1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What are your opinions on layaway?

Aug 11, 2012

    1. Layaway is a great option in my opinion if a limited doll you really want appears. It does require that you are 100% sure you can pay off the layaway, personally my current life is very stable so I know how much money I have each month and that I currently have very low chances of any surprises popping up that require money. For regular stock dolls I would not do a layaway, simply because at the end of the day i prefer to get the entire payment out of the way whenever possible. If they're available at any time, there is time to save up

    2. Like many people have mentioned,
I think layaways are good, but only for responsible people.
Personally, for me layaway was a blessing,
I found my dream doll and I could only get him through layaway because of all the holiday expenses (otherwise I would have been able to afford him straight up).
However, I would never put multiple items on layaway because I feel like that would not work for me.
In other words, this is not a cheap hobby, and layaway is good for people who can't afford to pay straight up.

    3. I would only do it if your positive you'll have the funds for it, same as a credit card.
