1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

"Waste of Money?"

Nov 27, 2009

    1. LOL A reborn collector? I guess she's just thinking you'll not stick with it, not that you are wasting your money. MY mother, back in the day, argued w/me over buying Beatles' albums. She did get one for my 12th birthday but said she hoped I'd still listen to it 6 months later. LOL I STILL rag her about that, decades later LOL.
Art is never a waste of money.

    2. Eh, I think something's only a waste of money if you buy it and never look at it or think about it again. Dolls are a creative outlet for me, and people just see it as weird, but art, which seems acceptable to them. Besides, you can't take your money with you--if dolls are factored into your budget, who's to say they're a waste? They're no more a waste of money than the people who buy a new iphone every time the next generation comes out.

    3. I agree with @Hiltti, we all have our funds that we spend on things that makes us happy and that's all, I don't care if they are designer shoes, dolls or laptop accessories.
So if you have the funds and buying a doll is going to make you happy and you are going to enjoy that doll, who can say a word?

    4. Does it make you happy? Can you afford it? If the answers to these questions are both yes, then it's not a waste of money. Lots of people have expensive hobbies. This is just one type of expensive hobby.

    5. My mum doesn't understand why I spend so much on dolls, she thinks it is a little ridiculous, but then I am like it is my money and life so who cares. But on the other hand my grandma thinks they are wonderful and thinks that the prices of my Resinsouls are totally reasonable. So I end up just not talking to mum about my dolls at all.
My mum also thinks they are super creepy so she tends not to want to know much about them =/ but you know what I have my grandma and funnily enough my younger brother who think they are cool so that's good enough.

    6. I just say that since it's my money that I worked my butt off for, I can spend it however I want. I don't buy enough stuff for this expensive hobby to interfere with priority expenses so it's not a problem.
