1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What are your ongoing plans and projects for your current dolls?

Jul 21, 2020

    1. I don't have my doll yet, but I've already made a dress form based on her measurements and a body suit pattern. With that, I've started making a late 1880s walking suit that I'm going to leave the closures open for so I can adjust. I've also started making a wig with hair I've saved from trimming and thinning my own wig. I'm going to really ramp up the dress making when she gets here, but I don't want her to be naked upon arrival.

    2. I’m working on a doll house I started two years ago.. yesterday I managed to attach the shutters, window garden boxes and doorstep. Tomorrow I hope to colour the front door and add some trim. I’d like to sew some clothing and fix a couple wigs when I can find time.

    3. I’m a diorama maker, so right now I’m working on two. They both involve painting to customize pre-made pieces to make them work for the dolls who will call them home. One is a Calico Critters home that I’m making a Woodland theme and the other is a home for one of my new incoming dolls that I had originally customized for another doll I’ve recently sold. It’s so much fun to have two projects to look forward to whenever I wake up! :3nodding:

    4. Argh... so many!

So... first... Durga (my iple Leonard) needs a face, and not only does he need one but his character is... a decently mature man going on his fifties so that means... wrinkles, skin texture and fun stuff! I'm also planning to make him an angora wig for the added waviness and his character also has sideburns so that will be very fun to try. He also needs a tattoo at the side of his neck and I'm seriously tempted to blush him top to bottom. The EID body is simply gorgeous.

Then we have Yasuo (soom York) who somehow landed himself a very unexpected body and now needs a proper wig to go on his beautiful head. Is it my fault that he doesn't have a wig after 2 years of being in this home? Yes.... yes it is. But still...

Then Celeste (minifee Rendia) needs to be stripped off of her faceup, colormatched to tan when her body comes in the mail and given a faceup... and a wig...

And I'm also working on making props these days! I finished a Japanese soji screen the other day! it was lovely!

    5. Finally just bought a cabinet for all my dolls' clothes so I'll be setting that up and organizing outfits and eyes later this week, so that'll be a nice productive-feeling project! <3

    6. I’m getting back into doing more with my dolls after quite some time when I didn’t handle them except for regular cleaning and occasional change of clothes due to heavy work and personal life commitments, so in a sense I feel like i’m rediscovering my dolls and the hobby. I’m also in the process of organising their clothes, eyes and wigs, experimenting with new combinations, and deciding what I want to keep or let go, which will probably keep me busy for some time :)

    8. Selling most of them, lol.

    9. I need to sort out my money/Space situation but for various reasons that's out of my hands so I'll daydream while I wait!
      • My Saint OE head needs a face-up and I'd like to do it myself so I'll need to pick up sealant and chalk pastels.
      • Speaking of Saint, he needs a name, because he's been stored up I haven't really worked that out so I need to figure out who he is!
      • He also needs a body, I just made a list of possible body options that will match the resin and be the right size and shape.
      • I would also like to redo Brynn's face and get him properly clothed. The only clothes he has at the moment are placeholders that I made so he'd stop being nakie and they're 110% incorrect for him.
      • I want to get better at sewing, I can follow instructions, but I want the results to be more than mediocre at best, and I'd love if I could actually design and then make the clothes. To do that though I need fabric because right now I can't do a thing since thread etc is fairly useless without fabric to actually make into the clothes.
      • I'd also really like to get my first girl doll.
      • It'd be super cool if I could take photos of my dolls once I get them to a point where they look more like themselves. I don't know much about photography or anything, but I can always learn!
      • Brynn will be needing his hot glue sueding redone, I've got the materials for that though so that'll be a nice easy one once I have space!
If I made this into a shopping list instead it'd be something like...
      • Chalk Pastels
      • Matte Sealant
      • Body for Saint
      • Fabric
      • My First Girl BJD
I feel like this is so much more realistic than I used to be, I used to wish I could buy tons of dolls every year, but having other hobbies and very limited means honestly I'll be happy if I can get like a doll a year and just get them looking like themselves and give them the attention they need. Sorry for the post length, I just really like lists and planning!

    10. I'm planning to get more clothes. I want all of my dolls to have at least two outfits each. Saving up the money will take time, but the long term planning and looking through clothes is a lot of fun. I also want to get more written for their characters since my newest only has a name and some very basic backstory.

