1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What Do You Do While You Wait?

Jul 30, 2016

    1. I browse bjd shops. And read and post something on forums)

    2. Hunt for other dolls on the list. Look at other peeps dolls on Instagram, Twitter etc. Do life stuff to make the wait less.

    3. I am waiting for two dolls. Both of them have long waiting times. I just lost interest in my only doll, I have at home.. .I just lost his eyes I think. His head is on my painting plate for a month now...I am not a good doll person I think... I am sure I never ever order any other BJD...

    4. @Triexiz Sorry to hear that :( I hope you can still enjoy your incoming dolls. On the other hand, I feel that not wanting to buy more dolls isn't really a bad thing in this expensive hobby!

While waiting for my last two I've been seriously lurking on this forum ahaha. It's really fun to talk/read about doll stuff while waiting :)
Bad waiting habits of mine are: looking at BJD sales, looking at clothing for BJDs and looking at wigs for BJDs :sweat

I wish I could say that I plan for each doll but I'm not that productive or intentional about anything

    5. I hunt for clothes and wigs, etc.
Although...I have noticed I am not good with waiting, I seem to lose interest if I have to wait too long. I have two on preorder, but I wish I would have just waited for the ones I wanted to show up second hand. I hate having money tied up in something I don't physically have in my hands, especially now with all that is going on.

    6. What I do while I wait,
Is continue to sharpen my faceup skills, and continue with concept drawings of what I would like them to look like.
I also try to mold and sculpt modifications such as fox ears, bunny ears etc. I already did some concepts of dolls that are ethereal like. I may one day pursue sculpting my own.

    7. Personally I know I'll be busy with school in the meantime before they come, but I've been slowly gathering materials to begin face-up and body blushing (this would be my first time so the wait time is useful).

I've also just been carrying on with life buisness as usual, but with a longtime project to look forward to

    8. I am so bad at waiting. All I do is window shop for more dolls haha:doh

    9. I start making wigs and outfits for them.

    10. I plan for the character they will be and research wigs and clothing. I am currently writing a backstory for them but it could change.

I do this as well. Reading as much as I can about dolly stuff and seeing how creative other collectors/artists are by faceups or costumes. It inspires me and helps me form my own ideas.
