What is the worst part about being a BJD collector/owner?

Dec 20, 2011

    1. Ordering a fantastic Hye from Soul Doll from a third party seller 2 months ago, finding out soul doll is running a super event aka. time taken away from them making their orders on time, getting told I have to wait another hmmmmmm maybe 3-4 months. I am angry at the whole wide whurl right now! >:|

    2. The fact of not having enough money for that certain doll you know you have to have. It's such a kill joy.

    3. Money.....sigh.

    4. Money is the most obvious answer, but also how long it takes to get a doll to the stage where it's totally finished. Only one of my dolls is totally done - wig, eyes, face, clothing, shoes. The others all have something missing, whether it's a faceup, clothing or shoes Then there are the heads with no bodies.

But on the other hand it's the search for all those components which makes this hobby more fun that collecting other types of dolls .

    5. **Prices
**Addiction to acquiring new dolls & doll items (no thanks to constant new releases)
      **Not enough space
**Never fully completing any one doll
**Criticism from family, strangers, and even other doll owners!
      **My low grade photo skills

    6. The cost, I think, and the attachment is sort of double edged.

On one hand they bring me a lot of joy, but on the other hand if times get hard I'm not going to want to sell them :L

    7. Not being able to buy every single doll that I'd love to have. And not having space for that many dolls :)

    8. My issue is very similar to others:

I have a hoarder personality - which means, I get a terribly obsessive compulsion to get any doll that fits in my profile (big dolls, brunette dolls, old-fashioned dolls, dark eyed dolls)... moreso with bjd's because the customization probabilities are endless. And with the advent of the 1:1 or 1:2 dolls I find myself - and my wallet - getting more and more screwed. :'( It's difficult, especially with the Dollmore Trinity line, where it usually is a limited edition. I got myself a Lumie, and here I am wanting all of the Trinity editions!

      ...

Which of course, leads to the base problem: the cost. :'(

      <<Oh if I only sweat money...>>

    9. Money and perfectionism - I've considered maybe eight different sculpts for Qua'ny alone, and a fair few for Aurelian and Avelana as well... finding the perfect sculpt is hard enough when there are so many that almost fit but not quite, and not wanting to settle.
