Was your first doll a boy or girl?

Jun 17, 2014

    1. Boy. And yesterday I ordered 4 boys and one girl...I still love my boys! I own some girls but love the boys.

    2. A boy. I thought I would like girls more but these boy sculpts keep calling me lol

    3. My first doll was a girl, but I had always been planning to buy a small-chested female and mod her to have a flat chest to get the wide hips. That probably won't happen with the doll I ended up buying, but I do prefer the more feminine male dolls, so that's hopefully what my collection will be made up of.

    4. Girls for me. I have admired a lot of the boy dolls I have seen, but I just don't think a boy doll would be a good fit for me. I couldn't see myself bonding with him, so I stick with my girl dolls :)

    5. My first is a girl and while doong my research on my mind I was thinking that I wouldn't get boys but lo and behold, after getting my first doll, I found 2 boy sculpts that I like and I've added them to my wishlist. As for my next doll, it pwuld really depend on the circumstances but my girls are the priority.

    6. My first doll is a girl. When I ordered her, I envisioned her wearing girly, wispy, floral & lace outfits. Not so. She made it very clear that she loved being a girl, but was a tomboy. She selected camouflage pants & a hoodie when we shopped for her clothes on ebay. I wouldn't change her for the world.

    7. My first doll was a girl ♪
      I would love to have a male doll one day, to shell a certain character, but I'm a bit picky with sculpts... (*´∀`*);

    8. I prefer girls all the way. I'm not really sure why but every boy sculpt I've looked at just never really clicked with me (also I think the wieners on the male bodies just kind of freak me out). There could be a male sculpt one day that fits my tastes, but it's rather unlikely.

    9. My first will be a boy. I do plan on eventually getting him a girlfriend, but I wouldn't be surprised if I were eventually to end up with an uneven ratio. Girls do have more clothing options, but since I like the fantasy genre I do have some more freedom. I guess I've just seen too many girl dolls, except for a few Kens and the like, and the boys ended up more unique and appealing.

    10. I gravitate towards girl dolls because I like to dress them in things I would want to wear in real life or styles I really like. The only male doll I've really wanted to buy was a Dollshe Husky but I don't have room for such a pouty monster XD I do love seeing well dressed boy dolls, guess I'm just intimidated by the idea of sewing pants.

    11. Girl. Much better options for clothing, shoes, accessories, wigs and overall style.

Also, for dolls that are based on a licensed character they are almost always female.

    12. My first was a boy. I didn't plan on ordering any girls at first, but my 3rd and 4th dolls (excluding tiny dolls) were both girls. Now I'm waiting for a boy doll again. Both have their own good points and bad points, so I don't really prefer either gender.

    13. My first doll was a boy. I do love having boy dolls, but in general I would like to have an even amount of boys and girls. I currently have more girls than boys lol.

    14. My first doll was a boy, and I'm planning on ordering a new boy soon too. I have a pretty small doll family and it's around half and half for girls and boys, but I will note that my boys are all SDs (including the new one) and I only own 1 MSD girl (and my extremely small NotDoll/RoxyDoll Lucy). I lean towards boys most often for no reason in particular, maybe because BJDs make such ornate and beautiful boy dolls and not very many other mediums of boy dolls have the same charm to me? But I'd like more girls too...Struggle.

    15. My first doll was a boy, but I ended up selling him after about 6 months. I didn't buy another boy doll for 10 years, until earlier this month when I got my Soom Shoshon.

    16. He's not here yet, but my first BDJ is a boy. It strikes me as really funny because I've collected fashion dolls for years and years and only ever been interested in the girl ones. I never would have thought I'd fancy a male BJD! XD

    17. A female EID will be my first BJD when she gets here. She's still at Iplehouse getting her faceup done.

I'd love to have a male SD someday, but so far I've been more tempted by the ladies. They're so pretty. :) I'm confident that I can sew costumes for them. Guys are more daunting because I know next to nothing about tailoring men's clothing. If I learn to make suits for my 40cm fashion doll guys, I might buy myself a BJD boy as a reward.

    18. My first BJD is a boy! Most of my OCs are boys, but there are prettier clothes for girl dolls so I feel that my future BJD collection is going to be primarily girls...we will see!

    19. My first BJD was a female, however, my current plans are to make a family based on the show Karin which does include several boys and men. I also like a few of the more manly sculpts I have seen while window shopping. For me I can sew so clothes aren't too big of an issue for boys. ;)

    20. I wanted to make a new post now that I actually have my first doll.
My first doll was a male and I currently only have male dolls. My first doll is a Resinsoul Bao and the most precious little guy ever!
