1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

What inspires your doll purchases

Sep 15, 2016

    1. I see if I can imagine myself dressing and posing them. If I can, I’ll get the doll. I have a specific look and theme I’m going for with my dolls but I sometimes break that for the rule of thumb I have :)

    2. At the moment, fitting into my fantasy world. That doesn't mean I won't fall for one that doesn't though, that's bound to happen too. Whether or not they fit will primarily be sculpt-based, since I am mainly checking out anthros. But I'm sure it won't be long before I find a pretty girl or boy though that I can't resist!

    3. My doll purchases are usually inspired by other people's pictures and videos of their dolls. That's usually how I end up choosing which sculpt to go with, because it's easier to decide when you can see the doll in different angles, lighting, and faceups.

I don't currently have a certain look that I'm going for with my dolls. If I like the way he/she looks then I'm probably putting it on my bjd wishlist.

    4. Most of my purchases so far have been based on seeing the doll "out in the wild" of the internet, and finding I couldn't stop thinking about their face. I'd then have to go back and look up the sculpt or ask around.

If someone has one and it grabs my attention, I'm definitely inspired! I think it's a lot more likely with owner photos than product listings on the websites. Not sure why.

I'm better now about pre-empting if I am going to remember and possibly want a sculpt, so I do a lot of google lookups or hashtag checks on IG.

    5. Connection. I look for the unexplained feeling of bonding I have with them. As a matter of fact, I have one that giving me his name and I knew that it was a sign to act.

    6. All the dolls I have and the most of dolls I'm planning to have are based on my OCs. It's really simple for me, if the doll really looks like someone from my head I'll consider buying it : D
