1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What if someone else opened your doll?

May 26, 2010

    1. It depends on who opens it and if I know about it..If someone opened it without contacting me about it first I'd be really upset.
I have however had my mom rip open boxes for me and at least check for breaks/missing pieces but typically I ask her to just put the box on my bed n leave it alone.. all a matter of Contents..

I think I'd be really annoyed to maybe even angry if someone just Opened them though ..

    2. Oooh, that would be a big no-no! I live alone and it's not very likely that anyone else would ever open the box before me though, but in the event that I lived with someone else and they opened the box first, I would be pretty annoyed. Part of the fun is getting that box open and wading through all the layers of bubble wrap and tape to get to the dolly hiding inside. I wouldn't want someone else to take that pleasure away from me.

    3. I don't think I'd stay mad at whoever opened it, since whoever did it would've known what it was and was simply excited to finally see it arrive.

Though I do feel that box openings can be somewhat personal, and I'd much rather open it myself...

    4. I hate when people open my mail (well, beyond pissed off), a sibling of mine used to do that every time I had a package come in. I had the feeling that whatever I got and looked expensive she would become jealous and complain that I got all the "nice things" (that I bought with my own money) or steal my items to re-sell or keep herself.

If it's doll clothes, eyes, shoes, etc. I wouldn't mind, but if it's a huge box with my name in big bold permanent black marker and they open it without asking me, they better sleep with one eye open that night... I take it very seriously now, even if the box is damaged.

    5. i would be absolutely infuriated. If someone opened my doll, or any package for that matter, of mine without having permission there would be quite a bit of back lash. I would cry a lot since it's my first reaction to any big emotion.

Luckily i don't live with anyone where i have to worry about that. Everyone knows how much i like opening packages and they would never dream of doing something so rude as to opening it.

    6. This actually came up with me recently. I plan on getting two the the DZ Momo dolls, since I'm getting a Tulip which is over the limit needed for two of them, and one of the Momos is going to be my girlfriends (main reason I'm getting the Momos and not the Fairy doll). But I realized I'd need to open the box to check for damage, and I brought this up with her. She gave me permission to check for damage and then seal it back up so she can do her own opening.

I'd be upset if someone opened my box, though I don't think that would ruin the doll for me. Just because...well actually I don't know why. The box opening is something I'm very very excited about (never really got a big box opening when I got Lestat), so I'd be very upset but that might be the most of it.

    7. if someone did that to me...that person is a dead meat

    8. i would probably be very agitated at them, because it's really not their business i fit has my name on it. But i wouldn't necessarily be mad, but again it's not their business.

    9. My MSD boy was opened for me, he is my only complete boy at the moment and my niece opened him. The parcel went to my sister's house and before she knew it my niece had taken the pleasure of ripping opening the packaging and taken my boy which she apparently loved and wanted.

I can't get angry at her since at the time she was only 2 1/2 and that would be extremely mean of me to do, though she did get her little bother a few days later. So she forgot about my boy.
I would more likely get upset if any one else did it who knew better of course but since it was her, I told her she took all my fun of opening it for herself which she giggled.

    10. tipple post sorry

    11. tipple post sorry

    12. i mind stranger to touch my doll, not my friends but i do not allow them to touch the doll's face

    13. I have to tell, I would get angry. Because I don't have any doll yet - I want to experience that magical feeling of opening the long desired package. I live with my father and he does exactly know whether to open it or not.

    14. I would be terribly upset. I paid for them with my own money, shouldn't I get to see my doll first? I know it's a terrible analogy, but it's akin to a mother giving birth to a child and being the last one in the room to hold her. Also I'm big on my property being, you know, mine.

    15. I would be very upset. I want to be the first to see/touch her!
I know my husband would never open her, so I don't have anything to be worried about. :)

    16. This fortunately never happened to me, but if it did...

I would be angry. Like, really ANGRY, because...you choose that doll, you pay for it, you're waiting WHOLE MONTHS for it...and then someone come and boldly steal your moment of excitement?? No way.

    17. To be perfectly honest thats a bad analogy. When you have a c-section, you do not get to hold your child first....you are wheeled to a recovery room where you wait for the anesthesia to wear off.
Now for on-topic: Not likely to happen as I'm the only one into my dolls but if it came down to me not being home and the box being in bad condition, I would want my husband to check her for damage before accepting her from the postman.

    18. I'm not sure, but I think, that I would be upset and worried, because I didn't know what happened to my baby! :|

    19. Well my reaction certainly wouldn't be pleasant. Not only would a doll something I've been saving for for a loong time and something that I was attached to, but it would say my name on the box. Not anyone else's, mine, meaning its my property and they shouldn't be going near it with opening-intent.

    20. Neither of my box openings have gone very well, so I wouldn't honestly care if someone opened my doll first, as long as they didn't damage it and put it back in the box so that I could find it that way. xD
