Okay, does anyone know if the Bambi's can wear the Apple Doll clothing? ( I like Mirari's outfit...) http://moeroshop.net/images/large/polymark/jvm-LITTLE-APPLE-DOLLS-MIRARI_LRG.jpg?zenid=363aa7b6fcd00eab5cbfb0aaab918825
Alafosca - that's adorable and I'm real surprised about the sunglasses. mary-lee - they're great! Can she sit in them? And are they a bit lowcut - is that the waistband just below the sweater fringe? (I was wondering how they would look with a shorter top) Carolyn
If you mean the regular Apple Dolls *not the tiny ones* then not really. The clothes on my two apple dolls fit my msd, so they'd be quite a bit too big. I've never had experience with the tiny apple dolls, but I think they are very very small, so a "probably not" on that one, too.
Barbie stuff has to be a loose or stretchy item to fit. And some of the current items that look like stretch fabric (a dense cotton knit) don't actually stretch. It's dicey trying to find things that fit. However, I did get a great lavender wide-sleeve jacket, and a couple of tops and skirts that work. If you look for stratch skirts that fit Barbie at her hips, and stretch tops with shoulder straps you'll have better luck than trying random items. I have wondered if clothes for Goodreau "Snappy" doll would fit - they claim to fit Kish Riley but look loose in photos on Riley. http://www.goodreaudoll.com/Pages/Snappy.html http://www.dollpeddlar.com/index.php?cPath=1234&sort=2a&filter_id=89 http://www.denverdoll.com/snappydolls.html I found out their height once and then forgot! I now cannot find it. Carolyn
>< wow not a whole lot on here for people who want to dress boy dolls *cries* I guess this means I finally have to break down and learn how to sew XDDDD
Found it - they are 8" dolls. Riley's 8" but she's on the skinny side. Maybe these would fit on a Baha. I'm doubting they would fit any 10" dolls. They would definately fit one of my sister's dolls - an LT Fine.
For those who wonder about barbie clothes...especially those wanting to dress boys: Both the shirt and the pants are from an old 80's Ken doll. The Ken doll from the past was a lot wider then he is today. Especially in the hips. Old clothes fit, new style clothes SOMETIMES fit.
I'm going to Toys R Us on Sunday and I was wondering if there is anything specific I can get for my little girl !
I just purchased LadySaiyuki's little guy, and he arrived yesterday. So today we tried on some different Snappy outfits, and they are a bit hit or miss. Most of the short sleeved shirts seem to fit good, but not the long sleeved ones. The pants really vary, one pair of cargo shorts fit but could barely be snapped. The elastic waisted pj bottoms fit, but the little elastic waisted Chinese pants would only go halfway up his thighs. Yet, a pair of elastic waisted green pants fit, so it depends on the pants. Of course they're capri or surf shorts length. The little one piece pirate outfit was two short to get the shirt on, and the Peter Pan tunic fit but was a little short. The hats and shoes don't fit at all, although if the little felt Peter Pan shoes would if they were just a wee bit bigger. I took some pics and I'll post them as soon as I get a chance to upload them. I expect that with the exception of a few pieces, my little 8" Mus will be getting most of the Snappy outfits I bought. However, if you have any sewing skills at all, you could use the Snappy outfits as basic guidelines to make patterns for similar types of clothing and to see how things are assembled. You'd just need to inlarge your patterns a bit. Some of them are quite simply made, and remind me a lot of some of the older 50s and 60s Ginny doll outfits.
Hmmm - interesting. Too bad so many didn't seem to fit. I tried some Groovy Girls shirts and they were too big. Carolyn
Okay, here are the pics of the Snappy outfits. The Mickey T-shirt is from one outfit, and the pink cargo shorts are from another. The little t-shirt fits really well. The shorts would barely snap, and I suspect would pop open if he sat. The pj bottoms fit okay, but the arm holes of the top were just too small. This little Chinese outfit is adorable, and the little top fit really well, but as you can see the pants were too tight. This little pair of green pants fit as well, though they are more like capri pants or surfer shorts. The little one piece pirate costume was too short to get the shirt part on, although I suspect that the arm holes would have been too small again. There was a little vest too, which fit although it was so short that it looked more like he was wearing some sort of scarf. Then we have the slightly risque Peter Pan costume, lol. The little tights while plenty stretchy, are just too short and won't reach his waist. The tunic's brown belt should be at his waist, and the bottom of the tunic should hit about mid-thigh. The little hat is way too small, however the little shoes almost fit. If I had stretched them just a bit they would have gone on, but I didn't want to risk tearing them. They are just felt, and felt can tear easily.
I think the Snappy outfits might fit a Baha, or Cherishdoll better. Right now my Sisley is wearing a blue sleeveless sailor dress made for a Battat baby doll and a pair of bloomers I stole off a porcelain doll. I had to take the waist up to make them fit, and they're knee length, but that looks great under the short dress. I really do need to do some sewing for Sophie.
