1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. What is your biggest fear concerning your dolls?

Oct 3, 2011

    1. One of my big fears is finding an infestation of spiders living inside my dolls. like... INSIDE the dolls. :shudder

    2. My biggest fear would be damaging my dolls is some way. I really love their current face ups and sculpt so seeing that get damaged would be brutal.

    3. My biggest fear would be losing one of them. Damage can be repaired to a point, but what is lost is lost and usually does not come back. I lost one shoe already, that was terrible enough.
Also whenever I restring my dolls i am afraid the s-hook in the head might break and let the whole doll explode in parts around my room. Although, that's kind of silly, now that I think about it.

    4. My biggest fear is my dolls getting dust on them. I keep them in display cases when not in use, but still find myself checking for dust.

    5. Oh my goodness that would be my worst nightmare :shudder!! I would probably chuck my doll if that happened out of pure fear LOL.

My worst fear is my dolls falling into a large body of water that I won't be able to do anything about. This stems from my childhood experience when I dropped a toy I won into a lake and saw it slowly sink into its dark depths...never to be seen again :...( . It was a horrible, horrible feeling, and imagining that happening to my dolls makes me shudder. I don't go near large bodies of water without securing everything on me, and I'm pretty sure I'll be able to scoop up a doll as they fell in, but it's still frightening to me!

    6. Biggest fear. Anticipating a very expensive doll....waiting for months....finally getting him (only boy dolls for me) and having no delight or excitement after finally opening the box. Disappointment with the sculpt and such. That would be mine. That and breaking a part or faceup rubbing off.

    7. Haha, I've kind of had that happen, not with my BJDs but with my Little Apple Dolls. They'd been in the windowsill for a long while, I'd kind of forgotten about them and not handled them much, and then I picked Erro up and there was a spider nest inside her dress. Luckily, the spiders we get here in Holland aren't at all dangerous and I actually think spiders are pretty cool, so I didn't mind that much. I just put them outside where they belong.

    8. Someone breaking them when me any my mom aren't home. I'm also very afraid of chipping, especially their noses. Pointy ski slope noses.

    9. All my fears are pretty common doll owner fears.lol Scratching the faceup(especially when it's new), them falling over during a shoot and chipping body parts or the face..:(((( Me going up the stairs while carrying them, and tripping??T n T ...Them getting stolen during meets (I trust my friends, I am concerned about the people I don't know and of course, passerby's). Sending them off for a faceup and package getting lost in the mail..

those are just a few at the top of my head. The fear is real.

    10. natural phenomenon like earthquake. there's nothing i can do about that.
or i got a call at work saying my apartment's on fire and my dolls melted into one big goo.
their are my biggest assets that will be hard to replace/insure/transport/keep safe.
you can have copy of work, books, online nowadays, but dolls?

    11. Mostly I just worry about things being lost/broken in transit, especially on a limited doll.

    12. My biggest fear is to have my doll fall out of my arms or to see her falling of my night table. I really had trouble to hold her because of that. It drives me crazy :...(.

    13. I worry when I take them to conventions about theft. I worry at home about fire, dropping and breaking one, or, heaven forbid, the attack of the family dog. She got one of my less expensive dolls when she was a puppy and chewed up an arm. It was not a pretty picture. She isn't allowed in my doll room but I still worry.

    14. That my bjd will get destroyed in a fire or stolen, those would be my most worrying fears concerning my bjd. Other natural disasters are big worries too -_-'.

    15. My biggest fear is accidentally leaving them on a train when I take them to meetups (I keep checking if I have the carrier with me), and second to that, losing them in a housefire (but at least if that happened, I could probably get the same sculpts back with my insurance money as most of them aren't limiteds).

    16. mostly my fears are the same as everyone else's. I worry about dropping my dolls on hard surfaces and damaging their faces, particularly the noses... I actually had this fear come to pass with my lati yellow Imogen. She fell off a railing onto concrete!! Thankfully the only part of her that got damaged was her ear, it is a bit chipped. I don't know how I got so lucky!

I also worry that when we get our kitten in the summer than she will get into the doll stuff and swallow little pieces. Puki hands and feet would be very tempting for a little kitten and Whimsy's right hand is ALWAYS popping off.

    17. My biggest fear is that I'll mess up the faceup when putting on clothes that have tight necklines and need to slide over the face.

I'm also afraid of losing a doll in transit. That would be the worst thing. I can't even imagine how disappointed I would be if my future doll was confiscated. I mean so much effort is put into making them, and not to mention the money spent, but I'd be devastated if it happened to me.

    18. Dropping her/ chipping her nose off. I've actually have had dreams of doing it. >_<

    19. That happened to my Shiwoo boy, Ryuichi. I was taking pics of him outside on what I thought was a windless day and one gust of wind came out of nowhere and he not only faceplanted into the "lake" he was standing on, but it dented his nose, lost a couple of fingers and his eyelashes came off of his factory faceup. :(

Because of that, I found out that resin "holds a memory" so I managed to steam and then sand the dent out of his nose, he got jointed hands instead of his factory hands, I learned how to put in eyelashes and to not go farther than grab-reach of my Crew when they stand.

It was a complete and total learning experience, but one that I'd not like to experience again, that's for sure!:sweat

Now my fear is that Noriko, my new SD-sized Dark Elf Soo girl's elf ears will break off. Let me tell you, I'm SUPER-careful when I stand her up anywhere!

    20. I think I have quite a few fears when it comes to dolls, especially since I'm still a bit new to this hobby :sweat I am afraid of staining my boy's resin somehow (either with a wig or with clothing) and have it be unable to come out. While I'm eager to get a faceup for his blank face, I'm also afraid of damaging the faceup, especially since the wig I have has bangs that are in his face and might stain his faceup...or that putting his wig on and off will rub it off over time. I have a wig cap for his head, but those bangs always brush against his face, and the part covered by the cap is always covered by a wig so its the least of my worries.

And the silliest of all, I am afraid of restringing him. I have never restrung a bjd before...I know a lot of people say it's easy, and I've researched many tutorials on how to do it as efficiently as possible. And yet I'm still afraid I'll mess up and damage him somehow :(
