with a cute little CH girl and a handsome Dollmore Kara Klum. I totally did NOT see either of them coming, let me tell you! XD

This hobby has a way of surprising you like that.

    14. All of mine are girls right now! I'd love to bring home some boys, though!

    15. My first doll was a boy. I actually plan on having mostly boys in my collection, but there are some girls I'm interested in buying too xD

    16. My first doll was a boy; I'm very picky with both head sculpts and bodies, and Fairyland was the only company I knew at the time that let you "stick" female heads on male bodies and vice versa.

The first doll I wanted was coincidentally also a boy

    17. I only want girl dolls, but I dress them in boy clothes. And they tend to have short hair and look pretty androgynous.

    18. My first doll was a girl and seem to I prefer girls when buying new dolls. :kitty2
I dunno why but maybe it's because girl dolls look good in boy clothes too. I adore tomboy and andro girl characters. :D

    19. My first doll was a girl and most of my dolls are girls. I have been considering a resin soul gang but the next sculpt I would like to get would be a blue fairy girl.

    20. My first was a girl, and now I have 3 girls and 1 boy. I'd like to get more boys, but girls are just so much easier to get clothes for.
