What fits an IpleHouse EID woman?

Nov 19, 2009

    1. Wait.
      What?:o
I seem to have missed something here. Do you mean to say, that someone out there is willing to make (as MadamMauMau called them) strippers shoes!?
      Or perhaps a tasteful, peep toe, slingback;
that will fit EID, SID and YID....sign me up or point me in the right direction, please.

    2. I'm interested also. I only have a handful of shoes as my girls are specific about what shoes they'd wear.

    3. ...although another perspective would be to have Iplehouse just shave some off of the Iple SID/EID foot so that they could share the growing wardrobe of shoes available in SD16 size!

Wow - I had not seen Sweetiiger's shoes and had given up looking on Ebay for a while now. I did buy Tata shoes and love them but I can't bring myself to try to stretch out the sides of them like that so my other dolls wear those ;)

      I love your suggestions Ashbet.

There are so many amazing shoes available for my fashion dolls and it does get a bit disappointing that my big girls have to "make do" with some fairly simple styles.

    4. both maybe? but we need tasteful more.... "stripper shoes" are the in trend right now so they CAN be found lol. but I love you pic... so cute and not on stilts tall! even a closed toe like that would be nice ^^ ... I'd own them for me if I could still wear heels -_-

    5. Since I've been messaging Sweetiiger back and forth about this and because my entire work life I was in the rags business I will volunteer to be the liaison with him for production purposes. If that's suits those of you who may want to do this project.
I draw so I can do up sample sketches of color ways when styles are decided on. I do not want to coordinate people or money I'm really not good at that.
In terms of styles for a first order it would probably be good to choose one they are already making.
They will need a pair of feet to make a master last.
The sole molds probably have a lot to do with the expense and if they have to change them for Iplehouse feet.
There are a few styles that Sweetiiger has that are basic now or did, a plain pump with a small platform, a pointed pump with a bow which could be left off and a high heeled sandal with an ankle strap. There have been others, but they sell out and then that's it.
Would a flickr group dedicated to this work ?

    6. as a liason I'm good with you ^^ and does he have an EID foot he works from? since I doubt he has the 'new' doll and I don't know if the SID foot changed like the YID did when it became nYID... and can multiple ppl upload to a shared flicker? (I'm still newish to flicker). I only know how to muck about in my stream.

Also I did upload a few samples of strapy shoes in timeless styles. Here is one and the rest are in a 'set' with it. Note the 'elastic' portion that adjusts to the foot. If the back heel strap was stretchy you could do away with 'working' buckles and slipping shoes on and off would be easier. Styles like this mostly all can be adapted to heel height and size (from stiletto to wedge). I will see if I can find some of my and my mom's old shoes to take pics of. We used them in theatre a lot since they often were styles versatile enough to go casual or dressy. And I was a shoe-aholic >< with tiny feet so no heavy clumpy types if I could help it ;p

EDIT: Okay was looking again at th ebay page with the shoes... I owned a pair like these with a 1.5 inch kitten heel in burgundy in th 80's (smaller bow and less than a 'peep toe' opening.... I love these and they are a prettier version of a style IH already makes ^^ Another way to describe the type of shoe some of us are asking for is the "ballroom dance shoes" ... the kind used in competitive ballroom dance, from full pump to Latin dance style shoes.

    7. I sent Sweetiiger a message to find out an idea of price per pair with 100 piece order. I asked him to use the peep toe sling back as the example.
He wanted to email me some photographs, but Ebay will not send a message with an email address in it. I told him to try to find it on Paypal since I just bought a pair or shoes from him. I guess that will work. I have found a sellers email that way, but I don't know about the other way around.
I think the hardest part will be finding a style everyone can agree on.

    8. I'm interested in whatever everyone agrees on, but Ashbet's comment:

I'd love a pair of plain black ballet flats (not patent, no ornaments except for possibly a small string bow), which fit more like actual ballet flats (thin sole, foot-conforming fit.)

Sticks in my mind as a very good idea. They could work with a lot of different styles and the flat feet.

    9. Mire, although there aren't as many as there used to be, there are still some shoes out there on the stripper sole. I don't know if you already have these, but these ones just about go on. The ankle strap is very tight and can come un-buttoned all by itself, but they can be used.

      These go on as well.

ETA: Continuing to nose around Aliexpress. These look like the ones people are looking for. They say SD16 sized, so it might be worth asking about measurements.

    10. I think the problem with a "soft" sole is the ability to balance these 'heavy' dolls... Personally since my eventual doll wardrobe will be many regency era characters clothing sets this would be perfect. (Maybe time to check Pinterest for authentic shoes of that type ^^. Even the men need something similar for 'court' type shoes. So maybe a bit of a compromise in style to accommodate a wider variety of looks. Simple flat with a 'thin' but full solid sole? Similar to the red shoe Iple already had but maybe a thinner sole or just in basic colors? nine9style has one too that can be embellished with clip on decorations... I'd kill for something like that for EID size O_o

    11. I'm fine with a thin sole, I just don't want a chunky-looking one that extends past the edge of the shoe -- I don't mind if they're "faux-ballet-flats", as long as they're simple. The sole on the IpleHouse black suede flats is an acceptable compromise, IMO, although they could be cut a little bit deeper toward the toe cleavage. If they were available in leather in various colors, I'd just buy them from IH and take the straps off.

I know that Sweetiiger has an SID Stella, so they presumably have a pair of high-heeled and flat feet on hand.