    11. No more plans. I always fail...:sweat

    12. I've got an ongoing project that is taking far too long because I procrastinate way too much, turning two dolls [off-topic sculpts] into my favourite Capcom leading men, Leon and Dante. But it's something that I can work at in my own time; there's no deadline. Leon is lot more 'done' than Dante, but they both have so many different 'iterations' and costumes that, until Capcom ends their stories indefinitely, I've got a lot of work ahead of me.

I've got another plan for an imminent FID Bichun, to turn him into an OC of mine. While also planning on switching my resin dolls for FID or similar fashion-size alternatives, if Bichun settles in to my collection. I did start out loving the 65-70cm sizes, but they're not all that accessible. They're rather bulky and difficult to take out [not that I've tried, on account of having few options for their transport]. I like the idea of Fashion size, similar in height to a MSD but with mature faces and bodies, making them accessible and transportable. I'm eagerly awaiting Bichun, like he's the start of a new adventure! :XD:

    13. I just bought another doll (Luts Tiny Delf 16 Hansel) today so I'm planning on her look, outfit, and story at the moment. When she arrives in a few months I'll have to do her faceup but I'm actually really excited to do it as I've already made the design. My other dolls are more or less complete so I'm really excited to get a new project and a new little travel companion. :)

    14. Not sure if my crew will get new faceups this year after all, but I definitely want to set up some photoshoots here at home! My mom and sisters all collect dolls, and with our local convention postponed for safety reasons, it would be nice to do something at home since we're holed up together with the dolls. It'll be fun to see what kind of backdrops we can make out of the stuff we've got lying around, for the different scaled dolls we have.

I do want to make some things for the dolls I have currently, props or clothing items, before my new boy arrives. I know once he gets here, he's going to be my focus for a while, and I don't want to leave anyone out, so while I wait, I won't just be building up a stock of things for the new boy, but making sure to spend time and energy on crafting for and taking photos with the dolls at home. I've been planning for AGES to make kigurumi for Vince and I might as well make one for Pete while I'm at it since we've got loads of fleece, and I've got everything I need to make an outfit for Marigold, too.

(and maybe just some cuddle time, sometimes it's nice to have the gentle weight of a doll in my lap while I'm watching TV, even when I've given up on progress on a sewing project)

    15. My human family needs to have new strings and a renewed hot glue on a couple of joints that simply won't collaborate because their engineering is not the best. One can't even sit properly because his butt doesn't have a cap to hold the legs in place :(
One of my tiny anthros needs heterochromatic eyes so he is completed and I can start taking pictures of the whole gang together being wise, cute and grumpy respectively xD but that may take some time so I may spam a couple pictures here and there anyway.
Besides that, all of them are in need of new clothing, so first I have to get rid of the things I don't use anymore and then I'll have the funds to get a couple new items for them.

    16. I really need to work on a wardrobe for my dolls since they barley have any clothes or shoes rip. :sweat I also need more eyes and wigs since I don't have very much of those either. ^^;

    17. Oh I have less on my plate than usually actually. My to-do list says:

-Make a wig for one doll and order fibers for two other wigs and make them
-finish current faceup project and wipe and repaint two other dolls
-wait for a bunch of eyes and swap them into the dolls
-make gun belts, holsters and bandoliers for bullets, a couple of each
-sew snap fasteners and buttons on a few unfinished outfits
      -get bodies for two heads
-craft sd sized eyeglasses (and find wire for it)
-Make a couple of leather satchels
-sew one outfit (I already made the skirt, yay)

Okay, that is not so little after all.

    18. Well... my Volks Shiratori stole my Soom Heliot's busty girl body and isn't going to give it back... ever. So, now I need 3 girl bodies, and possibly one head, it depends on what happens with my new Iplehouse boy body and my Luts Abadon head when I get home.

My fiancee has stated that I can't sell Shiratori's body, because it's Shiratori's body, so I have two floating bodies that are boys, and three floating heads that are supposed to be girls.

I need a Soom Supergem Girl Body or an Iplehouse EID girl body in WS for Heliot. Then my Volks Luna is supposed to be a more adult, and I bought a new Volks DWC-01, which is supposed to be the main character of my novel, Morgan... it's gonna be obnoxious to find them a body, because Morgan's genderfluid, but biologically female. I don't know where to get a body that's flatter chested.

      Way to be complicated guys...

    19. I just got custom wigs done and now just waiting for the face ups in Malaysia. I debating between going with law and order detectives or Sherlock Holmes and Watson theme.

    20. Cleaning some dolls I bought second hand, doing face up to the new heads, making wig, clothes and shoes. I sometimes also make them jewelries. :3nodding:
