1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Weird question/request(s) you got about your dolls

Apr 27, 2022

    1. That's actually a very common reaction regardless of the type of doll.

      The first thing most non-doll people do when handed a doll is tip it up to look up the skirt. Some innate urge to check there are knickers, perhaps.. I don't know but I've seen it happen so often that I regard it as commonplace. I mean every adult who handled my childhood dolls did it so, including my (much older) sister who knitted outfits for my dolls when I was small.

    2. Really? That was the only time I ever remember a non-doll person doing it to one of my girls, so it stood out as strange to me. Doll people have done it to check joints or clothing, but not non-doll people. Though admittedly, I mostly have boys or girls that wear pants, so maybe that’s why it seemed so weird to me!

    3. Honest! I know it's not just me since it's a phenomenon often talked about on doll forums

    4. I guess I’m the weirdo then! :XD: But I do have more girls now so maybe I should prepare myself!

    5. That's so interesting! I wonder if it's just a doll thing or if it's just some human thing that happens to look weird when it's a doll... as in, when you hand someone a fruit or a stone, they tend to turn it over in their hands - or for a hollow tube, people will immediately want to look inside. But because the object in question is person-like, that urge to "inspect" kinda looks creepy instead... :lol:
      I'm kinda guilty of doing this, but I think it's because of those porcelain angels and other antique figures my grandmother and great-grandmother collected that didn't have any legs (just a big dress with nothing inside). Made me think that dolls/figures don't come with legs by default, apparently!:XD:

      Right!? That was so weird but funny at the same time! I'm just glad that person unfollowed me and back off :lol:
      And I love your in-law's reaction haha, like, walk in and saw something shocking, and just accpeted it and walk out haha

      @Alice-of-Clover
      Hahahaha a lot of people out there are afraid of dolls for sure! I hope your bf gets used to your dolls soon XD
