Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. What if someone else opened your doll?

May 26, 2010

    1. I would hate if anyone else opened my doll before me! It's extremely rare fr me to get a new doll as it is, If someone did open my doll and see them before me I would get mad. To tell the truth I don't know why opening the box and being the first (Between your family and friends) to see it is so exiting, but I would still feel extremely mad if someone opened my doll before me.

    2. Hello yes another people open my oasis doll yaoyue(in customs) I feel bad (i don't know why) i feel something strange as touch her XD , opened my box with out careless, as if are violated her privacy XD, a strange feeling that something is wrong. Time after is everything normal i forget =D XD but when i think about back that feelings >.<

    3. I welcome it. Less work for me to do. I'd prefer to pick him up though.

    4. I would feel as if someone choked me if I see my box is opened! Its like all the wait, all the hardship and worries just gone worst! First, I would get angry and second, I would worry if it was damage or something!

      Honestly, if someone open my box, it would make me feel as if I just miss out on the my dollies birth! ;w;

    5. Opening someone else's packages is extremely rude and completely disregards their privacy. No one has the right to temper with your property without your consent, this is just proper courtesy. I can completely understand going all bonkers over it.

    6. If it was an accident then they should stop before opening the actual box, and unless their name is similar there should be a very good reason for it, otherwise I would be very irritated.

I get a lot of packages in the mail at times and no one else has ever opened them, when they arrive and I'm not home and package is simply left on my bed. I don't see any reason for someone to open another persons mail unless they are actively looking for something, have permission or it was an accident.

Even if the packaging was damaged I would still prefer to see and asses such a thing myself. The one exception being perhaps if it was wet or something. In which case it would be good to either get the item out as soon as possible or put it somewhere warm to dry.

    7. I've been looking at people doing their box openings and I'm so excited that I'll be doing it soon too. I would be devastated if someone else opened it for me while I was at work, as well as suspicious as to why they would want to open it. >:I

    8. There would be a bloody stump somewhere in my parents' house...XD In all seriousness I would honestly be infuriated. I hate when other people open things for me and especially if it was something like a doll, that I had waited seemingly forever for, there would be some animosity toward whoever opened it for me. I tend to hold very childish grudges that include "the silent treatment" and snide remarks so that person would learn their lesson pretty quick.

    9. Well my best friend and I opened my sd13 together. She didn't most of the work and I guess 'opened' him, but I trusted her better then myself. I was too excited. I wanted to rip it open, I was being too rough. So i'm glad she did it, but if she didn't have my go ahead.... I would be pissed. I would flip a table and turn into the hulk. No one touches my babies!

    10. I think if(when) I bought a doll and someone else opened it- I would probably either have a really nerd rage moment or a ultra sad panda moment. D: I would want to be there for my little baby's birth- no one else can touch them! Well.. except for handing the box to me c:

    11. Well, my first doll has been shipped out recently but I had it shipped to my home instead of the apartment I'm living in for school. This is mostly for security (and peace of mind) reasons regarding paranoia about mail theft. However, as a friend once brought up to me, it might be better to have someone open the box to check to see if anything is amiss.

So, I'm going to have my first box opening ever via webcam :); my mother will happily do the opening for me (I trust her 500%), check to make sure there is no damage (with me on webcam double-checking), and keep my doll for me until I can pick her up in person when a long holiday comes up.

I know some people might find a webcam opening very impersonal, but I'm very close to my mother so it might as well be me opening it. Also, it will reassure me nothing will go horribly wrong and that if someone is wrong, I can get it resolved easily.

    12. I can't see my hubby being interested in my doll stuff and there's no one else around so I don't really have experience about the matter. But if I would live with a room mate or something and she'd open my stuff she'd be out of my house that instant! I don't want people touching my dolls and opening others mail is a criminal offence.

    13. The only time (this hasn't happened yet) I would allow someone else to open one of my packages would be if I wasn't able to do it and the doll needed to be checked for damage. I would be so angry.

    14. I've had two incidents of that occuring. One was when my doll was shipped to another state and opened by someone else-which didn't make me mad, I was just terrified they wouldn't send her to me. O.O aaand when my doll's head went to my friend's house and I didn't mind that she opened it. ^^ I was sad that I didn't get to take a doll box opening but meh. *shrug*

    15. I don't know why I haven't posted here before, because I have a story about this that was scary at the time but utterly hilarious now.

My first doll wasn't actually a whole doll. I bought a dollzone mini body in a split, and had it sent to my aunt's to save some shipping. After I had bought it, I told my mother (who talkes to her more frequently) to tell my aunt that this dolly body was on the way.

      Which, of course, she forgot.

So, after two weeks, I call up my aunt to see if she recieved him, and it turns out she had. Luckily, I caught her before she could throw it out! As we in the hobby know, most dolls are held together with an S-hook in the neck. Well my aunt had thought someone had sent her some kind of sick joke - a naked miniature boy body with an S-hook for a head, in a black and red box? Yikes!

So now, I really can't say I'm upset when people (usually my aunt) opens my dolls before me. I just get paranoid and stress heavily that if they feel they must, to be really careful, because they are dear to me. Then again, I never do the whole box opening-take pictures thing. I'm too excited to see them for that :)

    16. Well, if the outer box was damaged and there was reason to worry that the doll inside was damaged, then I wouldn't mind on of my family members opening the box. But I usually prefer to open doll boxes myself...of course, I don't mind sharing the fun with a friend and opening the box together. ^_^

    17. I think I would cry...okay I would definitely cry cus I'm a big ole drama mama. XD

And then the ranting raving anger with high pitched shrieks of anger would occur. =P

    18. If they just opened the outer box, I wouldn't care too much, though I don't think anyone in my family would. They usually know if I buy something big.
I'd be pretty annoyed if they opened the actual doll box though, and not really because they invaded 'box opening' territory so much as because, 'don't be messin' with stuff you don't understand and could possible damage.'
I can understand being annoyed about having opened camera lense boxes 'cuz they're pretty delicate too.

    19. With most packages that come in for me, even my Christmas presents(yes, I order my own presents because even if I told my mom what I wanted, she'd still make me do it), my mom always just leaves it by my laptop for when I get home from school because she doesn't know what it's supposed to be, so if she opens it she really wouldn't know what to expect inside of it. She figures I may as well so if there's anything wrong with it I would know. Plus, she knows how exciting it is for me to open a package. I would be extremely upset if someone opened it for me, because I wanted to have the happy feeling of something new and shiny. It isn't new and shiny if someone already opened it. But that's just me ><

    20. I would be so mad for like a day or two. D8 Because...I don't know, I just have to be the one to do it. It's just nice that you're the one to be opening the box and unpacking everything, as odd as it seems. I mean it's your doll anyway; I don't see why anyone else would want to open it. o3o If there are like a few layers or packaging then it's okay, but the box with the actual doll itself....I think that a lot of people would know what I mean. :sweat
I don't even really let anyone touch the doll I have. :sweat ((Who knows? My greatest fear is that someone would drop them....T^T)) So I doubt I'd like someone opening a new doll. D8
