1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What Do You Do While You Wait?

Jul 30, 2016

    1. Fret constantly, fantasize about buying excessive amounts of accessories, and bother the companies with order add-ons.

    2. Pack things away, take a break, fantasize about the moment when the dolls do arrive :)

    3. Look up clothing patterns, browse accessories and keep myself busy with other hobbies. I worry a lot too so I keep a close eye on my order just incase something goes wrong

    4. Yeah I've been planning my character and planning props (I've found you can't purchase a lot of props I want).
I would love to see these character sheets!!

    5. Oops hit enter accidentally.

I don't have access to my laptop right now but my character sheets are just a list of things to fill out: full name, preferred name, birthdate, birthplace, zodiac sign, height, weight, family, pets, if they're in a relationship and with whom, sculpt, likes, dislikes, job, fear, car, fave foods, hobbies, interests, piercings, tattoos, ID marks, and any odd or important facts.

    6. I try to not think about it I just play my favorite MMORPG to kill time

    7. mostyl looking for ideas to photograph dolls in instagram or flickr or just keep myself busy with other stuff like watching anime or reading manga

    8. Well, when I was waiting for my first doll I constantly checked her order status :P I planned out her look, I scoured the internet for clothing, wigs, eyes. I could spend hours shopping for my doll, I love browsing. I spent my time on Instagram looking at other people's dolls and I looked at reference pictures. I also watched soo many doll box openings on youtube :D Right now I'm waiting for my doll head to get back from a faceup, so I've been spending my time looking for the perfect pair of eyes for her new look. It's like a love hate relationship when it comes to waiting for dolls. Hate waiting, but love the feeling of excitement to finally get them home~

    9. I usually already sew clothes and buy furniture while waiting, or plan face ups and see when I can afford the next one so my newest doll doesn't have to be alone for too long (I only have one on the way yet, so there's that)

    10. I would look for outfits, eyes, and wigs for them.

    11. Gather what I have for them before I get them, look up clothing and other such items and imagine buying them all!xD

    12. I pretty much do the same as @skyf
I like to buy everything they need if I can afford to, like clothes and wig making supplies or fabrics so I can sew for them. Sometimes I try to figure out their character some more and write about them or draw them or something ^^ Other times I just try to keep myself occupied and keep my mind off it so I don't drive myself crazy waiting for them to arrive!!

    13. @alexolotl
Oh drawing! How could I forget that! I defiantly draw them, and draw my plans for them, and draw out little comic like stories about them, just to keep myself sane! xD I always wished I could sew, but I'm useless!xD I might try again sometime though!

    14. I'm waiting on my first doll and even before ordering him I had sketched out three potential outfits. I've browsed online for fabric and also gone to a Joan-Ans in the next town over. So all my fabric needs are taken care of so I can start working on the doll's outfit. I also ordered a wig that didn't take long to arrive. I've been trying to feel out names and story for the doll, but nothing is sticking really so I think I have to wait to actually have my doll in my hands to get a feel for who he is (gosh does that sound creepy?).

    15. Look at pictures of my doll, lol, and make some clothes for them!

    16. My gosh, I have so much anxiety waiting to buy my next doll right now (well, I do have an anxiety disorder...) I just keep posting about the dolls I already have, do a lot of window shopping - not only about wigs/clothes/etc. but also for a good sculpt; I'm one of those that buys the sculpt first and then develops the character later - I also try to browse/post on my other favorite sites that are unrelated to the BJD community, but I'm much less interested in those now that I'm deck deep in the BJD hobby.

    17. Die. The whole time. Everyday. XD

    18. I'm waiting for my doll too...and I find myself busy browsing stuffs for him...what clothes will he wear, the wigs, etc...so many things to buy lol

    19. Look her/his photos and find pretty clothing and wig until her/his come back.

    20. I spent a lot of my waiting time watching the manufacturer's website for movement, then the tracking, then the time in customs, then the exciting day before delivery. Meanwhile I was on the interweb ordering clothing, wig, eyes, boots and finding out as much as I could about this new hobby. As well as my normal daily business.
