1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What attracts you to comment on picture posts?

Jan 10, 2010

    1. What attracts me to comment is the fascination a photo is giving me every time or once i look at it.

    2. For me, it's few things. First, if photo (or face up/clothing/etc) is skillfully done, second, if there is something in pic I want to give critique of, and last, if the picture affect me in a strong way I probably comment on it.

    3. I comment when I see a touching piece...I view dolls as art..art isn't always aesthetically pleasing, is a combination of various things producing that ineffable thought, that prompts you to reach out...

    4. Usually something about the picture(s) compels me to comment whether it be the clothes the doll is wearing, the sculpt itself (if there's an F-01 I'll be there) and/or if I'm a fan of that particular doll/doll owner (sometimes the location too). I also comment when the owner has either created a certain atmosphere in the photo or they've customized their doll in a way that I find so appealing that I need to tell them that their doll/photography is amazing!
I'm not a very talkative person though so unless something really compels me to do otherwise, I generally lurk.

    5. I comment only when I feel moved, when something inspires me or when I want to ask owner about something. I don't go by numbers. I don't care how many people has 'liked' or commented on the photo.I don't do pity and I don't lie. I agree tho that some of the pictures are underestimated and should be praised a little. I do that when I see the potential in author. When I feel he/she can do more inspiring stuff, but maybe need a little of feedback. Also... to me doll photography is a form of art. I don't have favorite sculpts i go after. If I see great photo featuring a sculpt I normally don't like... I will 'like' or comment. because beauty is hidden everywhere and I don't feel the need to be restricted by i.ex. "soom only"^_^

    6. I'm the kind of person who hits [the like/fave button] and runs, so it'd take a really interesting photo to get me to stop long enough to actually comment on it if I don't have some kind of question.

Mostly because when people ask "what do you like about it?" I just reply "I dunno, I just do." So I refrain from adding natter. I like a lot of things but care about very little- I guess you could say something about the work has to make me care about it enough to leave an opinion on it.

    7. Sometimes I like something and just need to say something even if is a little 'love it!'. I usually check companies and sculpts I like, Alternative styles, supernatural and fantasy type of sculpts and so on, but can be the aesthetic of the photo or even theme. Sometimes it just hit me and there it go.
