1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What if someone else opened your doll?

May 26, 2010

    1. Death to the one who even DARES touching my baby! >:0 *flames kick in as anger rises over thought*

    2. The only one who is allowed to open my doll packages is myself unless I said it was fine!

    3. I live with my parents, so if I received a package and they opened it, well then I'd be annoyed....but hey, they're my parents! I don't think it's very likely to happen, anyway. They respect my privacy, and I'm pretty sure that they'd only open a box of mine if I told them to.

I've never had a box opening, so that's probably part of my reason for not really caring as much.

    4. :D I would be really sad lol but my family understands how much me opening my packages mean to me since I tend to stalk the mail man and the track the package as soon as i get a tracking number. they also have me wait for them they are generally excited to watch me open my doll XD

    5. It would be strange for me. I have never lived in a situation or with people who would think opening someone else's mail is acceptable behavior if they were not asked to do it. Even my parents do not open my mail if it is sent to them by mistake. . . even if it looks like it is probably junk mail.

I don't see this ever happening unless my mail is mistakenly delivered to a neighbor, or I get married/a live-in girl/boyfriend. I would be angry at the neighbor- and I am pretty sure that would be illegal on their part. In the case of a live-in partner, I would also be angry as I dislike anyone touching my stuff, and I am not sure how I would deal with it if they did not feel the same way or at least understand it (I probably won't ever have a live-in for this reason lol)

    6. Well, unless I specifically asked someone to check the package, because I'm away, I wouldn't want anyone to touch it. Dolls are expensive and I'd want to check it to see if there's damage. If I wasn't the one who opened the box, I couldn't be sure if the damage I might see happened during shipping or not. Not that I think that anyone would open the box with a sledgehammer, but when it comes to insurance, I just like to be careful.

    7. in the unlikely event that it does happen, i would be absolutely furious. chances are it would be my brother and the little b*stard would probably break it or hide it and ring me to tell me he had done so. or in the extremely unlikely chance that my mum would open it she would think it was for one of my cousins and give it to one of my aunts. my family... grrrr

    8. That would be horrible if somebody else opened my doll! Its my favorite part of getting the doll! :o

    9. I would go absolute cray cray, no lie.

    10. I don't think I would mind as long as they were someone I trusted and didn't steal or break anything. I've let friends help me open dolls before it's not a big deal. However if it was someone I barely knew and they just took it upon themselves to open it, I would be a little upset.

    11. It's easy. I'd kill them. Even when my boyfriend picks up my dolls from the customs office from me he is not allowed to open the box at the office to check that everything is complete and okay. Nobody but me opens my box!!!

    12. Its so funny cause I just had a talk with mum about this...

I'm home on a break from college cause transferring and she said she would get my next doll.
Its a xmas present but I know its gonna arrive a little bit earlier than xmas. She told me she wants it to be delivered to her job but I know that means she wants to deliver it there so she can open him and put him under the tree for xmas. I shot that idea down all to quickly.
I'm not sure if its because I am still relatively new only having 1 doll and the next one being my second or what but the thought of anyone opening the boxes but me is a instant rage quit.

    13. I'd kill if someone even try to do that ! My preciouuuuuus !

    14. I definitely would not be happy, to me opening them is one of the best parts!

    15. I'd be upset, but probably more because of someone else opening my mail than it being the doll itself. I buy a lot of things online and they usually come in boxes, and by the time it gets here I don't remember which is which. I couldn't make a box opening video when I got my first bjd because I didn't actually know that's what it was until I opened it... Oops x:

    16. I haven't really had this happen to me, and I don't even really have a comparable moment to it, but I think I'd be pretty upset if someone opened my doll's box for me. It's that first moment of contact and, for me, it helps with bonding with the doll. I love doing the box opening myself, and I'd feel like I missed out on a lot by having someone else do it.

    17. Personally, I'd be content with knowing that the doll arrived in one piece. If I was away or something, I'll prolly even ask whoever opened it to take a picture for me first. o uo Though, with other people's things, I'd usually ask first.

    18. I’ve
actually had this happen. My dad took me to pick my girl up from the post and
after retrieving her box, he remembered that he needed something from another
nearby store. I ran in for him, grabbed what he wanted and returned to my doll
opened and waiting for me! I was so upset, but at the time, he just wanted to
help me open her. I ended up selling the doll, and I still wonder if it’s
because I never got the chance to properly ‘bond’ with her.

    19. When I was in college I bought a doll around Christmas time. Since the dorms were not reliable when it came to mail (I had not gotten packages I ordered in the past). I shipped it to my parents house. My mother did not open the package, but in retrospect I should have had her open it (I wouldn't be home till Christmas break). If something had happened during shipping you usually only have a small window of time to contact the company. I would rather my new doll not be stuck with a broken part or have to pay to replace it.

That being said I would have whoever opened it put the doll right back in the box. However, I do think there are times when it might be necessary to have another person open it, but only with permission!

    20. I would be sad and surely annoyed if someone else opened my box while I was out, that is if I didn't give them permission. Fortunately I'm temporarily full time at home and I'm getting all the mail, but I only open mine and always leave my husband's ones on the table for him to open his letters and packages. :) The only thing that makes me angry is when the postman doesn't even knock on the door for me to take the package and just leave it in front of my door. What if I wasn't there to pick it up anybody would take it. It doesn't happen often but it did for 3 of our package. I'm glad I went to check in front of the door when I heard noise in the hallway.