MadamMauMau, I really like that pink SD16 pair you linked, but I think the last would be too narrow, and I'm not sure that the material could be stretched without gapping . . . so I don't think they'd work for IH girls as-is, but I definitely think they're a good style to show Sweetiiger as something we'd like to have made in IH width/length/arch shape! :)

LilsGirl, if you'll coordinate communication with Sweetiiger (I'm not well enough to do a bunch of back-and-forth stuff right now, and I've been out of my ADHD meds for two weeks because my insurance is messing with me, so I'm even less up for it than usual), but I've coordinated plenty of group orders, and I can do that side of it when/if we get to that point (making a spreadsheet and managing payments is easier for me than hammering out shoe descriptions, and is closer to my office-manager/payroll work experience, LOL!)

I would not be up to doing the packing/mailing, we'd need to find someone able-bodied for that (I have a degenerative genetic disorder and have been needing to use a wheelchair lately, so post-office runs are something I try to do as seldom as possible, since I'm not driving right now), but I think that could be managed. (I could keep a list of names, addresses, and shoe orders, and could pass that along to the person doing the physical mailing, but I can't pack/mail an order of this volume myself.) Just being clear what I can and can't volunteer for!

    12. Below are some types of shoes that I would like to see made for EID.

      Riding boots

      Wedge sandals

      Gladiator sandals

Hightop sneaker and low top sneakers
      http://www.saksfifthavenue.com/main...ouboutin&N=4294912355+306418049&bmUID=kenIFlN

A basic pump with or without platform, it doesn't really matter all I want is a non chunky looking high heel.
      http://www.saksfifthavenue.com/main...ouboutin&N=4294912355+306418049&bmUID=kenLADE

These are just few examples, I would like to see nice high heel boots, dr marten style boots/combat boots.

    13. sunnysailor, SD boy shoes often fit EID girls, so some of those styles (riding boots, sneakers) could probably be found from them.

As for the Laboutin patent platforms, they already exist in EID size.

They are around on eBay and the usual places for Chinese shoes. I have a couple of pairs coming in and can check the fit then.

    14. I have those shoes. My SID Zera is wearing them right now in fact. She stands great in them.

sunnysailor: you can look at Nine9style to see if they have any sneakers. I got mock nike hightops and adidas low tops. Not sure what they got now though.

I looked in sweetigers shop and i wouldn't mind these in EID/SID/nYID size or something similar. And not necessarily in thise colours.
      http://www.ebay.com/itm/High-heeled...721?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20dd674399

Anice pair of wedge sandals would be nice, nothing too strappy and also a pair of heeled brogue type shoes.

    15. One thing I'd like to see is a sandal that is genuinely foot-baring, like the Louboutin linked above -- thick straps are cute for a chunky look, but sometimes you want a more elegant, graceful style.

I highly recommend getting 60cm BOY sized sneakers and flat boots -- they work quite well, in my experience. (70cm boy size is too big and disproportionate.) I haven't had width issues with sneakers sized for SD13 boys.

    16. I still haven't gotten a price idea from him, but he is probably waiting for some choices from us. He sent a very long list of photos. I'm going to try and make a flikr for this. If I need help I will yell. Once that is done there needs to be some way of voting there too. It may be easier to do two rounds to narrow it down and then again to finally get one style. So we need a commitment from those of us that are interested that we will go with what the group chooses or there is no point in going through all this. If this is successful we can do it again.
Please help on what to name this Flickr group so people searching for EID SID girls can find it. I hope it's possible to add a poll to vote on the group page. I also think whoever is doing the money will need a deposit as a commitment.
Any comments or ideas to help make this work??
I am a frigging shoe freak and at my age I have stopped wearing anything taller than a kitten heel so I live vicariously through my dolls. That's why I get so frustrated with Iples bland ladylike shoes or the other extreme hooker/gansta dripping with hardware. We need a happy medium also. The other problem is moderate pitch of the foot requires a platform of some kind to get a high heel.
I keep adding to this post.
      This is his answer on price;

"i can give you 15% off than i sell them.but the price is up to the style and the mabric, the price before the discount
you know that normally between $30-$40.(or at 15% off $25.50-$34) i can give you free shipping send them together to america.
      hope this are helpful."

    17. I'd say, name the Flickr group "IpleHouse EID SID nYID Woman Shoe Samples" -- that way, it will come up on searches.

I have a paid LiveJournal account, which allows you to do polls (I'll have to see if people without accounts can vote, though -- they wouldn't have to have a paid account, but I think they'd need to at least have a free account to vote.) That's a quick, free, simple way to do it.

When you have the Flickr group up and running, please give us a link! :)

    18. Yes I agree with Ashbet, I think naming the flickr group "Iplehouse EID SID nYID Women Shoe Samples" would make it easy for ppl to find the group.

    19. I got the Flickr up finally. I added a shoe style Sweetiiger sent and did quick sketches of color ways for you all to check out.
There is a discussion area and we need to decide if there are rules. I am the admin (ahh yikes!). We do need a way to do polls.
I'll try to get more styles up from what he has or has had. I have an edgy pair he doesn't have up anymore. If we can stick close to something they are already making we will probably get a lower price.
I am willing to commit to buying multiple colors, but the lower the price the easier it will be for me to do that.
The title is the one you all suggested and if you think the description needs changing let me know.
My 90 year old mother is sick so I may not get this done really fast, but I will do it.
Oh, also is there a way someone can go plant the news on other forums or in the other Iple Groups here on Flickr ? Maybe they can just leave there name in the discussion area if they are interested? But then we might need an email and that may not be okay with people. Ideas?
      Here is the link.

    20. Awesome! I just added a picture of the delicate pumps that I'd really like to see them make (they already do them in SD16 size.)

I posted a link in my Flickr, and I'll add a link to this discussion in the other IpleHouse threads :)
